Renoku's training, Raoul's first fight

[Proteus]

((Let’s say ten posts each and we’ll call it finished. We both have eight right now.))

Renoku’s kick connected solidly with Proteus’ sternum, knocking the wind from his lungs and keeping him from immediately taking advantage of the other man’s position as he fell to the ground. It took Proteus seconds to regain his breath. In the mean time, he took a step back, putting himself out of range of whatever attacks Renoku might try to launch from his prone position.

He was soon able to breath normally again and fell into an balanced karate stance, shifting his weight easily on the balls of his feet. It wasn’t polite to attack a downed man in a training exercise anyway. He tamed a few stray dreadlocks and waited patiently for his opponent to get to his feet.

[Renoku]

Renoku spun and got up. He had noticed Proteus regained his breath about the same time he did. Renoku slowly walked forward, somewhat sliding his feet. He had cocked his right arm. and had his left arm stretched forward. Renoku stopped only a few feet in front of Proteus. There He took a pause. Then He Bend his knees, and jumped at Proteus. He used his legs to jolt him up.

In the air, Renoku bend his knees. As he cam down he release and kicked at Proteus' chest. Then Renoku pulled his left arm back and began to thrust his right arm and fist at Proteus' face. Finally, Renoku swung his left arm around and bent down to bring a low a side of Proteus' lower back. In the same movement, Renoku brought His right foot forward, kicking at Proteus' ankle, in a hope to trip him. Renoku understood it was a difficult maneuver, but he wanted to give it a try.

[Proteus]

Proteus watched as Renoku jumped into the air. Proteus easily knocked aside the man's leg with his right forearm as it sped toward his chest. The punch to the face was harmlessly turned aside by a quick rising block with his left forearm. Proteus was unprepared for Renoku's next move, however. The momentum of the man's punch to his lower back caused him to stumble over Renoku's foot. Proteus felt himself beginning to fall and quickly executed a shoulder roll across the dojo's hardwood floor.

The momentum of the roll carried him naturally into a semi-crouched position and he quickly turned. Renoku was now about a body length away from him. He again looked the man over and nodded thoughtfully before making a polite bow with a slight flourish in his direction. The man could already handle himself quite well. Proteus was interested to see how he would improve with experience he gained in the Matrix.

"Well done. You are already a formidable opponent and I am sure that you will only become more so with additional combat time. It has been an honor to spar with you and it would be a pleasure to extend an invitation to join the crew of the Mjolnir on behalf of my Captain."

[Renoku]

Renoku put his fists down and bowed. A smile started to come to his face as he began to regain his breath.

"Thank you," said Renoku, "It would be an honor as well to join the Mjolnir crew."
