A corded desktop phone rang in a room located at the last floor of an overused apartment building. After a couple of ring tones, Anubis had jacked-in at around midnight and was inside of the matrix for the first time in what seemed like ages. After looking down at his hands and flexing his fingers, he rotated his shoulders and raised his chin, closing his eyes, then finally ceasing all unnecessary movements. Anubis opened his eyes and began panning his eyesight around the room. Starting with his right foot, he walked over to a mirror to gaze at the image of his digital self. Anubis was wearing his usual vested trench coat with a stylish touch of fur around the collar along with black fingerless gloves. Though he was dressed as he used to, things still were not the same as he remembered.
Anubis was never the egotistical type, so it didn't take long before he lost interest in examining himself in the mirror. As he walked over to the door, with his left hand, he opened it and walked through. Closing the door behind him he halted with his arms at his sides. Anubis looked left, then looked right. His eyes squinted behind his sunglasses. The apartment was silent, but so was the rest of the world he had thought to himself. He then continued on by pushing through a fire exited door and walked up the staircase that rounded itself upward toward the rooftop. Upon reaching the roof, the door squeaked loudly as it opened and closed. The sky was pitch black, lacking any stars or moon to accompany the night. In a panoramic view, numerous smoke and steam had risen from an incredible amount of chimneys and other rooftops.
The Zionite walked to the very edge of the building and placed his right hand on a nearby antenna and grasped it tightly, leaning forward and gazing downward at the streets below. Few cars had sped passed along with an every-so-often passerby who seemed just like himself on a still night, walking into the darkness in search.

So long... it had been so long, With Umi's death she'd felt so lost for a long time and had left the matrix, her ship in temporary command until she could figure out just what the hell she was doing. Her hair was cut shot she decided clinging to the past was hopeless, she'd never fin Amun she needed to stop clinging to that hopeless delusion , he was gone, and he obviously didn't want her to find him or she would have by now.
She walked along the streets silently a silk black halter top and black jeans with a long black sleeveless overcoat fluttered in the wind. She frowned pausing thinking back, she'd gotten a transmission had ignored it for a while before finally reading it, it was from that man... Anubis. she shifted, his transmission had ended so suddenly, what had he been trying to say? He m... Did he miss her? she wasn't sure she missed him he was like an older brother, she'd been so careful back then though she hadn't been sure about anything a rebel leader with out a cause going every way but the correct one... well.. Now she was back and this time she'd do things right!
she felt a shiver run down her back, that same sensation one got when they were being watched she looked around a moment before turning and gazing up at the roof of the building she'd paused in front of and sure enough someone was up there watching the streets below.

As Anubis continued to lean over the edge of the rooftop, the sky began to let a very slight drizzle hit the city. It had not rained in awhile. With a deep breath, it was possible to smell the scent of the tarmac below as it was being cooled off from earlier on in the hot day as the macadam collected the heat of the overbearing afternoon sun. Below, he could see a figure looking up at him. Anubis had leaned over further, the antenna's metal stem had begun to bend with the weight of his body. His left eyebrow lifted. He was not alone. Part of him was grateful and a good portion of him was not. If it was who Anubis thought it might be, one of his transmissions had successfully been received.
As he shifted his weight backward, the antenna had straightened itself and Anubis ceased his grasp of the metal stem. He backpedalled a few steps before turning and walking forward. As he continued near the door he emerged from, he passed by a rooftop exhaust fan that could literally be deafening. As he reached for the doorknob with his left hand, he halted, his fingers sprawled outward in a frozen position. Slowly closing his fingers, he backed away and stood staring at the door frame. He decided it would be best if he remained on the roof until the figure would greet him. Anubis figured it would not have been in his best interest to run toward danger if the figure were an Agent, programmed to dispose of him. As he stood standing still, the wind picked up, his vested trench coat had kicked up behind him and started to flow with the midnight air. Following close behind the wind was a more heavier rain as it could be heard hitting the rooftops.
