Not sure how many here know of Japan Discoveries, but it is a smaller outlet that also sells to the states. It was from this place that I got my Jeune Fille.

The place's owner a fellow named Satoshi was really cool with helping me get my guitar.

Well, I sent an email to him to see how things are going, and this is his response.

Hi there,

It's been a while, Thank you for your writing to me, I can remember you just seeing your name.
The earthquake was the longest one I have ever experienced.
For future quick recovery of Japan all of my staff and family is still fine and trying to work just as normal as we can, my store is small, but a as a part of economic activity.

>it is impressive to not see violence or looting.
It looks just standard Japanese people for me since we don't have such idea basically.
For about 15years before, another huge earthquake hit west area of Japan.
We know the area has been recovered quickly from the disaster, and I think those suffered people still can believe that other people will rescue and support them as well as they can.

Recovery has already got started in the suffered area, but the biggest concern is the damaged nuke plants as you may know.
The situation is still in serious and the story is not ended yet.
I live in 500km (approx 400mile) away from the nuke plants and I can say my neighborhood is still in safe, but Tokyo area has been in scheduled black out due to the lack of electric power from the nuke and it causes big impact for Japanese economy.

I've got to know various things through this hard time, so many countries includes the US are trying to save Japan. The world is not so bad than I ever thought.
Also remind us how important to gather correct information and judging what's true to not to be panic.
Now I think we shouldn't miss this opportunity to make things better than ever.
Anyway, I will doing my best to donate more cause I know my praying doesn't feed people.
Everything will be alright soon, and I hope you have a nice weekend, just as usual!

Best wishes,
Satoshi

Part of the profits from sales will be donated to Japanese Red cross for earthquake victims.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your continued business and support.

I thought it would be good for members to see another source of fairly good news about at least tokyo.

Those nukes are still frightening though that is certain.

Japan will recover though.
