Mango is a language program that you can use for free though your local library.

TheMango website allows you see if your local library is offering this program for free.

So far I'm really enjoying this program because, it teaches you actual conversations in Japanese and I actually feel like I'm learning more effectively this way.

The only downside is that I wish I were able to interact with more people learning the same language like on livemocha. Also you can only access Mango for Libraries, through you local library's website.

I have tried this. It is a little too repetitive for me, but it is okay. I know they make you repeat things over and over for practice but you can't help getting bored after a while. I do wish it also had pictures like Rosetta Stone to give you that mental visual connection.
But, hey, it's free.
