“My X-Men, the President of the United States himself has approached me to form a sort of alliance with the government, a partnership if you will, where we will be called upon when those without the abilities we can offer them cannot achieve the desired result. At first, there was a list of terms given to me, to us, orders, if you will, of which I was quick to point out to the Department of Defense that the X-Men answer to no one now, nor will they ever answer to anyone in the future. My refusal to follow those terms was met with something I have not seen towards mutant kind in a very long time… understanding, compassion, an outright asking me what our terms would be, the first of which they were not the least bit surprised with, ‘Only if the majority of my X-Men agree this could be a step towards all of us living side by side in peace will I even consider your proposal’. This is why I am coming to you now. I am asking you all to consider what this could mean for our future, for the future of all mutant kind…”

Times are changing, the canine attack has brought mutants into an entirely new light. The above proposal is for all mutants living in the US… will YOU keep an open mind and possibly eventually agree to become a member of Agency X?

X-GENE MUTATION

Pyrokinesis (Manipulation Only): Pyro is invulnerable to any fire that he has placed under his mental control and has the psionic ability to cause any fire to grow in size and intensity and to take any form he wishes, even that of a living creature, however, none of these fire creatures have any intelligence or life, simply a fire form construct of the fire bug’s mind.

Pyro can psionically manipulate the flame to do whatever he desires and his fiery creations have greater solidity than normal flame; hence he can ride upon the back of a flaming horse as long as it remains under his full control. The greater the creation, the more concentration it takes to keep control of it.

Just recently, thanks to Mana’s help and simply the determination to somehow build on a power that thus far has seen no chance of him ever being able to create the flame as well as control it, John has developed the ability to control flames that he cannot see within a 100-yard radius. Due to his mutation he is able to sense any nearby flame from any source; for example: a cigarette; therefore taking control of it

Control: Moderate

Weaknesses: As with his foster sister and pretty much any Pyrokinetic out there, if the flames are not under his direct control, they will burn him like anyone else, and, if he loses interest in his fiery creations, or his concentration is broken, they will simply revert back to normal flame.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE

Marital Status: Married

Personality: Pyro used to be one of those people who didn't care what anyone else thought about him. He would do what he wanted, when he wanted, no matter the consequences to himself or anyone else. Back then, he could rightfully be called a stubborn, hot-headed bad boy, and, damn proud of it too.

When his foster sister came back in his life, his bad boy side didn’t show itself very often, as he loves Mana with all his heart, and thought having her back after being separated from her for so long was all that mattered. Turns out, he was wrong… it takes much more to mend a broken heart, and to regain control of an anger that had been festering long before he’d even met his foster family. For a while there, he allowed that anger to control him, leaving the X-Men for the Brotherhood, where his arrogance reached its pinnacle, and his bad boy attitude literally consumed him.

Fortunately though, thanks to those who care about him the most, John can now honestly say he has been there and done that and with the birth of his baby daughter, a whole new side has emerged from the once resident Bad Boy of the Xavier mansion. He’s a father, a husband, and a friend, reflecting all the qualities that come along with the areas he holds closest to his heart. Yet, under the right circumstances, and given the right push, Pyro forever and always will be… Pyro ^^.

Demeanour: Contented Father, Husband & Friend

Nature: Somewhat stubborn, cheeky, holding a maturity never seen in him before, with a Competitive streak still present from time to time, especially when it comes to outwitting his best friend, Iceman.

Current Affiliation: X-Men, Resident

Previous Affiliation: Brotherhood, for a short time.

HISTORY

His early years are best left forgotten, undocumented, unmapped, and never asked about again, for if ever asked John Allerdyce will tell you he wasn’t actually born until the age of six. Why? Because he was abandoned by his Australian parents at the tender age of four after the first and completely accidental manifestation of his powers. Only a small thing, setting alight the cot he had been sleeping in, after a nightmare awoke him from sleep, and, instead of comforting their little boy, telling him everything was alright, they gathered him up, drove the short distance and dumped him on the nearest police station steps. John has never seen or heard from them since, and nor does he ever want to.

Like most children who are abandoned for whatever reason by their parents, Pyro was in and out of foster homes for almost two years, until at the age of six, he was finally placed with an Australian family, now living in Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA. Although a single Mom, Nicole Cavanagh had long ago proven herself as a good foster mother, and her ability to be able to handle those with a certain addition to their DNA saw her chosen to take in a little boy who, although his manifestations were at this stage still far and inbetween, definitely fit that unique category.

With a daughter of her own also carrying the X-Gene, the friendship between the two young children was instant, Pyro there for many of the manifestations of his foster sister’s powers, including the one that would see her become his mentor and teacher of sorts, when she too became a fellow Pyrokinetic, able to create the flame as well as control it. As a result, she became a far better ‘lighter’ than any Zippo or standard could ever be, his limited fire manipulating abilities now growing at a steady rate as Mana taught him a lot, the very person to tell him to start using the imagination she’d already seen evident in some of his short stories. Create the creatures, bring them to life, and soon, John found himself controlling flames in ways he never thought possible, an unbreakable bond building between the two foster siblings, a telempathic link already present, merely growing stronger.

Although Pyro knew there was another friend in Mana’s life, he never actually met Remy until much later, after she’d escaped the Weapon X program…

From the moment the fire bug first met Colonel William Stryker he did not like him one little bit. There was something about the guy that was just plain wrong, and Mana agreed with him, especially after hearing what the Colonel said about her via the telempathic link she shared with her Mother. When Stryker disappeared never to be seen again, John just knew something was not right, a determination to keep his foster family safe swelling wholeheartedly within him. Unfortunately, even the best intentions can not be followed through, especially when he was down the back in the paddock with the horses when Stryker showed himself again, shortly after Mana turned sixteen.

Alone and weak, Mana was helpless to defend herself, Pyro and her mother feeling her desperate plea to stay away so they wouldn’t be harmed. But, of course, Pyro wouldn’t have it, mounting one of the horses and riding like the wind to get back to the house. Even if he had been on the fastest race horse known, no amount of speed would have gotten him there in time to stop the Chinook from lifting off with the best friend he’d ever had strapped, helplessly, aboard. John will never forget the desperation that coursed through him, able to do absolutely nothing but watch it disappear into the darkness.

During the time she was gone, Pyro kept busy, helping to comfort a distraught Nikki and wishing he could do more, going after her for one thing, but what could a twelve year old pyrokinetic do against a whole army? So, when, almost a year later, Mana did return home, John was beside himself with relief that, although she was somewhat different, considering what training and other things they'd put her through, both he and her mother finally had the answers as to where she'd been taken and whether they were actually ever going to see her again. The next time an attempt to capture Mana was made, this time by by Magneto‘s henchmen, Mystique and Sabretooth, Magneto intent on trying to coerce her to his cause, Pyro was there to help thwart them. This marked the first time John finally met the Cajun, a little suspicious of him initially, yet, soon realizing he too was someone he could trust.

Unfortunately, when the Master of Magnetism made an appearance himself, he achieved his goal of capturing Blade Girl, and Pyro as well, however, not for long, highly underestimating the protective instinct within his foster sister, her fueled by what he’d seen Erik do to first Gambit, then Pyro. After this, Mana decided to hit the road, to avoid any further danger to her family, and although Pyro did understand this, he begged her to take him with her. When she refused, he was hurt to his very core, a wound that would take more than being reunited with her once again to heal.

Two weeks after Mana left, Nicole had no choice but to find another more stable, more permanent home for the young man. He was soon sent to Xavier’s School For Gifted Youngsters, in Westchester, Salem Centre, New York, miles from where he had spent the most time of his life in one place. It was then the anger that would mark him as a Bad Boy truly began to build. There was no resentment towards his foster Mom for the decision she had made, only to the childcare system for not approving her as his official, permanent guardian. He never saw or heard from Mana again but he never for one minute forgot about her. Never for one moment erased her from his mind just because she wasn't around.

Almost seven years later, John did not know Mana was within the very mansion school that was now his home, until a much needed recharge saw their telempathic link reestablished and flung wide open once again. It wasn’t long before the fire bug saw his sister with his very own eyes, after so long, after all this time. At first, he let the anger spill towards her, the intensity of the reunion felt and seen by the gathering crowd around them. Eventually, John simply broke down, it clear he was beyond relieved to have his foster sister back in his life.

John soon started dating Skye Turner, aka Swann, her patience and love for him seeing the fire bug able to open up, it clear Skye was the best thing, next to his foster family, that’d ever happened to him. Seemed the mansion was a draw card for those he’d used to know, Gambit soon making it his place of residence also, Pyro and him picking up where they’d left off in regards to the friendship started many years ago.

Being so close to Blade Girl, Pyro was among those used to lure her back home after her arch Nemesis escaped into the mansion electrical system. Captured and trapped in a room in a sublevel not many in the mansion knew about, electrical energy was sent flowing through the entire room, in turn, through those held within it… torture, plain and simple… the pain excruciating, the will not to allow it be felt down the link he shared with Mana astonishing, yet, eventually he was too weak to keep his pain from being felt by her. He knew Nemesis’ plan would work, and was only thankful that Mana managed to figure out exactly how to defeat him.

After this infiltration, Pyro began to look forward to the arrival of his foster Mom’s newest addition, Volcano, to the mansion. In his eyes, a fellow fire maker is always greatly welcomed. His foster brother was fortunate enough to miss the infiltration by Nemesis, but, on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2005 the entire school went on a privately invited field trip to a new museum opening up on the outskirts of New York.

It turned out that they weren’t the only ones invited, and soon, the true reason for this museum, and the invite sent out to both the Brotherhood Superiorum, Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters, and other known mutants, became apparent, as the Brotherhood and the X-Men, faculty and students, as well as these others, worked side by side, in the different exhibits they were confined to, fighting for their lives against a museum that’d just locked down and come alive. Pyro found himself locked in the Stargate exhibit, along with Volcano, Mist, Swann, and the Janus Twins, fighting for his life against robotic Jaffa in a scene reminiscent of being ambushed after just stepping through the Stargate, as well as Replicators aboard a ship when the computer decided to test them further and change the rather sophisticated holograms within the exhibit.

It soon became apparent that Pyro was not one of those chosen, for his ability to only control the flame was seen as a weakness, and he was bashed against a wall, and thrown directly in front of oncoming Replicators while behind him his girlfriend, who had been chosen, was taken. Caught by Alexa, one of the Janus Twins, Pyro tried not to give into his fatigue and pain, to help protect one of Swann’s best friends, Mist, after he realised his foster brother had been taken too… but his attempts were to no avail.

It only seemed that he was unconscious long enough for The Janus Twins to think he was out cold. He soon opened his eyes when he heard the sounds of the exhibit walls, between each area, lowering and the holograms switching off. Soon, along with those others that either hadn’t been chosen, or had mistakenly been thought not to be among those powerful enough, he found himself fighting more than just what had been inside the Stargate exhibit… every area within the museum merging into one.

The last thing any of them were expecting was for the museum to just suddenly stop what it was doing; for the attacking and fighting to cease, and the computer voice they’d been hearing many, many times to announce it had merely been a malfunction! Yeah right!

When Mana arrived with Prism and a few others, they went after what had since been discovered to be a ship that’d been connected to the roof of the museum… soon everyone was back with them, and most of them merely with emotional harm, more than physical… including St. John Allerdyce, because once he learned it was a couple of humans behind the entire thing, an anger that’d been held so deeply within him, and most of the time in control, began to rear its head more often than not.

Eventually allowing himself to just flow away with the side of him that hated the restrictions set upon him by the rules of the Xavier Mansion; that wanted to do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted; he finally gave the most intimate part of himself to the girl he promised he would do the right thing by, partly because he believed what his foster Mom and Sister had taught him, and partly because he just wanted to make sure everything was perfect the first time.

Almost two days later… in-between that time, John’s smile disappeared, his anger grew, turning into intense bitterness, leading him to do something that gave the first true signs that he was changing… the nice Pyro disappeared, as he turned on everyone that cared for him the most.

Soon deflecting to the Brotherhood, John was apart of things he once promised he’d never have anything to do with. It wasn’t long before his foster sister, Mana, his ex girlfriend (whom he’d recently found out was pregnant with his child), and a few others close to Pyro went after him, Swann’s death finally snapping him out of his current stubborn and angry stage. It was only his future daughter's powers that were able to save Skye, thanks to Snow coming back in time to warn them about where his choice to leave for the Brotherhood would one day lead him.

Once back at the mansion, John spent his time making up for his mistakes, apologising to as many as he could, and trying to mend the friendships broken because of the choice he made.

During this time, he had the opportunity to prove himself a loyal X-Man once again;; on Tuesday, August 31st - Thursday, September 2nd, 2005, the Xavier mansion, along with every other mutant faction or individually known mutant, was attacked by human-sized Sentinels, some with the ability to transform into various machines, in the LeMasias’ second attempt to capture their Mutant Trophies. Although he did manage to get Swann and Jean into the secret tunnels, he himself was captured, there to witness the fact the mutant formerly known as Nemesis, the very person who’d tortured him to get to Mana, now going by the code name of Dark Voltage, wasn’t really working for the bad guys, simply there to thwart their attempts to keep those they managed to capture prisoners for long, as well as take down the plans of the LeMasias for good {the full Summary for these events can be found HERE!}

On Sunday, October 16th, 2005, an event occurred that will be forever held deep within his heart, Pyro finally marrying the love of his life, Skye Turner, AKA Swann. The ceremony was beautiful, the wedding reception was perfect, carrying the little surprise of Whoosh being discovered, and the day went off without anything or anyone interrupting it. The newly weds were soon enjoying their honeymoon... alone, together, as husband and wife, awaiting the birth of the little girl they've already seen grown up.

On the night Man’s Best Friend attacked New York City, December 31st, 2005 through to the morning of January 1st, 2006, Pyro was in his apartment with his heavily pregnant wife. Even though he hadn’t wanted her to, he was soon fighting by her side against dogs bent on tearing them apart, protecting some of the students, getting them down to the Danger Room, where Skye soon went into an early labor, induced by the stress and intensity of the situation. Swann, refusing to have her baby in front of everyone within the simulation now running within the Danger Room, was eventually taken to the Medlab, where their baby daughter spent many, many hours refusing to come out.

Only after begging Mana to come help them did Skye find the extra courage she needed to use her Telekinesis to push her baby girl out, Terra Rose Allerdyce coming into the world during a night that’d changed the very face of New York City forever.

Now, Pyro is enjoying the role of being a father, even though sometimes he still reckons he’s not doing a very good job of it…

SAMPLE ROLE PLAY

At the top of the Foyer staircase he held Terra close to his chest, so she could hear his heat beating, trying to sooth whatever it was that was currently causing his little one to be so upset. Nothing he offered her worked, not even the sound of his voice, and as her father, he could not help but worry that perhaps he wasn’t handling this right. Wasn’t he supposed to know when she was suffering and for what reason at all times? How could he possibly know that?

“Oh come on little one, what’s wrong?” he asked her, hand gently stroking the back of her head, Terra now quietly crying rather than screaming as she had been just before. Walking down the stairs, he gently rocked her up and down, hoping that getting out of their apartment and taking her for a walk would help calm her and that whatever it was would pass soon. Almost at the bottom, the quietness was suddenly ruptured by the sound of the little girl letting out a wail of what Pyro felt as literal despair after taking a breath.

He held her out in front of him, looking down at her face, “Terra baby, it’s okay,” he whispered softly. “Daddy’s here. I wish you could tell me what’s wrong…” ~Damnit how I wish that,~ he thought, cradling her in his arms and tightening the pink blanket around her a bit more. Terra’s crying stopped for as long as it took for her to look at her father, before she started again, rejecting the offer of her dummy, John hoping that a stop by the kitchen to warm up a bottle of the formula stashed in there as well as back in their apartment would help her to finally go to sleep.
