Dr. Jackal but just completely transformed into this.
Play-By: Ioan Gruffudd
PERSONAL INFORMATIONCharacter Name: Jeckel von Weiss
Aliases: Jack White, Caerleon Delacroix, Vlad Dracul/Vlad Ţepeş (and many many more)
Nickname/s: Jack, Jackal
Current Codename: Scourge, The Blood Contractor
Previous Codename: Lachend Leiche (Laughing Corpse in German - very old name)
Age: Unknown (appears in his mid 30s, speculated to be about 130 years old but is actually over 600)
Height: 5'11"
Build: Slim, wiry
Hair: Black (varies in shade), short and messy
Eyes: Violet (varies in shade)
Appearance: Jeckel has a lithe figure, slim and lightly muscled. His complexion is smooth and fair. He can alter the shades of his hair, eyes, and skin tone through his power over manipulating his blood (mainly shades of brown and red for his hair, his eyes are the same but can also turn shades of blue since blue and red make purple-- his 'natural' eye color. If he wanted he could even make them appear blood red if he forces enough blood into his pupils and hair follicles). As he uses his powers his skin also becomes more and more pale.
Jeckel has a thing for flare and often wears a 3 piece vintage style suit and overcoat accented with decorative cuff links, jewelery, scarves and additional layers typically in shades of brown, black, purple, and red.
Relatives: Unknown - Presumed Deceased
Current Occupation: Special Mercenary (Only does high end retrieval and transportation jobs. People, items, information, etc)

Curriculum: None
Non-Curriculum: Jeckel is a master fencer and skilled in nearly all forms of melee weapons and close range combat. He is also a skilled pianist and sings an exquisite tenor.
Education: Jeckel has no formal schooling but he has read countless books and texts to be the intellectual equivalent to any top ivy league graduate. He is able to speak fluently in several different languages and can read and write most of them. (All main languages within Europe, as well as Japanese and Chinese - he also knows some of the dead dialects). He has also learned the ins and outs of computer technology due to necessity... and boredom. (he doesn't know enough to manually hack into computers but he is able to utilize external devices and upload programs that would do that for him, it just takes slightly longer to get the job done)
Resources: Old money, savings from past jobs, underground connections throughout Europe, the Middle East, Japan and China, anything his clients provide.
X-GENE MUTATIONJeckel is an Omega level mutant. All aspects of his mutation involve his blood, listed are the various abilities he can do with it along with a corresponding weakness to each with overall weaknesses listed at the end.
Blood Toxicity:
Not an ability per say but a result of Jeckel's mutation. His blood has extremely high levels of lead, mercury, and arsenic. All of these are toxic to the average human and most mutants so extended contact with his blood can be fatal if medical attention is not received. (note: People are perfectly fine to be around him, it's just his blood coming into contact with skin or accidentally ingested that it's a danger -- mutants / mutates with healing factors are not effected. It's essentially the same as someone suffering from lead, mercury, or arsenic poisoning.)
Note: Jeckel's blood is toxic to his own heart, which is why the organ was purged from his body at the time his powers manifested. It is still directly linked to his body, as it beats his blood flows. So essentially, if you were to take his vitals, Jeckel would have a pulse, but no heart beat.
Pain Indifference: Similar to Jeckel's blood toxicity, his indifference to pain is not a power but a result of his mutation that effects his body. Much like the variant of the disorder (
CIP Jeckel does perceive the intensity and type of pain but lacks the appropriate response, he does not flinch or withdraw when exposed to pain inflicted on his body. This occurred at the point where Jeckel's mutation manifested and he his heart was purged. Inflicting damage upon his heart, however, leaves him in a state of debilitating pain amplified throughout his body, as if every nerve ending was attached to it.
Blood ForgingManifestation: Jeckel can manipulate the unnaturally high levels of iron as well as the more toxic properties of lead, mercury, and arsenic in his blood stream to forge such things as swords, daggers, axes and the like. He has complete control over these weapons akin to a telekinetic in that he can maneuver them through the air without physically touching them and can propel them on a whim toward whomever is his unfortunate target.
Weakness: He can only expel so much blood at once or begins to suffer from the effects of anemia and must recall the blood back into his body.
Black BloodManifestation: At will Jeckel can change the properties of his blood turning the smooth flowing liquid into a thick black tar like corrosive substance that can eat through virtually any material and will continue to do so until Jeckel makes it stop. Metals take slightly longer to corrode than organic material. (it cannot corrode adamantium).
Weakness: Jeckel is not immune to the black blood and is susceptible to its destructive properties. Once the blood has turned black he cannot undo the change, the blood is lost to him and he cannot control it (once he stops the corrosion the blood is 'dead').
Blood GuiseManifestation: By absorbing 8 ounces of blood Jeckel can assume the appearance of whomever the blood is from for up to 24 hours. The blood is absorbed through the skin, he does not need direct contact, although it's quicker that way, he can absorb it through his clothing (traces remain in the fibers which allows the clothing to take on the appearance of the person he's impersonating). Once the blood has run it's course through the next 24 hours he cannot assume the appearance again unless he's acquired more of the same blood. Jeckel does not have nearly the control over other's blood as he does his own but he can 'call' spilled blood to him from a short distance.
Weakness: The blood guise is not perfect, it is merely a physical illusion, the scent of Jeckel's blood remains the same (so if he uses any of his abilities mutants with sharp senses like Wolverine could easily sniff him out). Jeckel can ONLY mimic appearance, he cannot mimic mutant powers since it does not work on a genetic level.
Trace TeleportationManifestation: Anywhere Jeckel leaves a small concentrated vial or his mark in blood he can teleport to it up to a collective distance of 50 thousand miles (he can go around the circumference of Earth twice if he used nearly every ounce of blood). Traveling that great a distance, however, would leave him incapacitated for a time. The marks are typically nothing special, a thumb print (1ml or larger) sized spot of blood and the distance he can teleport is based on the length of the blood vessels that run through his body and the blood within them that is consumed upon arrival (the mark is not consumed). The distance from the mark at which he arrives can be up to a 12 inches away. He can also use this ability to teleport to his own blood forged weapons or spilled blood (he doesn't have to actually make a mark, it just has to be enough blood in one spot to teleport to).
Weakness: The more he teleports, and the longer the distance he travels, the more his blood is consumed so if he travels too far or too much in succession he quickly becomes anemic and weak for a time while his blood replenishes itself. If the mark is destroyed (burned, worn or washed away) Jeckel can not teleport to it, if someone's clothing is marked and removed he will only port to where said clothing is left.
Note: On jobs he will often sent a sealed stationary with his name, a spot of his blood, and a number on it. Once the number is called he teleports to the location it was delivered.
Accelerated Healing / Regeneration / Immortality:Manifestation: Essentially, if there is an ounce of blood left, Jeckel can regenerate from it, albeit the process takes a long time (10-15 years). If his heart is in tact and beating the process is then sped up a thousand fold. Damage inflicted upon Jeckel's body is healed almost immediately, blood is drawn back toward the body to be replenished, severed limbs are easily re-attached. Completely destroyed limbs take longer to re-grow and can take from 12-24 hours depending on how much bone was lost (the loss of bone marrow lowers his blood replenishment which makes for slower regeneration).
Weaknesses: If Jeckel's body is destroyed, all but an ounce of blood, his heart goes dormant while the body slowly regenerates leaving him in a corpse like stasis until the heart is stimulated to beat once again. Jeckel's heart can be damaged but is immediately healed afterward (only causing a slight hiccup in Jeckel's regeneration, but also causes him debilitating pain for a short time). If Jeckel's heart were to be put back into his body he would be put into a state of constant death and revival as his heart beats the blood passes through, poisoning it, leaving him deathly ill for a short time before his body shuts down only to be revived and repeat the process again and again.
Telepathy ResistanceManifestation: The genetic mutation to Jeckel's blood makes it rather difficult to penetrate his mind through the blood brain barrier. It would be the telepathic equivalent of attempting to traverse white water rapids. One could catch glimpses of memories, thoughts and the like in no particular order and it would be difficult to make sense out of. If a strong focus isn't maintained the telepath could easily 'drown' and be forced, rather painfully, out of his mind. It's not a very pleasant experience.
Control: Passive, and although Jeckel can strengthen or weaken the resistance consciously he cannot remove it completely.
Overall Control: Expert, Omega Level, Jeckel has mastered nearly every aspect of his genetic mutation throughout the years he's been alive.
Overall Weakness: Since all of Jeckel's abilities utilize his blood he cannot overtax himself by doing too much at once or suffer the effects of acute anemia, leaving him weak and subject to blackouts while his body replenishes the lost blood cells. Jeckel's heart is his main weakness. Separated from his body the heart still beats giving his body life. While the heart cannot be destroyed any damage inflicted upon it Jeckel will feel the pain amplified throughout his body. Both Jeckel and his heart are susceptible to extreme cold. If parts of Jecke's body are frozen the blood cannot flow, if his entire core body temperature is lowered his blood slows, weakening him. If his heart is frozen and ceases to beat, Jeckel's body becomes a corpse and will remain in that state until the heart is stimulated to beat once again.
Note: Jeckel does not know where his heart is, and doesn't particularly care, unaware of who currently possesses it. All he knows is that it's beating. He can 'hear' the heart beat if he is close enough to it but otherwise he cannot sense the location of the organ.
PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILEPersonality: Jeckel enjoys watching people and toying with them, acting as the devious director of the never ending play that is life. He loves to set the stage of disaster and watch as chaos unfolds. He loves this world that he is in, and absolutely adores watching as the 'civilized' people begin to eat each other. It doesn't take much to tip the balance. Madness is like gravity, all it takes it a little push and everything tumbles down.
Because of everything that he's ever experienced and known, Jeckel believes that he cannot die, or if he does he doesn't stay dead, which makes him a very whimsical character. He does not particularly care about anything other than his own entertainment and amusement. The world is the stage, a play for him to watch, act a part in, and direct. He will act the villain or the hero, it doesn't matter to him, it is whichever outcome he feels would be more amusing in the end.
Jeckel is always up for a good fight as well, always testing the limits of his abilities. Any worthy opponent will be praised and sought after over and over again if only to pass the endless time. He favors those who have a lust for blood and violence, the ones who are willing to throw absolutely everything into the fight.
Demeanor: Casual, polite, shrewd, ruthless, whimsical.
Nature: Hedonistic, ultimately in the pursuit of his own amusement.
Current Affiliation: Himself (none at the moment)
Previous Affiliation: Himself.
HISTORYJeckel is a mutant who has lived over several centuries. Born c. 1400s he had played a pivotal roll in in the life of Vlad Dracul, also known as Vlad the Impaler, from aiding the man behind the shadows to even impersonating him throughout some of his historical acts. Of course none of this is noted in the history books and there is no known records of Jeckel's life before his long 'sleep' and 'resurrection'.
Unaware of his mutation, all Jeckel knew was that he ultimately could not die. He felt no pain and he had the powers of what the people would claim as the devil's work. He did know that his heart caused him pain, and hid the vital organ away in an unnamed crypt long ago. Over the years Jeckel did as he felt he should. He played the hero, he played the villain, he played the watcher, and the advocate. At one time he even took a lover in an attempt to start a family, but as the years progressed she grew sickly and nothing they tried ever seemed to help. Unaware that it was his own mutation that caused her suffering. She died in agony and he did not even shed a tear, it was simply another act in the play to him.
Not long after, a short intermission in his life, he began to act out the legends and folklore of the times. Using his powers to fool with the minds of the people. One of his favorites was that of the Vampire. People formed cults around him and he found himself entertained by their acts, encouraging them to follow their darkest desires. They would commit sins and offer sacrifices to his power. At first he found it entertaining, but in the end he grew bored if their acts and had them fight one another before finally slaying the rest of them himself.
It wasn't long before the people began to hunt him down, and he allowed it. Believing he could not die he wanted to see just what they could accomplish and how far they would go. Their first attempts were nothing short of amusing. A stake through the chest where his heart should have been was laughable, holy water quirked a brow, and garlic only caused him to sneeze. He was chained up and starved, tortured, hung, drowned, and impaled. Finally they had sealed him away in a tomb and left him to rot. That wouldn't do at all. He spent his nights escaping from his prison in silence and stealth continuing to torment the people making them increasingly paranoid.
After several months of this they finally re-opened his tomb intending to put an end to his evil. Nothing was said as they started hacking his body into pieces. Each limb cleaved through, every joint severed and nailed into place keeping him from regenerating. All the while he laughed, well until his throat was slit and tongue cut off. The people then set fire to his tomb, unaware of the blood that seeped through the cracks in the floor and thought that this monster was finally dead. Everyone involved with his 'death' quickly became ill and suffered horribly before their deaths after having been in contact with his blood that had painted the floor, walls, and ceiling of his tomb.
It was in this tomb that he remained, slowly rebuilding his body over the years as his heart remained dormant. His regeneration took over a decade and he remained a in tact corpse until his heart, having long ago been discovered and passed hands, was delivered to someone sinister. That someone inadvertently stimulated his heart into beating again and waking him from his long sleep. A resurrection of sorts, time to start a new. It was c. 1880s and nobody knew who he was and the times had changed. He spent the first few years simply traveling and observing until he found his new form of entertainment: acting as a mercenary. He wasn't particularly fond of any assassination jobs, as most proved far too easy and boring. He took to taking the jobs that required more finesse, retrieval. Jobs that took more time, more thought and he often took more than one job at a time just to make it more interesting.
That is how he came to be where he is now, in the United States. First taking a job from the Crestmeres, who hired him to capture and transport mutants to their facility as well as intending to ship the lot of them off to a more secure location. At the same time he took a job from one Nathaniel Essex, Mr. Sinister, to retrieve all the data gathered and stored within the very same Crestmere facility.
SAMPLE ROLE PLAYJeckel sat, the warmth of the fire cascading over his form, perched at the end of the bed. Lithe pale fingers traced the hem of her gown. She’d finally stopped breathing earlier that morning, her suffering finally over. She looked too still and beautiful he couldn’t make himself leave her side and yet he felt no heart ache at her passing. Maybe that was due to his heart being buried far from here. He thought he loved her, he certainly enjoyed the times they spent together.
She knew this would happen though. She had once told him that she knew he didn’t really love her but what she had was enough for her. Jeckel supposed he should have felt bad about that, but in the end he did not. It was all like watching a tragic scene in a play, and the intermission was coming up next. He stood then and approached around the other side of the bed. Fingers brushed long raven curls from her face before he placed a tender kiss on her brow. She was the epitome of beauty that was for certain. Oh how he wished he did love her, that the loss meant something.
“Maybe we’ll meet in the next life, eh?”His tenor lilted, having developed a sort of ‘generic‘ European accent. Sensual to listen to but unable to place to one language. He laughed at the afterthought, what next life? His life, this performance, never ended. It was time for the next act, and so he stood casting one last glance at the woman he wished he loved before he grabbed his coat. In the breast pocket, safely kept, was the pocket watch she’d gotten him shortly before she fell ill. It was a practical item to keep, nothing sentimental.
He stepped out of the bedroom, the fire having spread licking across the floor, up the walls and to the ceiling. He’d set their home ablaze, the damp heavy wood taking longer to catch but now the fire was raging full force. He did not turn back once as he strolled down the tranquil path to their little cabin, whistling a merry tune with a skip in his step.
