Non-Curriculum: Charles is a genius with multiple doctorates. He is a world-renowned geneticist, an expert in mutation, possesses considerable knowledge of life sciences, and is the inventor of Cerebro. He is the leading authority on genetics, mutation, and psionic powers, and possesses considerable expertise in other life sciences. He possesses a Ph.D. in genetics, biophysics, and psychology. He is highly talented in devising equipment for utilizing and enhancing psionic powers.
During his travels in Asia, Xavier learned martial arts, acquiring "refined combat skills" according to Magneto. When these skills are coordinated in tandem with his telepathic abilities, Xavier is a dangerous unarmed combatant, capable of sensing the intentions of others and countering them with superhuman efficiency. He also has extensive knowledge of pressure points.
Education: PhDs in Genetics, Biophysics, and Psychology.
Resources: Xavier is a highly educated, wealthy man with many links and resources in high places, his school bringing in a steady income, among other things.
X-GENE MUTATIONTelepathy: Among the most powerful of known telepaths, Charles possesses the ability to read the minds of others and project his thoughts over a radius of approximately 402 km and, with extreme effort, and the help of psionic enhancing technology such as Cerebro, he is quite capable of extending that distance. Within close range, he can manipulate almost any number of minds for such simple feats. However, he can only take full possession of one other mind at a time, and must strictly be within that person's physical presence. He is one of the few telepaths skilled enough to communicate with animals and even share their perceptions.
Charles’ telepathy also enables him to teach others via their mind, making them feel and experience things they have not otherwise ever done in their lives. This is especially effective in the use of helping another to learn a language they have never before spoken by projecting what he knows into the language centre of their brain. Of course, this goes both ways, Charles able to read the mind of someone adept, therefore picking up on their native tongue himself.
Along with the above, Charles’ vast psionic powers enable him to manipulate the minds of others, warp perceptions to make himself seem invisible, project mental illusions, cause loss of particular memories or even total amnesia, and induce pain or temporary mental and/or physical paralysis in others by projecting powerful mental 'bolts,' enabling him to stun the mind of another person into unconsciousness or even cause death. These 'bolts' inflict damage only upon other minds.
Although he does need Cerebro to enhance his ability to sense the distinct mental brain waves and presences of other superhuman mutants, Charles is capable of feeling them on his own within a small radius of himself.
Control: Complete. The extent of the Professor’s ability to control minds was witnessed when he took control of all those within a museum after a rather interesting interaction with some of his younger X-Men ensued, and it was the only way to ensure he and the rest of those from his school present left without any further trouble being caused. Basically, he trapped them in a loop, tricking their conscious minds into thinking they were still in that second so they didn't notice the moment.
It must be pointed out that the manner in which Xavier's powers function indicates that his telepathy is physical in some way, as it can be enhanced by physical means, namely Cerebro, and can be disrupted by physical means, for example, Magneto's alteration of the Earth's magnetic field and his specially made helmet to keep those like the Professor out of his mind.
Astral Form: Since Mana4X2 is a movie based RPG for the most part, and other dimensions are a banned character concept, Charles’ ability to project an image of himself is simply used when he physically cannot be there. For example, while back in Cerebro, Xavier projected a mental image of himself to keep Magma distracted and in one place until his X-Men arrived to help her, trying his best to calm her down at the same time.
Control: Again, many years to ensure this is complete, however, is greatly amplified when he is connected to Cerebro, for he can make it last for as long as he needs, whereas by himself, he would need to project his image at intervals, needing the time inbetween to regather his concentration and strength.
Overall Weaknesses: Explained above, as well as the fact his strict moral code will not allow him to read anyone’s mind without their direct permission, unless it is a life or death situation, or they are a danger to themselves or others. Even though he is extremely powerful, Charles himself is not impervious to psionic attacks, but due to the fact he is a very powerful mutant they would either have to be more powerful than he is, trick him, or attack him while he is in a weakened state.
PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILEPersonality: Charles is one of the kindest and gentlest of people anyone will ever meet in their lifetime. A wealthy man who could quite easily have let this fact go to his head, being proud and thinking high of himself couldn’t be any further from the truth. All his wealth has gone into building a safe haven for mutants, doing all he can to ensure a secure and happy future for them.
He sees himself as a guide and mentor where one was gravely needed. His choice is to protect the future of both mankind and mutant in the best way that he knows how, guiding the very people that will play an instrumental role in that future, subsequently, his door is always open. If there is a mutant in need, he will be there, making sure that every presence he is aware of is immediately tracked by Cerebro, yet never stepping in to tell them where they should go unless he is needed.
The complete opposite in his views to his once close friend, Erik Magnus Lensherr, Charles believes in a future where mutant and mankind can live in peace, and just recently, due to a night of horror where his X-Men proved that not all mutants are something to be frightened of, he’s beginning to see that dream come alive.

HISTORYCharles Xavier's crippled body serves as a constant reminder of his troubled past -- fraught with pain, loss and the bitter sting of oppression. The son of nuclear researcher Brian Xavier and his wife, Sharon, Charles experienced the emergence of his telepathic powers while still a boy. Following her husband's accidental death, Sharon married Brian's colleague, Dr. Kurt Marko. Cain, Kurt's son by a previous marriage, came to live at the Xavier's Westchester mansion shortly thereafter. Kurt quickly grew neglectful of Sharon, driving her to alcoholism, and abusing both Sharon and Cain. Cain ended up taking his frustrations and insecurities out on his stepbrother, the untrained Charles feeling his sibling's pain firsthand, because he as yet could not control his fledgling abilities or terminate his contact with Cain's mind. Sharon died soon after, and a fight erupted between Cain and Charles that caused some of Kurt's lab equipment to explode. Mortally wounded, Kurt dragged the two children out before dying himself.
With help from his powers and his natural genius, Xavier became an excellent student and athlete, though he gave up the latter, believing his powers gave him an unfair advantage. He graduated with honors at the age of 16 from Harvard University. As a college freshman, Xavier resided in Wigglesworth Hall H-11. In graduate studies he received Ph.D.s in Genetics, Biophysics, and Psychology with a two year residence at Oxford University. He was later appointed Adjunct Professor at Columbia University.
While enrolled in the graduate-studies program at England's prestigious Oxford University, he met and fell in love with a young Scotswoman named Moira Kinross. Of all their classmates, Charles and Moira were the only ones who understood the ultimate implications of genetic mutation. Their passionate discussions on the subject gave way to an equally passionate romantic relationship, and the two planned to be married. Standing in their way was Moira's former boyfriend, Joe MacTaggert, a lance corporal in the Royal Marines -- and a bully and thug, just like Cain. In Joe's eyes, Charles was an effete, good-for-nothing intellectual. To prove him wrong, to validate himself in terms his rival would understand, Charles enlisted in the military after completing his studies at Oxford.
Drafted into the Korean War, he carved himself a niche as a soldier in search and rescue missions alongside Shadowcat's father, Carmen Pryde, however his powers saw him take a long time to get over the mental horrors he experienced as his fellow soldiers were maimed and killed around him. It was the search and rescue missions that eventually gave him a way to cope. Attached to the same unit as his stepbrother, Charles was present when Cain discovered the ruby-like technology that gave the Juggernaut psionic powers that he would later lose.
Crushed when Moira broke off their engagement without explanation, Charles traveled abroad after leaving the Army. While in Cairo, Egypt, he clashed with Amahl Farouk -- a.k.a. the Shadow King, a mutant capable of summoning forth the darkness in the souls of others. This confrontation led to Charles' decision to devote his life to protecting humanity from evil mutants bent on world domination and safeguarding innocent mutants from human oppression.
Charles next traveled to Israel, where he fell in love with Gabrielle Haller, an Israeli diplomat. Also, he befriended fellow drifter Erik Magnus Lehnsherr, the mutant who would become his greatest enemy and rival: the genetic terrorist known as Magneto, Master of Magnetism. Charles espoused his optimistic belief that Homo sapiens and Homo superior could coexist, but, largely due to his witnessing the events of the Holocaust, Magnus foresaw mutants as the new minority to be persecuted and hunted because of their differences. After Gabrielle was kidnapped, due to her knowing the location of Nazi Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, the two friends revealed their powers to each other when they foughy the Baron and his HYDRA agents. Magneto attempted to kill Strucker but was stopped by Xavier. Realizing that his and Xavier's views on mutant-human relations were incompatible, Magneto left with the gold, Charles staying in Israel for some time, but he and Gabrielle soon separated on good terms, neither knowing that she was pregnant with his son, who grew up to become the mutant Legion.
Arriving in London, Charles renewed his friendship with Moira, who had married Joe MacTaggert and was now a renowned geneticist. The two began to discuss the idea of founding a school for mutants. En-route to the United States, Charles encountered his stepbrother, bent on revenge, Cain attacked him, intent on ending the life of the man he hates the most. In the ensuring melee, Charles destroyed the ruby technology that gave Juggernaut his psionic powers, and in return, Cain used his immense strength to send his stepbrother smashing into a rocky outcrop, the impact causing severe damage to the lower part of the Professor’s spine, paralyzing him from the waist down and therefore forcing him into a wheelchair for the rest of his life.
Professor X's first student was 11-year-old Jean Grey, traumatized when she telepathically experienced the emotions of a dying friend. Charles helped Jean recover and taught her to use her telekinetic powers. Following his success with Jean, he embarked on his long-held plan to locate young mutants and enroll them in his School for Gifted Youngsters. Professor X even converted his ancestral mansion, located at 1407 Graymalkin Lane in Salem Center, Westchester County, New York, into a base where he could train them to use their powers for humanity's benefit. After the arrival of Scott Summers -- a modern-day Cyclops and cursed with uncontrollable optic blasts - and during the months that followed, Professor Xavier began to assemble others that would make up the original X-Men. Among these were, Warren Worthington III (Angel), Ororo Monroe (Storm) and of course, Jean Grey (eventually to be known as Phoenix), and Scott Summers (Cyclops).
As a young mutant, Charles Xavier dedicated his life to the attainment of peaceful coexistence between Homo sapiens and Homo superior. He has seen this dream nearly snuffed out on countless occasions, but, even after all the set backs, including Angel leaving to further his father’s business, and the seeming endless cycle, his X-Men continue their fight to make his vision a reality -- raging against hate, prejudice and the oppression of mutant kind. It was after Scott, Ororo, and Jean returned from a night at the movies that he found out about a mutant who seemingly possessed varying powers, and was also being targeted by the Brotherhood. For eight, consecutive days, Charles tried to locate this young woman using Cerebro, but to no avail, as he soon realised she somehow possessed the ability to shield herself.
Almost unbelievably, just a week later Rogue and Iceman burst into his office, trying to tell the Professor that there was a very weak mutant in the stable loft; a mutant who turned out to be the very woman they had been trying to locate. Shortly after Jean, Ororo, and Scott brought her into the Med Lab, Xavier returned to Cerebro to try to enter the young girl’s mind to see what was causing her unconscious state. Again, this proved to be futile as in this weakened state her natural defence blocked even him.
That same night, just after Jean told him not to stay up too late, Charles picked up on another mutant seemingly suffering from the same problems as the unknown woman. He sent his X-Men out to pick him up. The Wolverine was there to greet Blade Girl when she woke up, hence reuniting two of who would soon prove to be among the most trusted of Professor Charles Xavier's X-Men.
Blade Girl may have been the first, but she was not the last mutant discovered with an exceptional array of powers, all different yet somehow combined. Since her arrival, Charles has embarked on studies and tests to find out not only why this new and extensive leap in the evolution of mankind has taken place, but also what it will mean to the future of mutantkind.
Towards the end of 2004, Charles was taken by surprise, knocked unconscious and locked away while Mystique infiltrated the mansion in the guise of the Professor. To this day no one fully understands what Magneto was trying to achieve in sending his master omnimorph to the Xavier mansion, however, some surmise it may have had something to do with the Juggernaut being safely secure in a specially made area with the cell sublevel. Or perhaps, she was simply there to gather information on his X-Men… Charles knows he will never get the answers for certain.
Mourning the loss of one of his most trusted, and original, X-Men, Angel, Xavier passed the time doing what he does best, being the mentor he has always wanted to be to those still alive and well. It wasn’t long, however, when yet another danger presented itself at the school, this being in the form of a mutant genetically altered to counteract every one of Blade Girl’s power, Nemesis. His escape saw the school go into lockdown, Nemesis getting into the power grids and the very core that controlled the entire mansion.
He was taken care of when the very mutant he was after returned form her holiday home in Colorado Springs, Xavier knowing back then that he had not seen the last of the mutant formerly known as Nemesis… some welcoming Dark Voltage into the school, some still very cautious. However, in his mind,
ALL mutants deserve a second chance, no matter what they may have done in the past.
The days past without another hitch, however, on Wednesday, March 2nd, 2005, Xavier found himself dealing with the fear and anxiety one gains with the knowledge he had sent most of his students and teachers into a trap at a newly opened
Museum; a trap that led to the capture of many, the fighting for their lives of others, and a rescue mission that saw all returned safely, and an extra ally and teacher added to their midst. Of course, some were also lost, Pooka having gone missing for quite some time, and Epooch still missing, believed to be with the Brotherhood.
What was to follow in the days after these events was the gradual, and very real, sensation that something was deeply wrong. Professor Charles Francis Xavier is currently deeply worried… he would like to believe that Polaris had left due to some personal issues, however, deep down, he knew this wasn’t the truth, yet, when trying to locate her using Cerebro, there is nothing… a barrier holding him off. Muse’s kidnapping by Magneto had him emotionally in a turmoil even though he would never admit or show this to anyone else, and the fact Myles was so lost within the recesses of his mind was something else to worry about. It did not help that the once gentle librarian was soon taken by Apocalypse and changed into one of his Horsemen and that later too, he was to learn that this was also the case with Polaris, and Prism, who would later be revealed to be Mana’s daughter, not her sister as first thought.
Charles has been a stalwart for many at the Xavier mansion, someone involved in almost all aspects of the major happenings, so to spend time writing out everything would mean page after page of everything the Professor has experienced and felt along with his X-Men. Changes of affiliation, mutants coming and going from the school, hatred, anger, the betrayal of one of his own, Pyro, something he knew had been coming, and the follow up to the LeMasias first attempt at capturing their Mutant Trophies, for it had been them behind the museum invite and the subsequent events that followed.
On Tuesday, August 31st - Thursday, September 2nd, 2005, the Xavier mansion, along with every other mutant faction or individually known mutant, was attacked by human-sized Sentinels, some with the ability to transform into various machines, in the LeMasias’ second attempt to capture their Mutant Trophies. It was then that the mutant formerly known as Nemesis, now going by the code name of Dark Voltage, was heard from again, only this time, he wasn’t really working for the bad guys, simply there to thwart their attempts to keep those they managed to capture prisoners for long, as well as take down the plans of the LeMasias for good. {You can find the full Summary for these events
HERE.!
The next major event in the Professor’s life was actually one to be treasured, Pyro, the very young man that‘d turned his back on the X-Men for the Brotherhood, now back with them and slowly making progress at redeeming himself, and another of his younger generation of X-Men, Swann, finally tying the knot on Sunday, October 16th, 2005 in a wedding ceremony that was simply beautiful. It was at their reception that little Rosie Johannsen, AKA Whoosh, was discovered in one of the delivery crates, something that did not interfere with the special day, but merely added that extra special element to it all.
It was the very next day after this, that Scott learned of the whereabouts of his brother once again, Charles agreeing to sending in a team to help those lured into the
Mutant Brawl scene. Relief came when, along with the team sent in to infiltrate and shut down the power to the cages, SHIELD stepped in and shut down this part of the HFC for good. The one thing that still has not been settled from this day is the disappearance of Cable and X-23, of which Charles has recently spoken with Nathan, shortly after the canine attacks, about bringing Laura home so he can help her regain some semblance of her fractured mind once again.
Shortly after this, towards the middle of October, Charles felt Amara Aquilla’s massive Level 5 potential power surge, trying to speak with her via Cerebro only to realise he needed to send some of his X-Men in to help her. Like Magma, Charles has been there for many, and will be there for many more to come.
On the night Man’s Best Friend turned on and attacked everyone within New York City, Charles had been sensing the unrest due to the recent three hours of constant barking and howling, and when everything went quiet, he finally found himself drifting off to sleep, only to wake up realizing the screams and feelings of intense pain that was not his own were not a part of his dreams. Professor X, along with the other telepaths of the mansion, was the first to feel what was happening, alerting his X-Men to the danger, and ordering everyone else to the safety of the Danger Room. Making it into his office he manually activated the shield, using his time altering powers to freeze two of the canines in a time bubble, and with help from some of his X-Men, getting them down to the medlab where they could figure out exactly what was wrong with them. Soon learning the key to what it was the X-Men, by now out in the field, had to do, Charles conveyed this by both telepathy and the Xjet’s comm system.
From then on, Charles helped many in the aftermath of these events, welcoming those that’d come in as apart of those rescued as well as a few that turned up after the events, to settle into the mansion. Professor Charles Xavier is seeing the fulfillment of his ultimate dream thanks to events that shook the nation, and the world. The President of the United states is advocating mutants rights where they were once advocating the Mutant Registration Act;; even going so far as to offering the X-Men an official place in the protection of the country, allies of the government called upon when needed to help where the normal military, and SHIELD, have no place.
How long this will last only time will tell. Whether Charles takes the President up on his offer will all depend on whether he can accept that it’ll be on the X-Men’s terms, not the President's own, for the most powerful telepath in the world is not about to hand his family over to the whims of a government once bent on seeing them all incarcerated, or dead. Then there is his X-Men themselves and everyone within the school to ask the following question of…
Do the X-Men allow themselves to be publicly known as… Agency X?
SAMPLE ROLE PLAY"Hello? Professor?" it was a very strange occurrence, or perhaps one that was to be expected, especially considering Charles Francis Xavier couldn’t possibly be in his office 24 hours a day. So, what could one, who was supposed to be the most powerful telepath in the world, do to make sure he never missed someone wishing to speak with him? Indeed, keep his mind open to his name being spoken and to a presence within his very office even if he was on the opposite side of the mansion at the time.
In this case, he was within the War Room, his morning spent talking directly with the President and the Director of SHIELD about this possible new partnership with the government, something of which Charles was still getting used to the fact the first step towards his ultimate dream of peace between mutants and humans may have finally began. It was strange that it’d had to take a severe city wide tragedy to make mankind realize that, just because there was a variation in their DNA, did not mean the homo-superior were not human in every other way.
Sacrifices had been made, and the President and Secretary of Defense had made sure to reiterate that over and over again during the public speeches and updates concerning the clean up and aftermath of the canine attacks. Even now, so long after the actual event, things were still happening… changes were coming, it was just all a matter of whether his X-Men would not only be agreeable to them, but ready for them as well.
With a gentle nudge to inform Flora he was about to speak within her mind, he said, *I will be there shortly, Sarah. In the meantime, please make yourself comfortable,* and by shortly, he would be leaving the War Room the moment he finished packing away the files and faxes that had been sent to him, some things already uploaded to the safety of the computer, hidden behind security coding and firewalls that not even the likes of Tepy would be able to break… well, before she was detected that was, of course, considering next to Sage, the young teen was a very powerful mutant indeed.
A few minutes had passed before the lift doors opened and Charles was able to maneuver his wheelchair towards his office, entering with a smile towards the plant manipulator. “Good morning Flora, what can I do for you?” he asked, heading around to behind his desk.
