X-GENE MUTATION

Muse has the power to manipulate anyone through an act of fear. Any sort of worry, anxiety, nervousness, or terror may be used. Dinah can enter a victim's mind while they are in an unnerved state, and "see" everything that they see. The victim never knows that they are actually a host for Dinah. From there, she can 'suggest' a course of action for them to follow through with. The victim then goes into a trance, trying to complete this task, and will not stop until they have either completed it or forcibly snapped out of it. (Ex. a severe blow to the head) She is also able to sense any unnerved state from any person within about a five mile radius.

Control: A great degree of control, however, no where near complete. Dinah can only control one person at a time, and cannot maintain a connection longer than about twenty seconds.

Weaknesses: While Dinah is inside a person's head and controlling them, their minds are connected. If Dinah was to recieve a blow to the head while she is doing this, then she and the person she is connected to may be forced into a coma or killed. Also, the longer Dinah stays in the person's head, the more worn-down she gets, and the more apt she is to fall unconscious.

Another weakness is her visions. If someone within the immediate area is in a state of terror, depending on her level on concentration, Dinah may not be able to control her senses, and will "see" as well as experience everything the other person experiences. Many times, Dinah is able to focus and snap herself out of the vision, but that is not always a guaranteed thing.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE

Personality: Dinah is a mystery, plain and simple. A tangled web of emotions, she has let her dealings with her father take a toll on her, and she can be extremely touchy. However, Dinah is generally very happy and loves goofing around. Often very physical, she can be misunderstood for a flirt when she is just trying to be friendly.

HISTORY

Dinah was born to Thomas and Audrey Hamilton in a smalltown outside of Savannah, Georgia. She was one of the girls people envied- was seemingly perfect. She never had boyfriends, but she didn't care. She had money, she was friendly, involved, cheered, had a great group of friends. They had fun, and were always busy causing mischief. Dinah had been active in sports her whole life, and trained herself in the art of judo before she even began cheering. However, her senior in high school, everything went wrong.

It was the NCAA regionals. The Indians were on the final roster. Dinah's parents were supposed to come and see her. Her father came and said that her mother would be coming late, but Dinah didn't mind. As their routine came on, Dinah was lifted into a full. As she was being thrown up, a horrible sight flashed before her.

A car was coming towards her. A swerve. Then the guard rail. The car sailed over it, and went straight down, towards the water. She looked in the mirrors and screamed, trying to get out as the car hit the water and began to sink. As she began losing consciousness, she saw her mother in the side mirror. She knew what she had seen. Dinah fell out of her stunt and tumbled to the floor, unconscious.

When she woke up in the hospital a few days later, her father was there. Dinah had been in a coma. Dinah told him that she'd seen her mother die in a car crash and drown. Tears poured down his face as he told her that her mother had infact died. They wept together at the hospital.

A short time later, Dinah was released, not able to walk good because of her sprained ankle. Dinah's father asked her if she'd had any more visions of her mother, and she told him no. However, Dinah began having more visions of people in fear... and as she had thoughts, she saw them carry them out. She had no idea what was going on.

They did everything they could to figure what was up. They seeked council from church, school, even the local psychic (much to Dinah's dismay- she thought the woman was a complete crackpot) but nothing worked. Eventually, Dinah's father told her to give up on the idea that they'd figure what was 'wrong' with her. So she worked to control her power, gaining control on it, and ignored it.

A few weeks later, she was cleaning her father's room when she came across bank records. A large sum of money had been written out to a man named Brent Parker. Dinah questioned her father, and he became angry with her and grounded her. Hurt and confused, Dinah packed up a few things and moved in with her sister Jaqueline. The next day, Dinah waited until her father had gone to work (He was a scientist for Stryker labs and helped to develop the technology that built the plastic prison that once held Magneto), and she returned to the house, snooping around to see who Brent Parker was. She found his name on phone records plenty of times, and even on the computer. She picked through recorded messages, and was angered to find that her father had actually hired the man to do the unthinkable - kill his wife.

Enraged, Dinah left the house, and tracked down the man to his apartment. Brent was there with his girlfriend. Dinah burst through the door, fists flying at Parker, and knocked him into the floor. His girlfriend came at her with a knife. Not even thinking, Dinah wrenched it from her and threw it. She meant to stick it in the wall (She is an excellent marksman) But unfortunately Parker ran in the way, to try and dodge it. He was killed instantly. Dinah began to cry, and the woman tried to jump her. Dinah turned and screamed at her to die. The woman backed up, with a blank expression, and jumped from the 9th floor balcony to her death. Dinah sank onto her knees and cried. Her father arrived, and tried to reason with her. When she attacked him, he pulled a gun and tried to shoot her. She knocked it from his hands and pinned him to the floor, choking him. She wanted him to die. She really did. She wanted him to stop breathing. And she was shocked when he proceeded to hold his breath until he was blue, even after she let go of him.

Terrified, she fled the apartment. With only a few things in hand, she left town to elude the police. Shortly after, she heard wind of Magneto's escape from Stryker labs. She had taken all of her father's work information, and wanted desperately to find out more about Magneto. She tracked down all of his co-workers in the Savanna Branch, and killed them off one by one to keep her secret. She didn't find much, so she traveled north to get to his main base of operations. It was there that she found out he was dead. Enraged, she decided to just stay up there, tracking the underground, hoping to hear more about Magneto.

It was there that she found more of Stryker's employees, including Dr. Jennifer Winslow, another associate of her father's. When Dinah attacked her, she was followed into an alley by Gambit, who happened to rescue Dr. Winslow, who had tried to make a jump (brought on by Dinah's control). A fallout between Rogue and Gambit occurred there. Rogue had wanted to kill Gambit (She was not herself) And other X-Men came to his rescue. One of the mutants that arrived was Quicksilver. He persuaded Dinah to come with them. She recognized him as Magneto's son, and having an alterior motive in mind, agreed to join them.

After being with the X-Men for a while, Dinah began to see the error of her ways, got her first boyfriend, and started to make positive changes to her life. She thought she could turn away and hide from everything she'd done-- but Magneto'd already had his eye on her. After kidnapping the fear chaser, the X-Men rescued the southerner and brought her back to the Institute. She had a long talk with the Professor, and agreed to stay under strict conditions brought on by the staff.

She left the school for a few months to move home with her sister Jackie and help settle finances and belongings from both of her parents. She had all of her charges cleared, and is currently living at the Xavier Institute attending her first year of college.
