X-GENE MUTATION

Can think and move at great speeds. His entire body is adapted to make up for it. His cardiovascular and respiratory system are lots more efficient than a normal human. He metabolizes about 95% of calories from foodstuffs (normal humans metabolize 25%). His body also does not produce fatigue poisons; his chemical by-products are excreted every time he breathes. His joints are more lubricated and his tendons are like steel springs. His bones also contain unknown substances that allow him to withstand his feet hitting the ground at 100mph+.

His brain processes information so quickly that he is able to keep up with his surroundings as he runs. His reflexes are 5x faster than that of a normal human, and his eyes are also stronger than a normal human's, so they are not damaged while he runs. He has been clocked at running over 175mph and can dodge bullets, pluck arrows out of the air, run across water, and up the side of a building.

Control: Great degree of control, thanks to training from his father.

Weaknesses: He can only run 1000ft across water before beginning to sink, and 300ft 90 degrees straight up before gravity kicks in and he starts to fall.

PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE

Personality: Pietro is very sure of himself. Think fast, do fast. He lives for the challenge and is always moving at a fast pace. He talks pretty fast, especially when he gets excited. Thus he goes into what Muse prefers to call "Pietro-speak" where no one can understand what he says. He gets bored easy. He's a very happy guy, but gets very insecure about his father, or when his stature in a group gets threatened. Overall, he's the one who should never, ever be given candy and sugar.

HISTORY

Pietro and Wanda, twins, were born to Erik and Magda Lensherr in the nation of Transia. It was not long after they were born that Erik discovered his power and the village they lived in went into a panic. Magda was killed here, and the twins were taken and raised by a band of gypsies. The twins did were not aware at this time that the gypsies they believed to be their parents were really caregivers their real mother had entrusted them to hide them from their father: Magneto.

When the twins were ten, the gypsy camp fell on hard times and when their 'father' began to steal food to feed his starving family, enraged villagers attacked the gypsy camp, killing everyone that they could find including both of their parents. The twins managed to escape, and for a time hid in the wilderness of the Balkan Mountains; they were found eventually and took to an orphanage where Pietro was adopted by an American couple, the Maximoffs.

He moved to New York City with them and attended school there. His powers developed early, and he hid them from his foster parents out of fear. It was his senior year in high school that Magneto found him at his school's basketball game. (He had heard wind of a fast runner at the school- he remembered the boy's great speed from when he was a child, and the white hair tipped him off.) Out of obligation, Pietro began to work for his father, and adopted the guise of Quicksilver.

He worked for him until he was 20 years old, and finally had enough. One night, when Pietro failed on an assignment to infiltrate the mansion with the manipulation chemical Stryker used on his mutants, he was backhanded by his father. Magneto persuaded Mystique to kill the boy, and when she failed, he attempted it himself, and Pietro fled to the mansion. Now he continues to live at the mansion, attempting to piece his life back together.

SAMPLE ROLE PLAY

(Again, please note that Kathryn was approved to play Quicksilver before bios were a necessity at Mana4X2... the below occurred in-game on Thursday Morning, January 6th, 2005...)

Pietro smiled at Betsy as he embraced his sister. It was such a relief that the man had left. Yeah, Wanda shouldn't have tried to hex him... for the donzenth time, but still. He was a threat to what they were trying to accomplish-- peace for Wanda, and a happy reunion for his family. That was something that he'd desperately hoped for ever since Magneto had locked Wanda away from them.

"Wanda... will you be coming home with us darling?"

His smiled brightened.

"Yes! Wanda, please, come home with us! You have no idea how much I've missed you... you'll have a home, Wanda! A real home!"

He took a breath, getting excited.

"See, Dad won't be able to get to us and hurt us like he used to do, and we can get our lives back on track, and you won't have to worry about stuff anymore because there's people that are gonna help us..."

He calmed down a little.

"Ah sorry I spoke so fast..." he grinned.

"It kinda happens a lot, you know... so whadaya say sis?"
