X-GENE MUTATIONGlow: Hope has the ability to radiate a glow from her body, almost like a lightbulb. It shines through her clothing and appears to be almost celestial. She may turn it off and on at will, and the light at times is so strong that it will light up any dark room.
Control: Has it for the most part controlled, but she can't make her physical body glow anymore.
Weaknesses: Now N/A in her physical body.
Astral Projection: Since her accident, Hope is able to project an image of herself. She is able to walk, float, hear and talk just like anyone else, except that she is more like a hologram. She is still able to emit a glow while in this form. She cannot do it from her physical body anymore, but she is able to emit the glow from her projected image.
Control: She is able to maintain her projection for a few hours at a time before having to rest. It does not take her long to rest up, (2 hours of projection = 2 hours of rest), but she cannot project herself just anywhere. She cannot go outside of the mansion grounds.
Weaknesses: Hope begins to wear down after long periods of projection and must stop to rest a while. Also, if her physical body dies, then her projection will die with her.
PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILEPersonality: Hope is rather mature. Her physical body is 16 years of age, however, she maintains the mind of a 12 year old. A very mature 12 year old. She has been through a lot in the past few years, and has experienced a lot. It's changed her, making her more open-minded and kind to others that are less fortunate, but she is still very naive about many things in the world, partly because she is not used to a lot of people being around, and also because she has not left the mansion grounds in 4 years.
Personality: Sheltered
Demeanour: Nosy
Nature: Sweet
Current Affiliation: X-Men, Students
Previous Affiliation: N/A
HISTORYHope LeVasseur was born in Paris, France to an American clothing designer and a freelance artist. Hope and her parents did not live in the city very long, because her mother began to grow weary of her high profile career. The family moved to the French countryside and resided there for about six years.
Later on, when Hope was 8 years old, she returned home from work with her father and discovered her mother dead in the hallway. The young French girl began to cry uncontrollably in the dark house with her father. She stopped suddenly and gasped as the room became lighter and lighter. They realized that the girl was glowing like a nightlight.
They kept quiet for a bit until Hope was able to calm down slightly and stop glowing, and then they called the police. An investigation was done, but no cause of death was ever determined for Anne. Jerome was convinced that the answer to his little angel's problems lay in America, in the land of Anne's family. They packed their few belongings and headed for New York City.
They lived in a small apartment there, Jerome continuing to paint while Hope went to public school and tried to improve her English. (Her mother rarely spoke it when she was alive, so Hope knew very little.) Her father worked with her through the evenings to try and regulate her glowing ability.
After a few years, when the girl was twelve years old, Jerome had almost given up. Her power of Astral projection had began to show up while she slept, and he was not able to help her. They had to move away again, and keep Hope from scaring all of their neighbours and getting them thrown out of the country. He contacted Professor Xavier for Hope, and decided to send her there.
Jerome took his daughter in a cab to the institute. As they approached a railroad crossing, the arms went down, signifying an approaching train. The cab driver became disgruntled about the wait and tried to pass the train before it came, but he didn't get across the tracks in time. Jerome was killed instantly, and Hope was thrown 75 feet from the crash site. It didn't kill her, but it placed her in a coma.
She was found unconscious by Kitty Pryde, a mutant from Xavier's, who heard the crash from a mile away. They took the girl back to the institute and put her on life support, hoping she would come out of her coma. No amount of healing was really helping her physical body. However, her mind seemed to work perfectly.
Not long after she was placed in the Medlab, a young girl was seen walking down the hallways and exploring the institute. Kitty was the first to notice the little French girl and start to speak with her. That was when it was realized that she was merely a projection, and the real girl was still in a coma.
She has stayed that way ever since, and has declared herself hostess of the mansion...
SAMPLE ROLE PLAY"Ah mon amour, mon amour doux, où hast tu allé à? Pourquoi hath tes yeux ont disparu de la vue de mon?"
A sweet and gentle voice could be heard echoing in the hallway. A young girl, who looked about 12 years old, padded gently down the hallway toward the front door. She smiled and glowed faintly as she remembered her mother Anne. Such a beautiful woman. How she missed France!
"Maman, why did you have to go with Pere..."
She walked through the heavy front door and let her small body float up to the rooftop. She tiptoed and leapt lightly across the shingles, careful not to touch the cracks (As to not break her back of course! How she loved these simple games!) And let herself bask in sunlight. She stopped and stretched a little, and then jumped into the oak tree near the roof, and crouched, letting herself "sit" against the trunk.
"Perhaps we will have new enfants come to play with me," she smiled sweetly.
