Heya all,
Just a quick message to let you all know that the lack of alert emails when a new post is put up in a thread you have sucribed to, as well as when you are sent a PM;; the lack of alerts when a new member has registered, as well as the validation emails, etc, are all a Yahoo Mail glitch, they have absolutely NOTHING to do with IF whatsoever.
How do I know this?
Because it has only been happening to those here with a Yahoo Email addy, as well as others I've spoken to through the Support Center. Apparently GMail, and probably all other email suppliers work perfectly;; all others bar Yahoo. I did try to contact them about this, as did another from the Support Center, however, instead of actually trying to understand what we meant, there has been emails sent to this other person asking for information on how to fix a problem he or she isn't even having. As it is, the only reply I got back was full of needing verifications on things where half of the stuff I had absolutely NO idea how to answer.
So, I encourage all here with a Yahoo address linking alerts from ANY RPG, or other such site they are a part of to change to another email supplier. I am changing to my GMail account for RPG & RPD-G purposes only. Will still use my old email as my sign on to YIM, etc.
So yeah, that's the lowdown... hope it helps those of you having this same problem.
