Stephanie let her feet lead her, an old habit that she would probably never shake. She'd walked this way a million times, be it because of a lesson or just because she wanted somewhere peaceful to sit. Strange that she considered the stables peaceful, but the students showed consideration to the horses so there was less hustle and bustle at the stables. She usually liked the hustle and bustle, but sometimes all she wanted was space to think, and space for her hair!
She pulled a text book out of her bag, planning to brush up on the last spell they learnt. She flicked through the pages of the book, still letting her feet lead the way, not looking where she was going. That was a habit she really should shake, she put too much trust in people giving her a wide berth.
She heard the background chatter of someone talking to a horse, which was just about enough to bring her attention to the real world. After the the chatter she heard hooves, and had to quickly dive out of the way as a golden stallion paraded out into the stable yard.
