So I'll brag again. I took my 4 yo in the Ariat today. True eq course , twisty turny like a jumper course and he was sooooo good. I pushed him at a fence and he caught it with a back leg. So ended up third. No complaints because someone asked what horse Penny had found for me to lease for the eq. They were shocked it was my baby.

Gan the Man competed at Winter Equestrian Festival this week. First day he started out slow in his division with a 5th. Today he posted a 2nd and 3rd in his respective classes. Considering this is the first show of the big shows his momma is pretty happy

After a crazy couple of months with work and my mom's chemotherapy, I finally had a little me time this weekend. Me and Ganner that is.
After Ganner got some good ribbons in the Pre-Greens (2,3,8) I thought, Maybe it will be okay for mom to show. I've been doing the 3' classes but they can be really intimidating at Winter Equestrian Festival. I really just wanted to have fun with no pressure. (For some reason the older I get the more falling off can be terrifying and then there is the whole notion of screwing up this fabulous horse...) With a gentle nudge from some pals and my trainer I showed in the Low Adult Class. The fences are lower than 3' and the class is designed for adults with young horses or new horses and also for people moving into the horse show world. I can tell you from looking at the list that it was mostly good adult amateur riders with young horses. So much for not being intimidated by the caliber of other riders. But I remembered that it's as much about the fancy fences being a bit intimidating and went on with the show plan. It ended up great, we ended up great! Reserve Champion for the weekend.
