First impressions: I love Vork's hat and tie combo.
Catchy chorus. Overall impression. . . I kind of don't care. It's nice that geekiness is getting a moment in the spotlight that should result in more acceptance in society as a whole but overall it isn't going to change things. I've never done any of the things I enjoy because of what other think and there are always going to be rejects. Tempted to download it but I'm not going to cause I don't want Elayne hearing some of the language. Every time I tell myself "I just won't listen to it when she's around" failure happens  -------------------- My heart is like an open highway.

 I do like the chorus - some great lines there - but I understand your problem with the language, especially with Elayne around. The basic concept is good but the message isn't going to reach a broad enough audience.  -------------------- The sun persists in rising, so I make myself stand.

It's catchy but I was disappointed in it because I felt like it was undermining itself. -------------------- I still want Blood Oath.

I guess I don't get it. I've never been fond of the mentality that there should be sides. This fosters the mind-set that Miss USA (or was it America) can't be a geek because she was pretty and cool in high school.
I think everyone has an identity crisis at some point in their lives and jocks and cheerleaders aren't as confident as geeky types thought they were. I thought it was actually really unpleasant - but then, I've had the same reaction to The Guild itself. I used to think it was funny and cute, but the relentless nastiness of the characters, and their refusal to grow, really grated.
And this song just encapsulates that for me - all the resentment, and nothing really positive. No real triumph for anyone - the bullies are flat, uninteresting, and triumphant, and though the whole point seems to be that nerds are cool when they're out of high school, there's no indication that they actually are. Really not impressed. Which is a shame, since I really do like Felicia Day (even her rather cracktastic Dragon Age webseries), and have ever since Buffy (though I've avoided Dr. Horrible). -------------------- We're the same thing, you and I.
