So not surprised :eyeroll: If an American had tried that with Canada he would've gotten rejected so fast his head would've spun.
Whether or not the agent should keep his job depends on how serious America (or America's politicians to be honest) is about our border security. They like to say they are serious and technically the agent didn't follow procedure. But the reality of the situation is our border is full of holes (both literal and bureaucratical). I doubt he'll get fired.
