I was pointed toward this website for Gray Haven comics

Anyone interested into breaking into comics or reading new writers might want to take a look.

Thanks for the plug.

I just joined the board. Seems like a very cool place.

Hopefully at some point you could short plugs up for your recent offerings, or I'll pester you for an interview for the blog.

No need to pester. I love talking about myself and the books. Just say the word.

Well since this is the GrayHaven Comics thread I guess I should tell everyone about GrayHaven Comics and in particular, The Gathering

The Gathering is a self published ongoing anthology which began back in January of 2010. Each issue of the comic focuses on a different theme. Issue 1 was Hope, 2- Despair, 3- Heroes, 4- Horror, 5- Romance, and 6 was Horror 2. We're currently in the process of putting issue 7 (Myth) to print and as of this coming January we'll be on a monthly schedule.

Aside from the Gathering anthology we're publishing a self contained mini series, Ever After and have multiple one shots planned for 2012. Our website also features original content in the form of webcomics created by many of our contributors to the anthology. The original run of webcomics (Kid Robo, Decompressionism, Daring Speculative Fiction and Aoi Sayonara) were extremely popular so we're in the midst of a 13 week tryout with 7 new webcomics competing for hits in order to get a full run next year. Every day features at least 2 webcomics updating.

The Gathering grew from vanity project to something bigger soon after the release of our first issue thanks to critical acclaim from sites like Aint it Cool and Wired and professionals like Gail Simone taking an interest in our project. Though our focus is on giving new writers and artists a chance to get published we do feature a pro story on occassion. Creators like Gail, Mike Lapinski and Sterling Gates have all done shorts for us with creators like John Jackson Miller, Sean McKeever and Josh Fialkov contributing in 2012.

The strong support from fans, critics and pros have allowed us to plan for a very aggressive 2012 which will see the book released on a monthly schedule as well as the publication of mini series and one shots which will allow even more new creators to have the chance to see their ideas reach the printed page.

And here is a direct link to buy issue 6: Further into the Abyss aka Horror 2. The Horror themed books have done very well for us but this issue has been our most popular yet with the quickest initial sell out of any volume.

This issue features stories by Sterling Gates (Hawk and Dove), Cassandra James (Womanthology), Len Wallace (Love Buzz) and a dozen up and coming writers and artists as well as a stunning cover by Amanda Rachels (Clown Town).

We're looking to add a lot more content to the site so in addition to the webcomics and the features like 'Building the Page' we're adding a 20 Questions type interview segment for those folks who've contributed to the book.

First up is Mike Lapinski, Gatherer and co creator of the wonderful mini series Feeding Ground from Archaia. Mike's tremendously talented and he's a heck of a nice guy, too so check it out

It's been an exciting week. We've been trying to develop the site into a more content based place instead of just somewhere to go and order the books so busy is good. Hope you do get a chance to check em out
