I figured it would be nice to record what we have read and are currently reading. That way if someone wants to inquire after a particular book, they know who to ask.

If you post an update, the admin will edit it into your original post to keep a running list.

Next up is The Meri for our book club.

Then I'll figure out what's next. tongue.gif

Currently reading/listening to the Hunger Games series So far really, really enjoying them. While also in first person (like Twilight) the lead character has a lot of depth....and the story is just interesting.

I'll let you know how I feel when I'm done but I will tell you that there is at least one "I love you." "I know" scene in the second book that made me laugh clearly an homage, but also makes it clear how the author felt about that Han/Leia scene.

Or maybe I'm projecting/assuming.

Finished the Hunger Games series (The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay). It ended well, though not entirely the way I wanted to end. We can talk about it off line if you want more detail. I would def. recommend it however.

I got a Kindle for Christmas so I immediately downloaded some Jane Austen and made my first purchase (the first three books in the Chronicles of Elantra by Michelle Sagara. Re-reads but still good).

Also--I got our book club book in the mail! So I'm also reading the Meri.

Finished The Athena Project. I wanted to keep reading but the POV switches drove me mad. Good story but it felt like he hit 300 pages and decided "oh I better end this!"

These thriller writers are about quantity not quality though. The eye rolling line of the book -

QUOTE
The pilot announce, "One minute."

Thirty seconds later came the warning, "Thirty seconds."

Really? What happened to editors making suggestions to tighten that up? Or friends who'd say, 'yeah dude, did you really mean to say that?'

I have to pick a fiction book to read. Still working on the Serfdom.

I'm intrigued by The Hunger Games.

I went to a local bookstore to buy a Star Wars book and I got something totally different tongue.gif

I bought The Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett. Since it's a very long book ( 4 times average SW book - yes I'm doing it on purpose ) it will take some time to finish it biggrin.gif

Follett, well that's read for sure.

I just finished Hunger Games and started Catching Fire. Yeah, they're addictive.

Will update everyone's lists this week.

Did you see I suggested that for book club? Any interest? There is a lot to talk about, me thinks.
