Been a while since we had some Crazy Weather here. I can change that.
Here is what happened outside my house ten minutes ago:

The first thing I noticed was a roaring wind, then the light in my window went from sunshine to darkness. I unplugged everything immediately and looked outside in all directions to decide whether I should go to the basement. But I didn't see any funnel clouds - just scary skies.
It was over in three or four minutes except for the thunderstorm (which continues). Then for about five minutes there were police and fire sirens all running west out of town. I hope that isn't as ominous as it sounded.
We're still under severe weather watch for another hour or more. The sky and air are those weird colors you get after tornadoes and really bad storms and they keep changing. Freaky.
There was a tornado early this morning on the west side of Toronto but the weather all day (until now) was bright and hot. All the right conditions for this sort of stuff. The thunder is supposed to last until morning.
Happily, I went up to the farm earlier during a sunny and hot afternoon and put all the horses in the barn. That was mostly because of the heat outside, but in the back of my mind I was thinking we could have some storms. Funny thing was, the old mare - who
never wants to come inside - walked right up to me and stood still while I snapped a lead shank on, then she calmly following me into the barn. That literally has not happened before. She hates being inside.

Tell me she didn't have some sense that the barn was the right place to be. Uh-huh.

This kind of stuff has been happening all over the place. We are used to seeing it in the various "tornado alleys" in the U.S. but not this far north - until the last few years. Our climate is definitely changing.
The sky is half dark and half orange now. Think I'll go over to the weather channel and see what's happening.
