For some reason the Wraiths love to share their weather stories.

The fall color change came up in another thread. If you've got some good foliage pics please share.

QUOTE (TKL from Mission: Specs thread)
48! That is practically freezing!

Hey! It's 57 now (12:50 pm). Balmy! tongue.gif

I just went for a ride. Wore a vest over my shirt but otherwise it was quite pleasant. Molson was a very good boy. Excellent canter departs and good downward transitions today.

Of course, you know we have lots of weather, so I've got pictures to get this thread started:

If anyone would like to ski... this is an actual nighttime photo of what Banff got last Tuesday:

In case you think that was Photoshopped, here's one from the same day in a town between Banff and Calgary:

And just for fun, TKL, our weather service added this picture from Pennsylvania dated September 21, 2010:

Ah, the colors smile.gif I like the really green tree next to the red one.

Our skies aren't quite that beautiful right now but we've got a tropical storm running around. Rain all day today - 6 inches is the prediction.

wahoo.gif

Wow!

I tried to take some pics after our tropical storm (non-event) because the sky was yellow, in fact everything was tinged in a yellow light but the camera couldn't catch the effect very well. We did get a rainbow out of the deal.

Maybe we'll get off scott-free on the hurricanes this year?

I love the grass in the foreground, then the yellow field. Gives the picture a lot of depth.

This week will be the best for fall color up here. You just can't beat Mother Nature.

Scrubs, that is fantastic. I just love the vivid yellows and reds of fall.

Yes. Exactly. One of our weathermen posted a pic of it on Facebook. I'll try to find it. But yeah that was the glow.

We had frost and snow flurries last night. scare.gif

Two days ago it was in the 60s.

Thank goodness the forecast for Saturday is back in the 60s. My friend won't look like an icicle in her wedding photos! blue.gif

Hope no one here has been caught in the damage caused by the "Monster Storm" (as the press is calling it) that crossed the middle of the U.S. last night and today.

It's heading towards us now, expected to be here within two hours. The wind has already picked up and it's getting very dark, very fast.

Should be a fun, noisy night. Hope the power stays on.

thinking.gif Maybe I'd better cook dinner now, just in case.

We've had snow the last two days, but none of it has stuck in the valley. We do have snow sticking in the mountains, though.

Utah is getting a blizzard. It's just moving to my part of the state now, and the winds went from nothing to being quite powerful. It's supposed to be the worst storm in ten years, so I'm curious to see if it lives up to the hype. I am hoping and praying that the power doesn't go out. It's going to be very cold tonight, and I'm a wimp and want my heat.

I feel your pain. buddies.gif Our weather has been nuts.

On Sunday night, I felt like a popsicle bringing the horses in for their dinner.

Then it warmed up overnight. By Monday morning, the horses were sweaty in their stalls at breakfast so I turned them out and left the barn open to cool off. The weather stayed in the 50s-60s all day Monday and even overnight. I think the low was 53F.

On Tuesday I left for the city at 10:00 am it was 60 degrees (F). By the time I got home at 1:30, the temp had dropped to 43 degrees. shock2.gif

Last night we had temps in the 20s and a bit of snow. Guess I'd better put the snow tires on. *Sigh*

Hope your blizzard fizzles out!

I want to die laughing right now. "The worst storm UT has seen in years" turned out to be a very light dusting of little snowflakes lazily drifting to the ground. Northern UT got hit bad, but my area was pretty quiet. It was 10 degrees this morning though, ugh.

Yeah, here too. It got more serious yesterday and will continue well into tomorrow.

Almost got the tractor stuck while cleaning the barn this afternoon. Now I know it's winter. tongue.gif
