Wow! That is excellent! I don't believe I've seen that artist's work before.

She did such a beautiful job with that!!

And the lyrics she picked, fit them both wonderfully!

I was surprised by the lyrics. At first I thought "Can You Feel The Love Tonight?" Really?
But those specific lyrics work really well.

And she did do a really great job with the design.

That's gorgeous! I just saved it to my laptop and am using it as a wallpaper. So pretty and suits them so well!

This is only the Jaina half, but for some reason I felt compelled to sketch this today. It is loosely based on a photograph I saw of Natalie Portman.

It's Monet's disease. No picture is ever finished.

This one is giving me fits -- I think it's the black paper. My scanner isn't reading the colors at all. Now that I've been out to the market and looking at it with fresh eyes, the original looks more like evil Daala (or even an angry Mara) than Jaina.

I'm going to try to scan it again with different parameters. I'd like to be able to show you a truer version of the sketch.

As for "part 2", I'm thinking I may redo this one to be more like Jaina, and just include Jag in it. We'll see.

Too sinister for Jaina??

I like the colors and the feel alot.

My writing suffers from Monet disease then. Because I read it and continuously want to tinker.

If I might suggest, perhaps the eyes are a little two "almond"? (not sure if that makes sense) Thus the sinister vibe you might be projecting.

Not too sinister. That's just Jaina's "I'm looking at you, Sue Rostoni" face.

Did I ever explain what "Monet disease" is about? Not sure if I have here in the 'tina. Just in case:

Monet liked to visit the Louvre wearing his painter's smock. When the guards weren't looking, he would take out a brush he had hidden in a pocket and touch up his paintings here and there. Even the Master was never satisfied.

Excellent observation! More rounded eyes would definitely soften her look although in the photo I used for inspiration, Portman does, in fact, have rather almond-shaped eyes although they are a bit more round. I flattened these a bit too much. That's one of the things I will change, either on this drawing or the next. Thanks!

The funny thing is, that thought crossed my mind while I was sketching this. Probably why she has that sinister look... If only we could let Jaina loose at DR and LFL...


BTW, I have the complementary Jag picture worked out. Just have to sketch it today.

I love J/J fanart. But I'd really like some more cover art.

The apartment picture does convey a sense of serenity. That is something that was done well in Backlash and Allies. There were multiple moments when J or J calmed the other down, and you could sense the serenity loving each other gives them. So it's nice to see it depicted in art.

Ok. This next one's from me. It's in celebration of the Empire Striking Back. Also I had a lot of fun with some of my designs at work this week and got good response so I wanted to keep that fun going. I was going to make a book cover but I dislike the cover style so much... Maybe sometime when I have more patience.



Edit: If it's too big and making people's screens funky just let me know and I'll take it down and resize it smaller. (Or a mod can remove the image if it's past my editing window.)
