Here is a great piece, with a very touching [read: made me tear up] commentary from McLain. It also includes a video of Sapphire and Hickstead, head-to-head as they so often were in jump-offs, but this was the $1m Spruce Meadows International. And they ended up only 2/10ths of a second apart. Absolutely AMAZING showjumping by two of the absolute best. I hope they can keep that up for the U.S. In Canadian news, Lamaze is re-thinking his choice of horse. Derly Chin de Muze had been doing well, but started showing her youth and inexperience this past week after an unfortunate fall. She stopped at two huge triple combinations, yet when Eric brought her around the second time, cleared the jumps with ease. She can do this, but she may not have the confidence yet. I don't think he feels very good about going to London with Verdi, though. Doesn't know that horse as well. Lots of dramah before these Games...
