edit: Yep, we'll move it here. :) ]

:notworthy: Wow! That is excellent! I don't believe I've seen that artist's work before.
Kailene - March 22, 2010 12:33 PM (GMT)
She did such a beautiful job with that!!
And the lyrics she picked, fit them both wonderfully!

Solo_and_Fel - March 23, 2010 03:01 AM (GMT)
I was surprised by the lyrics. At first I thought "Can You Feel The Love Tonight?" Really?
But those specific lyrics work really well.
And she did do a really great job with the design.
-Yun-Harla- - April 24, 2010 04:42 PM (GMT)
That's gorgeous! I just saved it to my laptop and am using it as a wallpaper. So pretty and suits them so well!

This is only the Jaina half, but for some reason I felt compelled to sketch this today. It is loosely based on a photograph I saw of Natalie Portman.
White pencil on black rough paper, 5x7"Imperial Jaina: Black Becomes Her"
oldjedinurse - May 5, 2010 06:03 PM (GMT)
I wasn't quite happy with that one, so I've altered her a little...
It's Monet's disease. No picture is ever finished.
Kailene - May 5, 2010 06:09 PM (GMT)
 That is simply Beautiful, just Beautiful, Scrubs !! :applause:
Can't wait to see the other half.
oldjedinurse - May 5, 2010 09:10 PM (GMT)
This one is giving me fits -- I think it's the black paper. My scanner isn't reading the colors at all. Now that I've been out to the market and looking at it with fresh eyes, the original looks more like evil Daala (or even an angry Mara) than Jaina.
I'm going to try to scan it again with different parameters. I'd like to be able to show you a truer version of the sketch.
As for "part 2", I'm thinking I may redo this one to be more like Jaina, and just include Jag in it. We'll see.
oldjedinurse - May 5, 2010 09:55 PM (GMT)
Finally! The color is correct now...
Too sinister for Jaina??
T'Keira Lea - May 6, 2010 01:31 AM (GMT)
I like the colors and the feel alot.
My writing suffers from Monet disease then. Because I read it and continuously want to tinker.
If I might suggest, perhaps the eyes are a little two "almond"? (not sure if that makes sense) Thus the sinister vibe you might be projecting.
Darth Lex - May 6, 2010 02:20 AM (GMT)
Not too sinister. That's just Jaina's "I'm looking at you, Sue Rostoni" face. :menace: :menace: :menace:
Love it, Scrubs! :notworthy: :notworthy:
T'Keira Lea - May 6, 2010 02:47 AM (GMT)
That doesn't count, Lex.
Scrubs did my most favorite fanart ever in the cover of Option Number Three. You should put that up here.

Did I ever explain what "Monet disease" is about? Not sure if I have here in the 'tina. Just in case:
Monet liked to visit the Louvre wearing his painter's smock. When the guards weren't looking, he would take out a brush he had hidden in a pocket and touch up his paintings here and there. Even the Master was never satisfied. :heehee:

Excellent observation! More rounded eyes would definitely soften her look although in the photo I used for inspiration, Portman does, in fact, have rather almond-shaped eyes although they are a bit more round. I flattened these a bit too much. That's one of the things I will change, either on this drawing or the next. :waytogo: Thanks!

:rotflmao: The funny thing is, that thought crossed my mind while I was sketching this. Probably why she has that sinister look... If only we could
let Jaina loose at DR and LFL...
BTW, I have the complementary Jag picture worked out. Just have to sketch it today.
TKL, because you asked -- you and this holocap!

You're so talented, oldj. :) Nice job.
I found a manip: http://GracieKane.deviantart.com/art/Jag-a...tment-163069189
And FotJ era:JainaJag (discussing the Jedi with Daala)
(He's reminding me a bit of Ozymandias from Watchmen :p )
Kailene - May 7, 2010 02:23 PM (GMT)
That one by GracieKane of Jag & Jaina in the apartment is beautiful. Jaina looks so calm and at peace.

T'Keira Lea - May 11, 2010 01:28 AM (GMT)
I love J/J fanart. But I'd really like some more cover art.
The apartment picture does convey a sense of serenity. That is something that was done well in Backlash and Allies. There were multiple moments when J or J calmed the other down, and you could sense the serenity loving each other gives them. So it's nice to see it depicted in art.
Solo_and_Fel - May 22, 2010 06:05 PM (GMT)
Ok. This next one's from me. It's in celebration of the Empire Striking Back. :) Also I had a lot of fun with some of my designs at work this week and got good response so I wanted to keep that fun going. I was going to make a book cover but I dislike the cover style so much... :p Maybe sometime when I have more patience.
Edit: If it's too big and making people's screens funky just let me know and I'll take it down and resize it smaller. (Or a mod can remove the image if it's past my editing window.)
oldjedinurse - May 22, 2010 07:04 PM (GMT)
Well done!! I like the sense of mood you've created. :applause: :applause:
Solo_and_Fel - May 22, 2010 10:49 PM (GMT)
Thanks, oldj. It's sort of unfortunate that Jag's scar and white hair get lost in the shadows but I really like the shadows.
By the way, the Aurabesh says "Victory Without War". :p Because I'm a nerd like that. :)
Darth Lex - May 23, 2010 12:35 AM (GMT)
Great art, Hotshot! :waytogo: B-) :D
Kailene - May 23, 2010 12:41 AM (GMT)
 The Empire definetely does need to Strike Back !
Very nicely down B-)
Love the "Victory without War"

jaynasolofel - May 23, 2010 02:57 AM (GMT)
Awesome! I like the colors and agree the shadows are great.
Jag reminds me of Scott Foley.

That's a great start! I'd love to see more... :applause:

She has a lot of talent, I really liked looking at the rest of her stuff.

Thanks to Lex
buying a Christmas present for himself, I've been reworking the image of Soontir from his package to see if I can come up with a new
picture of Jagged.
I'm still tweaking, but this is what I have so far:
Opinions? Concrit? (Please remember there's only so much one can do with a pixelated image. Thanks.)
And, yes, I borrowed the uniform from BSG. :heehee:
Solo_and_Fel - January 4, 2011 11:02 PM (GMT)
Our little Jaggie is all grown up. :)
Oldj, are his eyes brown? :O Heh.
You've made nice progress.
oldjedinurse - January 4, 2011 11:56 PM (GMT)
 Yes, his eyes are brown -- at the moment. There's a lot yet to be done.
Don't worry, his eyes will be green, and he will be tall, too. :heehee:
oldjedinurse - January 5, 2011 12:10 AM (GMT)
Here, SnF... green eyes. That better? :giggle:
Darth Lex - January 5, 2011 01:29 AM (GMT)
Great work, Scrubs! :D B-) :waytogo:
T'Keira Lea - January 5, 2011 02:10 AM (GMT)
He looks very sophisticated (which I think Jag is). Much better with the green eyes. I think you reworked the scar a bit too? I was going to comment on the first, but it looks much better in the second.
oldjedinurse - January 5, 2011 02:10 AM (GMT)
It isn't great, but I'm going to keep playing with it. I just can't stand those same two pictures any more... :p
Solo_and_Fel - January 5, 2011 03:03 AM (GMT)
Sooooooooooooo much better. :waytogo:
oldjedinurse - February 2, 2011 06:15 PM (GMT)
Trying out some new software...
Do any of you have 3D glasses? If so, can you tell me whether this photo actually comes across as 3D?
T'Keira Lea - June 9, 2011 01:39 AM (GMT)
Here's a nice Jaina fanart back cover for Apocalypse by Saith Vaapar
