[Professor Binns]

Professor Binns floated into his classroom impatiently waiting for his class to arrive.
"Another year of spoiled children to teach" he said to himself. He quite wondered why he hadn't quit and taken a long deserved vacation.

But then who would teach the students to joys of the goblin wars, the famous wizards, the four founders, the history of Hogwarts. he thought to himself as he heard the door open.

Kat walked into the classroom and was surprised to see Binns still teaching.

I would have thought he would have taken a vacation by now she thought as she took a seat and waited for class to begin.

[Beautiful Disaster]

'Heya Kat', Willow said strolling into the classroom and taking a seat next to her. 'Ready for some real fun?', she said sarcastially, as usual.

[Professor Binns]

"alright settle down"Binns shouted out to the class. "State your name and house so I can take roll"

He then summoned his quill and parchment to his side and had them ready to start writing as the students began to speak.

'Willow Lazro, Head Girl of Hufflepuff', she said a tad arrogantly.

"Katherine Harris, Ravenclaw" Kat said quietly. She was so over school at the moment. Some Slytherin was trying to show her up in charms and she was trying to think of a way to prove that her answer was right.

[Professor Binns]

Binns nodded his head.

"Very well the rest will come when they come" he said and drifted to his podium where his notes for today's lecture sat.

"Alright lets begin"

"Hogwarts is a school that was founded by the Four Founders. Salazar Slytherin, Godric Gryffindor, Helga Hufflepuff and Rowena Ravenclaw. THey made the school thousands of years ago as a place where the young people of the wizarding world could study and be trained in the magical arts they needed to become skilled, fully-trained wizards.

h of the founders took a group of students to be in their own house and even though they had differences of opinion about who should be trained, the house system helped them all to work together. However, as the years went by, the differences between Gryffindor and Slytherin became a serious rift. Eventually Slytherin left the school.

Gryffindor=Godric Gryffindor believed that anyone who showed magical ability should be allowed to attend Hogwarts.

The Sorting Hat originally belonged to Gryffindor. His sword, with rubies in the handle, has also survived and is in the possession of Dumbledore.

According to the Sorting Hat, Gryffindor came "from wild moor".

Hufflepuff=Helga Hufflepuff
According to the Sorting Hat, Hufflepuff came "from valley broad." (s)he brought people from different walks of life together to help build Hogwarts and was loved for her charming ways."

Ravenclaw=Rowena Ravenclaw
According to the Sorting Hat, Ravenclaw came "from glen."i)t's thought that she came up with the ever-changing floor plan. She's best remembered for her intelligence and creativity."

Rowena was dear friends with Helga Hufflepuff.

She is said to have stated: "We will teach those whose intelligence is surest."

and finally Slytherin=Salazar Slytherin
Salazar Slytherin believed that only pure-blood witches and wizards should be allowed to attend Hogwarts. He got into an argument with Godric Gryffindor about this and eventually left the school. There was a legend that Slytherin built a secret chamber somewhere in Hogwarts that only his true heir would be able to open. This chamber, called the Chamber of Secrets, contained a monster that would finish his "noble purpose" of killing all the Muggle-born students at Hogwarts. Slytherin was a Parselmouth. When the four founders died off, they put their essences into the sorting hat." Binns said. "But that is for another time.

Kat had heard about Binn's class from her brother and sister and hoped that the rumors were not true.

But as she sat in the classroom, she had to pinch herself from falling asleep. Oh god, when is it over she thought to herself.

Willow sighed and rolled her eyes. How could she possibly write so much on how she felt she was connected to Hufflepuff? It was widely known that Willow didn't consider herself much of a Hufflepuff, but enjoyed the fact that it annoyed her father.

'Sir, quick question. What if you don't feel so connected to your house?'

LESSON #2

Binns floated to his spot in the classroom and summoned his roll sheet and notes.
"Ah, today is a great day to talk more about Hogwarts" he said to himself as he tapped his wand on the chalk board and words came to life as well as a picture of Hogwarts itself."

He hummed to himself as he waited for his students to come in.

Kat walked into History of Magic trying to think of a way to stay awake. SHe was not going to fall asleep in class. Her reputation as a Ravenclaw was at stake, as well as house points.

I need to raise those points, somehow she thought as she took a seat and waited for class to begin.

Selene strode quickly into the room and smirked at Binns. He had to be the most boring ghost she had encountered, and she loathed to be in his clases.

However, she shrugged it off and jumped into a seat in the back. She slid a piece of parchment out of her bag and quickly scrawled words with her emerald quill.

Willow walked in smiling and nodded toward Selene and Kat. She took her usual seat towards the back and crossed her legs. She was quickly trying to remember if they had homework or not. If they had, of course she hadn't done it.

Kat looked up when Selene and Willow walked in. Well at least I wont be the only one in class now she thought.

SHe sighed and her thought returned to the letter she had gotten from home. It wasn't the news that was in it...it was the lack of news. Something was wrong at home and Kat so needed to find out.

[Professor Binns]

Professor Binns paid no mind to the students talking and decided to start his lesson. "Ah yes, Hogwarts our great school" he began.

"The school motto, which appears on the crest, is "Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus," which means "Never tickle a sleeping dragon." he began.

"At hogwarts school is seperated into 3 terms. Fall, Spring and Summer. Students spend the Fall and Spring Term in the school itself while the Summer Term is spent at their homes completing assignemnts for their next year's teachers." he said. He then pointed to the board and the following words apeared:
schedule of classes by year
o First Year
o Second Year
o Third Year
o Fourth Year
o Fifth Year
o Sixth Year
o Seventh Year
* Ordinary Wizarding Levels (O.W.L.s)
* Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests (N.E.W.T.s)

THat is how our school years are divided and the major tests we take." he said not caring what the students were doing but droning on and on about Hogwarts.
