Quidditch Pitch-free Time

Kat came down to the quidditch pit with her Nimbus 2001 in her hand. SHe pulled her winter coat tighter around her and wished she had thought to bring her ear muffs with her.

SHe looked around and noticed that it was quiet today. "Everyone must still be in the castle where it is warm' she mumbled to herself as she climbed onto her broom and hoovered for a moment as she retied her scarf around her neck.

"A few laps around the pit and then back to studying" she said to herself. She needed this, a break from the norm. Well according to her sister Natalia, sometimes doing something unpredicitable helped you to focus on what's going on.

She hoped her sister was right and brought the handle of her broom up so that she was now higher in the air.

Andre ran out in a happy mood, he'd been wanting to test out his Firebolt that he got for christmas. So he put the broom between his legs and kicked off the ground,

"WHOA!", underestimating the power of the Firebolt, he was sent flying fast.....in Kat's direction!

Kat slowed down and decided to enjoy the view of the lake from the pit. She breathed in the clean, cold fresh piney air. She sighed and wondered when things would get easier. She heard a noise and turend to see Andre on his broom.

"Wow, that's a fast broom" she said outloud. She then noticed that it was coming for her.

"Crap" she said as she quickly turned her broom handle to the left to move out of the way.

Josh came out to practice his beater skills. He had his broom, his bat, and a large trunk was floating after him.

When he got to a certain spot, the trunk fell to the ground. He mounted his broom, opened the trunk, and released the bludger.

After waiting a bit, he took off after it.

Kat set here feet on the ground after spending what felt like hours in the air. I love the feel of flying shr thought as she sat down and redid her hair in a pony tail.

She breathed in the cool air and wondered where everyone was. [i] Ususally I can find Willow or Brett or Rufus somewhere in the castle[/i[ she thought as she picked up her broom and stood up.

"Hmm what to do now" she thought

Josh got to the bludger and whacked it downward. He noticed it was heading for someone on the ground. He didn't recognize the person right off the bat till he got a bit closer. When he did, he noticed it was Kat.

Kat was getting ready to mount her broom again when she heard a weird noise. She looked around and noticed a ball coming towards her. Her eyes got real big oh crap she thought as she dropped her broom and dove out of the way hitting her shoulder on the ground hard.

She struggled to sit up taking a few moments to turn over and winced in pain. "Who the hell sent that dam bludger at me?" she yelled. She around to find who she was about to hurt as soon as she found a way to stand up properly.

Willow wandered out the Quiddich field with her trusty Firebolt by her side. As she got closer she noticed two other classmates out as well. She looked around and then up at the sky. There usually weren't people out so late.

'Uhhh... hey guys,' Willow said wearily, trying not to intrude.

Kat sighed and got really frustrated, she had finally got up and her shoulder was killing her. where is my broom she thought as she scanned the ground. She noticed it laying on the ground to her left. She went and grabbed it and took out her wand ready to hex who ever sent the dam bludger at her.

She scanned the gorunds again and noticed a figure coming to the pit. The figure was blonde and Kat smiled. Willow she thought with relief.

"Hey Willow, a little help here" she asked in pain.

Willow cocked her head to the side. She wouldn't have known Kat was there if it wasn't for her voice. Willow was known to have shabby eyesight at night.

She jogged over to Kat, who looked obviously in pain. Her first reaction was to start digging in her yellow and black canvas messenger bag for something to help Kat, but she first had to know what the problem was. Willow had a bit a problem prioritizing in her head sometimes.

'Oh, uh, what's wrong? Fall off your broomstick? Bludger?,' Willow asked, trying not to sound too frantic.

Kat winced in pain as she readjusted her hold on her broom with her good arm. "Some idiot aimed a bluder right at me. I didn't notice until the last moment so I had to dive out of the way and landed hard on my right shoulder" she said almost in tears.

"Dam it hurts" she said trying to blink back tears. "Whoever did this... I am so hexing into the next century and then bringing them back and hexing them again" she added.

Josh was flying high above the clouds. The bludger had come back and was giving him a go for his money. He had almost got hit twice. He hit it forward and noticed it went about 100 ft. then started following him again.

"What tha crap!"

He hit it one more time, and started gaining altitude.

As soon as he saw the bludger cut through the clouds, he started diving.....

'Lumos,' Willow said as she dug though her bag.

She inspected several vials of potion in her hand until so found a dark green one. 'Perfect,' she thought.

'Here,' Willow said handing Kat the potion. 'Sage and lemongrass. It'll have you on your feet in no time. Tastes kinda bitter though. Just a warning.'

Kat took the bottle with her good hand after leaning her broom against her body. She eyed the bottle with hesitation.

"Are you sure this will cure my shoulder?" she asked Willow "Cause it hurts like hell at the moment" Kat was in so much pain, usually she high a high threshold for it, but today... that was not happening.

Willow nodded sympathetically towards Kat.

'It'll numb it, it won't cure it. It'll do the trick til we get you seen by Madame Pomfrey. You might feel a bit lightheaded, though. But, it'll take care of things til you get a proper look over, sweets.'

Willow knew she wasn't experienced enough to dole out cures, but it was better than nothing. Besides, if something was majorly wrong with Kat, she'd want her to get taken care of in the best way possible. As much as she hated to admit it, Madame Pomfrey was quite skilled at what she did.
