The Lake

Kimmie decided that now wasn't the time to talk to him.
'I'll leave then. See you later.'
Kimmie got up from her spot and walked away, tears in her eyes and wishing this night would have gone better.

Brett shook his head at Kimmie Honestly what was she playing at? he thought. He took another swig of the fire whiskey and looked out at the lake wondering how things got so messed up so quickly. He noticed that Potter had left. THank god he thought That girl drives me nuts he thought.

He took another swig of the fire whiskey and wondered why people thought getting hammered was so fun. SO far he had not felt a thing, but the fire whiskey was beginning to burn his throat and had a nasty after taste. He grabbed the cork and replaced it and decided to return to the castle and maybe walk around and blow off some steam. He stood up and made his way back up the path.

The next morning Kimmie went down to the Lake to get some fresh air. She couldn't believe how much better she felt today, even though she felt like the world was going to end just under 24 hrs ago. She took a deep breath and exhaled all the bad thoughts out of her head.
'Nothing quite like a good walk before breakfast', Kimmie said to herself, before sitting herself down at a tree.

Kimmie sat down by a tree near the Black Lake, and retrieved a quill, some parchment and an envelope. She proceeded to write a letter to her family, as she hadn't done so since her arrival at Hogwarts.

'Dear Parents,
I miss you all greatly, and am sorry for not contacting you sooner. School has been great, I'm learning so many new things, but I still wish I was home with you guys. How is Uncle Lewis going? Has his leg healed up yet? And Brutus our dog - how is he doing?
Lunch is nearly over so I must finish this letter up now. I miss you all terribly and I love you all so much. Please reply soon if possible.

She finished the letter and wrote the address on the envelope. She folded up the parchment and put it inside, quickly sealing the envelope. Lunchtime was now over, so she'd have to deliver the letter after class. She stood up from her spot, picking up all her writing equipment. She walked at a leisurely pace back up to the castle.

KAt walked out to the lake ready to catch the sunset. She needed a break from the castle and today was finally warm enough to venture outside. She walked to where some of the rocks were and took off her uniform robe and folded it up so she wouldn't get her uniform skirt dirty. She sat down and sighed. It's so good to be outside she thought with a small smile.

She inhaled the air and looked out at the lake wondering what to do this weekend.

Brett came down to the lake and grabbed a spot near one of the rocks. He sat down and sighed as he looked out to the lake. When did everything get so complicated he thought. He picked up some pebbles and started to throw them into the lake not caring where they landed.

"Someone give me a sign that this school term will be better than the last" he asked the sky.
