I'm so happy that i'm able to watch this great series and would recommend this to everyone to watch. :dance: :dance:

I agree. This is a great romance/fantasy drama. The two main characters really make a cute couple.

This series is pretty awesome. Nothing at all like the movies. It does however feel like there are too many plots going on at once though. The main love story getting lost in everyone elses love problems... not to mention the destruction of the world. Of course it's all tied in together I suppose...

Does anyone else think this way?

(Don't get me wrong I still love the show ;) I just feel distracted trying to follow all the plots and side-stories...)

You know I'm going to have to say that while Qi Ye (Nie Yuan) is quite the hottie. Jin Guang (Shen Xiao Hai) stole my heart with that pout he made in episode 11 when he wasn't picked for the arm wrestling match. (We're conveniently ignoring the fact here that he's a j3rk for most of the series :P)... Xiao Hai has portrayed many a hot, upstanding scholar types in other series I swear!

Anyone that doesn't believe me needs to check out the Liao Zhai series Hua Gu Zi. I saw a bit of it on TV while I was in China last year. Shen Xiao Hai plays the male lead Tao Zui. I didn't make the connection between Jin Guang and Tao Zui at first until I was looking up the actors for Chinese Ghost. Xiao Hai definitely looks a LOT better without all that gold eyeshadow they put on him in Chinese Ghost.

I really regret not being able to watch Hua Gu Zi in its entirety and can't seem to find it online anywhere (not even D-addicts) even though the series was completed in 2004.

Perhaps I am doomed never to know if he ended up with the girl-that-turns-into-a-sunflower or the girl-that-turns-into-a-deer or whatever it was again...

Definitely need to find the english subtitles for that series.

- I know what you mean but without the plots there we would have anything to follow :) .. first 7 episode I could follow but then after that wah.. did it just get all serious sad.. poor barbie

This is such a good ancient series.. I am a big fan of ancient series, especially the fantasy ones..

Can someone reccomend me a drama which is similiar to A Chines Ghost Story?

I like this chinese ghost series...I had seem a similar movie of this series...think the p'ek and n'ek is cute....funny when the p'ek is walking in the wood and hit n'ek with a rocks because he is scare...he did not look up to see n'ek...The other guy who is the supporting actor with the p'ek is funny...I also like the guy that likes n'ek...He is cute.

I heard a lot of positive comments about this series and would love to watch it. I just hope that I enjoy it as much as everyone else!

I haven't seen many of the episodes yet, but I already love it! Just have to get used to all those characters.

I also love the "old" Chinese Ghost Story movies, but for some reason I never have the feeling that I must compare it to the series. Maybe it's because of all those new characters, who knows.

The Movie was way kool, I started watching it the series and the story was the same till about ep8 then it totally changed to a totally different story..

i also agree this is the best series too...
exciting, romantic, action and a few funniest moment too...
