Mae Govannen mellyth-nin, I Cempestre will begin my rant on the one thing that really bugs me about fanfiction. Oh this isnt another Sue rant, no something worse than that. Whatts worse than a Sue? Well let me put it to you this way, I was on the Pit of Voles, why I keep coming back, I dont know, anyway, I was reading this story about Aragorn and his foster brothers. I love those type of stories, Ive read an entire archive of them. So I was reading this story and it was going along just fine, untill oh about the third chapter, where things got a little umm interesting.. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, there was this incestous scene. I was like OMV! I couldnt believe it! Why would someone ruin a perfectly good innocent story about Estel and his brothers and turn into well i dont know what. but it wasnt anythign resembling Tolkein. Now I have not read the Laws and Customs of the Eldar, but I do know that incest, isnt umm kosher in elven society.To make it worse it was between blood brothers... Talk about ewww... Now maybe in some wierd universe one can write something like that, but not in this one. The thing that really bugs me is that there was no warning in the summary. No indication of where the story was going. I checked the authors profile and all their stories are slash or some kind of incest in them, which is all fine and dandy, even though i dont think its canon at all but what I do k now..So inclosing if youre going to write a slash fic, or incest fic of any kind, please for the love of the Valar put a warning in the summary. It doesnt take that much time, nor effort and it saves readers like me who dont want to read such things, from accidently reading them.

I can understand what you mean, though I do think you can write about incest as long as there is a warning about it. I haven't read anything about it, but if it's a really good story that isn't about the sex etc. but really about the things that are running through their minds it must be really interesting.
