The Chicago Blackhawks announced today the team will conduct its 2008 Prospects Camp from Monday, July 7 through Friday, July 11 at Edge Ice Arena in Bensenville, IL.

The camp roster of 50 invitees will be highlighted by 2008 NHL Entry Draft selections Kyle Beach (11th overall) and Shawn Lalonde (68th overall); 2007 Draft picks Bill Sweatt (38th overall) and Akim Aliu (56th overall); 2006 Draft choice Igor Makarov (33rd overall); 2005 Draft picks Dan Bertram (54th overall) and Nathan Davis (113th overall); and Finnish goalie prospect Antti Niemi. The camp will kick off on the morning of Monday, July 7, with strength and conditioning testing for all camp attendees followed by an afternoon skate from approximately noon to 4:00 P.M.

From Tuesday, July 8, through Friday, July 11, the pros will have an on-ice workout from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M., while the two groups of prospects will have their respective on-ice and off-ice workouts simultaneously from 11:15 A.M. – 12:15 P.M., followed by a prospect scrimmage from 12:30 – 2:00 P.M.

All practice and media availability times are subject to change. Media planning to cover any of the practice days should contact the Blackhawks’ Media Relations Department (312-455-7060) the morning of each skate to confirm times.

Looks like a good group of kids. I'm looking forward to seeing Unice, Niemi, Davis, Sweatt and Beach.

so am i losing my mind (very possible)

was brody ever on the list? i dont see him in any pictures that anyone has taken and i was sure he was scheduled to be in chicago for this?!

any ideas?

i see crawfords there......did signing the new goalie(s) boot brody out????

Brody was invited to the Prospect camp, as they had a thread going about him on the BH board...but he didn't go.

No...his contract is up with the BH's...he's a UFA now.

I was not disappointed.
Sweatt was awesome. Big and fast. Unice stopped everything that came his way (although he really wasn't tested that much). Fallon didn't impress me any more this year than he did last year. (What was really cool was watching Crawford work with the Blackhawks goalie coach). Danis-Pepin didn't seem as gangly as last season. Davis was injured but skated with the pro's. The scrimmage was cool. Lots of big hits and some nice goals (all by the red team). Forgot the battery pack for my camera so no pictures but my friends are sharing theirs so it's all good!
Most of the Blackhawks brass was there including McIssac, Bernard, Savard, Tortchelli, Tallon one of the junior Wirtz's (or so I was told) and Eddie Olcyzk!


Hockey in July what more could an addict want?

yeah i would be there and his luggage would be 3 hours late.......
i guess he holds a special place with me because i did transport him so much, and he seemed to be a good guy! i was for sure i heard recently he was going to be there, but i guess not! im sad to see him go, if he really is gone!

i did see the thread on the BH message board and someone said he is a FA and he could have decided to just not show up....but i know i saw him on the list. i hope he finds success wherever he ends up!

man wish i would have made it to camp! i cant wait for hockey to start!!!!!!!!!!!!
