I want to know why Crawford is losing so many games. I hope he does not go like this for the whole season.

Crawford for the most part has been fairly solid in net. Yes, he has let a few go by...but defense starts out in front of the net...if the rest of the team aren't doing their parts, then the goalie can only do so much. He seems more confident behind the net this year, I'm not cringing anymore when he goes back behind.

The team as a whole as done crappy the last 5 games. They need to work on the fundimental skills. Badly.

Fallon...now he played his best game to date last Sunday in Chicago...yes the IceHogs lost, but he held up his end. He almost had a glove on that rocket Chelios fired at him...tipped the edge of his glove as it flew by.

Crawford has been the best player on the team hands down so far this year. If he would get a lil help he would win a lot more games

BMEN is right Crawford is the best player on the team. Its not Corey's fault for losing those games. Goals are going to happen and you can't always expect him to save them all but yes he has been solid in net. He has kept all the games really close for the team to either tie or even hold off for a win. Our offense needs to help Corey and everyone I think needs to quit being a Crawford hater and give him some love, Hes our goalie for goodness sakes! just be happy hes not letting in like 5 goals a game and again has kept the game close. The only minus i could think of for Corey is that he needs to stay in net and not go out all the time and play the puck.

GO CRAWFORD!!!

Oh and Fallon doesn't look too bad either.

you should know why, cause theres a empty net goal just waiting to happen. so if he stays in net this shouldn't be a problem

The puck got past 5 other Icehogs before it got to Crawford. It was a fluke goal. Crawford has been playing very well, which cannot be said about the players in front of him. Did anyone notice how well Milwaukee protected their goal tender. It would be nice to see the Icehogs do the same for Crawford considering he is the reason these games are even close.

Crawford is not the reason the Hogs are losing games. In 5 of the 9 loses this year the Hogs scored 1 or less goals. If you score one goal in a game you probably have about a 5% chance of geting a win. In three of the other games they lost they scored 2 goals. Two of those games went into overtime. The hogs have given up at least 30 shots in most of their games this year. If a goalie gives up 2 goals in 30 shots that is a 93.3 save percentage, which is very good. That means in 8 of 9 games the hogs have lost the goalies played very well. The one "bad" game was a 5-4 loss to Chicago. If I remember corectly that was the game the Hogs blew a 2 goal lead in the third period due to penalty trouble. The hogs problems rest with the offense, with the main problem being our "power" play.

So let me ask you this: What do you mean by "all the time"? How many times for Crawford to come out and play the puck is too many, in your judgment?

I'm also curious if you would have made that comment had the fluke goal not occurred.

By the way, Wade Flaherty was in a similar situation. In a game against Manitoba, Flats went behind the net to clear the puck to a teammate. The puck bounced off of the corner onto the stick of a waiting Manitoba forward, who sent it into the net before Flats could get back into position. It happens.

I mean he can come up and play and no he doesn't do that alot. I know that if a goalie goes out to play a puck there could be the chance of a empty net for the opposing team. And yes i would of made that comment even if that goal didn't happen. when I'm at the game i hear people saying to themselves "Omg Corey stay in the net" and things like that. So i'm not the only person that thinks he should stay in the net. I'm not hating on Crawford, I know Crawford is a really great goalie so i don't know what more to say.

i agree that corey needs to stay in his net more...for example last saturday when milwaukee scored because he was behind the net...and he got knocked down by milwaukee the week before and almost 2 times that game...he just seems to come out to play the puck every time it is in his end and there are 5 opposing players.

So I am gathering from some of these comments, that when a puck is sent along the boards at a high rate of speed and no one else is around, the goalie should just stand there and hope it was sent in hard enough and it will go all the way around the boards and right back out of the zone. Also if the Hogs make a bad pass (this is completly hypathetical of course because the passing is great) in the offensive zone and the puck gets by the defence and is heading towards the goalie, rather than come out and get the puck under control. The goalie should stand back and watch, maybe get a drink or something while he is there, because after all he didnt make the bad pass.

So am I correct to guess that is why the blue paint is around the goal? That is the ONLY place a goalie should be. Maybe they could put that invisible fence there. It seems to work for my moms dog. he doesnt leave the yard to get his ball that might have strayed into the neighbors yard.
