Lawrence Principe. What more can I say? The man is brilliant and makes organic chemistry so explicit it's scary. He's the closest thing to a teacher I've come across here, and that's awesome because there *is* a difference between being a teacher and being a professor. He has an eccentric sense of humor and likes to tell us about organic chemists and their interesting experiments. I can't believe I'm saying this but I've never fallen asleep in his class...and for me that's an accomplishment.

His exams require you to apply concepts, not just regurgitate memorized information, so a lot of people don't like that. But I figure if the man takes the time to actually TEACH us organic chemistry, I really don't mind having to learn it and know what the heck he's talking about. He's also a huge part of the History of Science, Medicine and Technology department here, so he's not only about chemistry--balance is good.

Wow I've commented this thread a lot! So my top lecture professors here so far: Dr. Poland, Dr. Principe, Dr. Salch (he told us to call him Andrew though) and Dr. Drigotas. Awesome!
