Character Motivation: Doc wishes to continue his research into creating more Metal Men, an idea which struck him to be both interesting and personal. He sees it as his life’s mission to give most inanimate elements representation in the human world. His love for the original Metal Men as well as the lament of his failures in the process of creating more, such as Agatha, the Uranium Man, the Gas Gang, and many others.

Weakness: His mental stability is extremely fragile. Having already suffered from several mental breakdowns, including thinking the Metal Men were once his colleges, including his own brother, and believing that he was a Metal man himself, known as Veridium. He currently takes Prozac and a cocktail of other pills to


History: Will Magnus worked for the Government, producing a number of different and interesting inventions used for a variety of reasons, from military applications to the benefit of mankind. Creating the Metal Men he had many adventures with them, even creating a number of different Robots based on different Metal Properties, including the Uranium Man, Agatha, and the Platinum Man robot.

After a while of inactivity, the Doctor suffered a Nervous breakdown, tricking himself into believing that he had in fact trapped the souls of his friends and family inside the Metal men Robots, as well as himself becoming the Metal Man known as Veridium. This Delusion continued for a long while, even during other conflicts, and Will’s own personality being programmed into a Responsometer for a short time. During this time the Plutonium man, one of Magnus’ more dangerous creations went Rogue.

Again, another period of inactivity led up to the Metal Men being involved in the Crisis that rocked the universe to its foundation. Will remained outside of the conflict itself, instead sending his Metal men into action.

During the year after the Crisis, Will Magnus spent a lot of time trying to crawl out of his Depression and rebuild the Metal Men, with limited success. They somehow lacked the spirit and personality they had previously expressed. Discussing the problems openly with his former Mentor Dr. T.O.Morrow, the creator of Amazo. T.O.Morrow revealed that he had created and Artificial Soul, and shared this with Magnus, who once again managed to recreate the Metal Man known as Mercury.

The Government wanted control of the Metal men, putting the unique robots to military application. Magnus refused and a month later, the Military attacked Magnus with Iron, Lead and Platinum, but without their personalities,. During this event Magnus was kidnapped by a giant Robot, which took him to an island controlled by Egg-Fu, a haven for Mad-scientists; who were tasked to build dangerous and creative devices.

After finding out that his Medicine kept Magnus from creating more Metal Men, it was removed from him, leaving him dangerously unbalanced with the potential to create more robotic life forms…

Magnus flicked the collar of his trench coat up, to protect the back of his neck from the rain pouring from above. He had stopped outside of a block of offices, the fifth floor was to rent. The money he’d made during the past year, through somewhat dubious means, was enough for him to rent it and fit it with rudimentary scientific equipment; however, it did mean that the scientist was now sleeping on the floor.

Still, sacrifices must be made in the name of science. Will removed his wide brimmed hat and held it in his hands as he moved into the building. His hands were still shaky, it had only been ten minutes since his last medication dosage, and he was still feeling a little…odd. It was akin to feeling completely invulnerable, but watching someone else feel that way. It was like Will Magnus was a superman, but he was just an onlooker on the street, watching the meta-human soar above him.
