The cab pulled up to a random corner her picked, and Cassandra got out, paying the fare and then some. She slung her backpack over her shoulder and looked around. This late at night (or early in the morning, depending on your view) it would be harder to find people up and about. But those that were may be more likely to have seen something strange. Adjusting her non-prescription glasses, Cass walked toward an area that looked to be under heavy construction. Batman had indicated a construction site would be likely near their location. Now she just had to figure it out from there.
Even dressed as tomboyish as she was, it didn't take long for Cass to gain the attention of some vagrants hanging out near the site. She was aware of their looks--and also their desires, reading their body language. Cass hoped they wouldn't try to act on them. Not for her safety, but rather because she was trying to be inconspicuous right now, and beating up three attackers with ease would be pretty much the opposite of inconspicuous.
Still, she heard footsteps behind her. Great. Cass picked up the pace. So did they. Fantastic. Tonight nothing was going her way, it seemed.
