Melissa I am just bursting at the seams at some news I found out today! I will be attending a Hospice seminar in November and while flipping through the classes offered I saw that you will be a guest speaker! I am so thrilled for many reasons. I grew up watching you on LHOTP, you were my idol. In fact, I have the whole series on DVD and have been trying to get my own daughters interested in it. And then today when I found out about your involvement with Hospice I was just over the moon! I am a registered nurse that works for a hospice agency in Ohio and it is something I am passionate about. I am asked so often, "how can you do that type of work" and while I realize it isn't for most people, I find it the most rewarding work I have ever done. I truely feel like a "real nurse" working in this field. Everyone has something that they are good at, mine just happens to be a very compassionate and knowledgable nurse. I'm often amazed at how little people know about Hospice and the services we offer and what a difference we can make in the remaining days of someone's lives. We not only help the patient but are a great support network for faimilies. I am so proud that you are involved in this area as well. I really look forward to hearing you speak at the seminar and am so excited to be a part of this! I also really love the bracelets you are sponsoring and will be asking hubby for one for christmas.
