Toronto mob melt-down exposed online

I stumbled on this site while researching some info on some mafia books. It looks like this will be a great place to browse!

I'm involved with a group of online shit-disturbers (located across North America) involved in union reform and exposing the corruption and ever-present mob associations in those unions. We're located at uncharted.ca. Our last few years of battling have led to serious charges currently before the courts and an upcoming Canada-wide class action against the trustees of one it's biggest pension plans.

There is an entertaining story that we've been researching, writing about and following in real-time for a few years now. It deals with a former hotel that is at the heart of the Canadian mob, as the place where huge laundering scams have been running for 30 years and the biggest names in mafiadom have been connected to the place. It's ground zero for Canada's Enron, Canada's largest cash robbery, and we're even throwing in a mass mob burial site (hope you love the Hoffa legend).

Basically 30 years of shit has been uncovered and the City of Toronto is in a panic to find a way to deal with it as the story snowballs. Everyone has been caught with their pants down, holding their package and not really knowing what to do about it.

The reading should be fun enough for you... but we also include hilarious recorded phonecalls with the current mob-front man fronting for a well known 'family'. Classic recordings that I'm sure you'll enjoy.

Here's one to think about in your spare time... We're currently discussing Cosmo. He's now been linked to our favorite hotel (although it's siamese-twin... Royal Connaught in Hamilton... is just as dirty). We also believe that the 'unsolved' largest Canadian cash robbery ever was an inside job with the money likely funnelled through the hotel(s).

What are the odds on that one hitting?

Turns out the current condo renovation project has been proven to be a Commisso "fingers-in-every-pie business plan"... gone to hell.

Condo owners are running a real-time website newspaper detailing all the crap they are currently going through. It's pretty much dedicated to daily posting of the blatant law-breaking...

The Commisso Crime Family is behind the Westmount-Keele condo scheme at Keele and Wilson in Toronto.

The quiet but ever present sense of intimidation in the Westmount Condominiums is largely caused by the overriding presence of the Commisso Traditional Crime family that hangs out in the front Westmount Terraces sales office. They are the unspoken elephant in the room.

I will introduce them:

Cosimo Elia Commisso born 02 February 1945
Convicted of four counts of conspiracy to commit murder and three counts of conselling to commit murder. Conspiracy to set fires, possession of stolen cigarettes.

He was also found guilty of extortion, explosion with intent, arson, counsel to extortion, aggravated assault and willfully setting fires.

Rocco Remo Commisso born 21 June 1946
Convicted of three counts conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to possess stolen cigarettes. He was also convicted for offences that included extortion, arson, explosion with intent and aggravated assault.

Michael Jimino Commisso (alias Frank) born 02 February 1948
Convicted of three counts of conspiracy to commit murder and arson.

The Commissos were considered members of a larger entity known as the Siderno Group, Italian criminals whose ancestors, or they themselves, directly immigrated to Canada in the 1950s from Siderno Marina in Calabria, Italy.

The Commissos didn't do their dirty work themselves, they hired Cecil Kirby, an ex-Satan's Choice motorcycle bum to do it for them.

Over a seven year period, Cecil committed bombings, extortions and arson for the Commisso's. They included:
1. Attemped extortion of Murray Kalen with two sticks of dynamite in a maibox.
2. Bombed a Chinese restaurant at 111 Elizabeth Street. A cook was killed.
3. Bombed the Napoleon Restaurant because Cosimo's wife and mother-in-law felt insulted by the Măitre ď.
4. Car bombing of a court witness.
5. Extortion by car bombing. (Remo & Michael involved.)
6. Another car bombing involving extortion.
7. Broke a businessman's jaw with a black-jack. Extortion.
8. Burned the Abella Club for the insurance money.
9. Hijacked a tractor trailer loaded with cigarettes.
10. Extortion by two sticks of dynamite in a mailbox.
11. Car fire for insurance fraud.
12. Two bombings of apartment buildings at 1400 Dixie Road.
13. Attempted murder by a car bomb.
The list goes on with more beatings, bombings and buildings burnt for the insurance money.

Cheating your hit man is not a smart business move as Cecil went to the RCMP and became a very important police informant.

By early 1981, the Commissos owned Cecil Kirby approximately $100,000 when they gave him a contract to kill Helen Nafpliotis, an American woman in Connecticut. Later, they hired him to kill two Canadian men. These three planned murders failed due to Cecil being an active RCMP informant.

What struck me the most about reading about the Commissos, was not the crimes they had committed but how they so boldly and systematically cheated Cecil Kirby, their contract enforcer and murderer.

(This may be one habit that they have not given up. Look at how us condo owners have been cheated; five years after we moved in, the Westmount has not been completed.)

What does all of this mean?
This is old news so what does it have to do with us today?

It means a lot. Among many of the respectable residents and owners, there is a sinister feeling that hangs over our condominium like the London fog in an old Alfred Hitchcock horror movie.

The Commissos, especially Ramos and Michael, regularly hang around the Westmount-Keele front sales office. They have a very quiet but a visible role in the affairs of our condominium. Michael Commisso, along with Anna Teixeira and Joe Ieradi, were the original board members of our condominium.

In 2006, Paula Stante, Rocco Commisso's wife was receiving cheques of $5,000 to $7,613.75 a month from the condominium. We do not know why she was being paid so much; just a little less than what Vero Management Services was getting.

We can understand the fear that some residents have of our management. They may feel pressured to give our present board of directors their proxies.

We had one Italian-Canadian senior retract her affidavit after a "talk" with Joe Ieradi. After signing her affidavit, but before her talk with Joe, she told the lawyer: " I am afraid."

A small businessman sold his apartment in the Westmount because he saw that the building was being poorly managed but he was afraid to fight against our board of directors. He did not want to get beaten up or have his business bombed.

Another man, a tenant, told me that he has two small children so he wants to be careful about criticizing our management.

Yet others are not afraid because we put our trust in the hands of the Canadian police forces, our courts and in God.

Apparently the Italians uncovered that Thunder Bay, Ontario houses a sizeable mafia sleeper cell.

Also printed yesterday... the Italian prosecutor commenting on Canada's habit of looking the other way:

An old episode of the CTY News program W5 has been unearthed and posted onto youtube.

The video details an internal feud in LIUNA local 183. Video of the Commisso brothers and their union friend Cosmo Mannella make for really good television. Watch Cosmo try to explain away his mob interactions.
