Camorra welcome-home party leads police to arrest five
Firework display saluted mobster's release from jail

(ANSA) - Naples, August 28 - An enormous welcome-home party, complete with fireworks, led police to arrest five people said to be associated with the Naples Camorra mafia organization on Monday.

Friends had organized a celebration to welcome home from prison a member of the D'Ausilio clan of Naples. Instead, police - who had the place under surveillance - swooped in and nabbed two men known to be associates of the clan, one 36 and the other 31; a 20-year-old known to police; a 28-year-old; and a 16-year-old.

Charges range from use of dangerous explosives to creating a disturbance.

Ambush in Scampia, one dead, two injured
Back feud suburb Naples for smuggling drugs

(ANSA) - Naples, 28 AUG - A man was killed and two people were injured in an ambush tonight in Scampia neighborhood on the outskirts of Naples.

The victim is Gennaro Ricci, 36, in the hospital a 21 year-old and from Giugliano and a 25 year-old resident in via Stadera, Naples.

According to preliminary investigation hypotexts, the attack is part of the return of the feud between clans for control of the streets.

Ambush in C. Stabia, one killed
He was formerly affiliated with the clan D 'Alessandro

(ANSA) - Castellammare di Stabia (Naples), 6 SEP - A man with criminal records was killed in an ambush in Castellammare di Stabia.

Salvatore Polito, 50, was shot by gunmen near home, in the neighbourhood Moscarella, hit in the head and face.

According to police sources the man was a former member of the clan D' Alessandro.

Scampia camorra feud, drug cartel boss's brother killed

(AGI) Naples- A 41-year old man was killed as he came out of a cafe' in Scampia, the neighbourhood in Naples where yet another turf battle is on over control of the local drug trade.

Raffaele Abete, brother of the Abete-Notturno cartel boss controlling the area was shot twice in the head as he left Caffetteria Zeus at 1.45 am.

The prominent drug trafficking organization in control is set up against the Vanella Grassi group and the Magnetti-Petriccione.

Abete lived in via Ghisleri, in the infamous T / A area, one of the most popular drug-trafficking markets. He had a long criminal history dating back to 1986 including a robbery, personal injuries and criminal conspiracy.

The emergency aid squad that came to the man's rescue couldn't save him. His body is now at the II Policlinico in Naples for the post-mortem examination and the public prosecutor's investigations. No witnesses came forth even if the cafe' was quite crowded at the time.

Man shot before driving off bridge in Naples
Police are investigating murder

(ANSA) - Naples, September 17 - Police are investigating the shooting of a man while he was driving his car on an overpass in the southern city of Naples on Monday.

Officers who were called to the scene of the accident after a car drove off a bridge discovered that the man, who has yet to be identified, had gunshot wounds.

Police also found bullet shells discharged by a pistol nearby.
