STOCKHOLM: Three and a half years after first receiving threats from members of the Bandidos motorcycle gang at his Iranian restaurant in Goteborg, Massoud Garakoei lives in fear.

Biker gangs like the Bandidos, the Hell's Angels and the Outlaws have grown rapidly in recent years, the Swedish police say. The gangs engage in extortion and drug running, among other criminal activities.

When he was targeted, Garakoei, 43, who was born in Iran but is now a Swedish citizen, did what most people threatened by the gangs choose not to do. He went to the police, denounced the extortionists and testified in court.

The result, he said, has been three years of "life as catastrophe and hell" - his car torched, his two small children threatened and his finances in tatters.

Garakoei's fear is matched by his bitter disappointment in Sweden's institutions, which he said have failed to support him. He said his case illustrated why Sweden has become such fertile ground for criminal biker culture.

"These people are not stupid," Garakoei said in a telephone interview. "They can read the law, they can read the newspapers and they use the weaknesses they see. When you can threaten the life of someone's small child and only get a year in prison for it, it is easy to be a criminal."

Outlaw motorcycle gangs are a fairly recent phenomenon in Sweden. The first chapters were established in the early 1990s and they quickly made an impression. From 1994 to 1997, a bloody conflict raged between the Hell's Angels and the Bandidos; 11 people were killed and about 100 were wounded....

Gothenburg, Sweden, and the Tampa Bay area have more in common than immediately meets the eye. Both are west coast ports (Gothenburg on the North Sea, Tampa Bay on the Gulf), both have popular sports franchises (the Bucs in Tampa, soccer in Gothenburg) and both regions host many institutions of higher learning.

Alas, they also cower in fear at the possible resurgence of motorcycle gangs dealing in extortion and running drugs plus dabbling in occasional murders triggered by often-fictitious or drug-related debts.

Two of the motorcycle gangs, Hell's Angels and the Outlaws, operate in both Gothenburg and Tampa Bay and are fairly active in most other corners of the western world. The Swedes have a third established leather-jacketed gang, the Bandidos.
The usually peaceful Swedes don't really know what to make of their motorcycle gangs, which fought bloody turf wars about 10 years ago. At least a dozen riders were killed and about 100 more were wounded in shootouts at the time.

A doubling of extortion cases, to 1,300 in the past five years, has captured Sweden's attention. Swedish police suspect the figure is only the tip of the iceberg, according to Swedish Public Radio, maybe 10 percent of all extortion cases in a country of nine million.

Swedish extortion has particularly hit the restaurant and real estate business, pretty similar to the pattern in Tampa Bay. Although 1,300 cases have been reported, Swedes generally are reluctant to press charges and only seek police advice on how to handle the gangs' thuggish "collection" agencies....

Police fear renewed biker violence

Police have expressed concerns that a violent confrontation between Sweden's international biker gangs may be just around the corner as a third club threatens to undermine the dominance of the Hells Angels and Bandidos.

Since June, police have identified the emergence of seven new groups allied to the US-based Outlaws, Dagens Nyheter reports.

Going under the name Loyalty BFL Sweden, branches have been set up during the summer in Stockholm, Malmö, Skurup, Växjö, Tranås, Njuv and Sjöbo.

The group is reported to consist of around fifty members between the ages of 20 and 35. A numer of members have previous convictions for offences such as murder and assault. Many also have connections to extreme right-wing organizations.

One former member of the Outlaws is in no doubt that Loyalty BFL Sweden is a front group for the larger organization.

"My interpretation is that the leadership wants to pick a fight with the Hells Angels and Bandidos and hopes that Loyalty BLF will do the job," he told Dagens Nyheter.

There have already been signs that the more well-established gangs are less than happy with recent developments. In June, for example, two men with ties to the Outlaws were stabbed by Bandidos members in Norrtälje.

"We can be sure of one thing: the Outlaws' expansion has irked both the Bandidos and Hells Angels," police spokesman Thord Modin told Dagens Nyheter.

"There is a risk that we will see more violence between the organizations," he added.

Outlaws mc Sweden’s club house in Åtvidaberg was blown up, and a body was found in the rubbles. It turned out to be a prospect member in Top side mc, a HA supporter club, who had blown himself up. Now the Swedish police is really worried for the future.

According to Swedish police and media, Outlaws mc Sweden is history. Their club houses are being closed, their internet site is no more, and members and supporters are joining Bandidos mc Sweden. According to the police, it is by order of Outlaws mc’s European president, who got enough of Outlaws mc Sweden not fighting back when being under attack during this whole summer.

In other news. Top Side mc, it was a prospect member from that club who blew himself up while blowing up Outlaws’ club house, is also no more. According to Swedish media they are now a Hells Angels hang around chapter/members. Their home page is also gone.

In Norway Outlaws mc Norway play a different game. Their members are getting military training.

Hells Angels mc Denmark has created once more, a supporter group for young people with no taste for motorcycles, but a taste for rubbing shoulders with HA. It is called AK81. AK is for Altid Klar (allways ready), and 81 is for HA. Lets now see if they last longer than the last supporter group HA had, Red and White support, which was disbanded in the end by HA, because they were allways in the news because of their crimes.

During a technoconcert with the Dutch DJ Tiësto, a group of HA members and a group of second generation gang members do more than dancing. They have a rumble which the police stops before anyone are hurt badly. Latest incident in the conflict between HA and the 2G-gangs.

A man has been shot and killed the night between 19th and 20th november, in the clubhouse of Bandidos mc Finlands South West chapter in Harjavalta. The shooter is believed to a member of X-team, supporter group for Bandidos mc, and is under arrest. Besides that, there has been 2 to 3 police razzias against Bandidos mc Finland, around in Finland recently. The usually, drugs and illegal guns.

Growth hormones worth a total DKK 90 million were stolen from the pharmaceutical giant

Four member of the Bandidos motorcycle gang were caught red-handed Sunday night breaking into pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk's facilities in Gentofte, north of Copenhagen.

The incident was apparently the second time in the space of a weekend they had broken into Novo Nordisk premises.

A break-in and theft were reported to police on Friday night where 60,000 pills of a growth hormone, Norditropin, worth a total DKK 90 million had been stolen.

Police believed the four apprehended bikers were those responsible for the theft Friday night.

The gang had thorough knowledge of the security system and had been equipped with access cards and entry codes.

A police spokesperson said they faced up to six years imprisonment.

Norditropin is a growth hormone for children with weak growth and according to police the demand for the drug on the black market is on the rise.

Kim Kliver, head of the national crime investigation unit, told Nyhedsavisen newspaper that several raids throughout autumn last year had revealed that growth hormones were used as performance-enhancing drugs and were prolific in gyms.

He also believed the stolen pills were meant to be distributed abroad.

The four bikers were reportedly high-standing members and investigators believed that the group would be weakened by their capture.

They were charged with theft in a preliminary hearing held on Monday.

This weekend's break-in and theft at Novo Nordisk was the third of its kind since 1995.

Shots fired at prosecutor's home

Shots were fired early on Friday morning at the apartment of chief public prosecutor Mats Mattson.

Mattson, who works for the Swedish Economic Crimes Bureau, is active in the fight against organized crime, police sources said. Earlier this year, he appeared at a press conference following a raid on a number of address connected to the Bandidos motorcycle gang.

Shortly before 1am on Friday, shots were fired through the window of the prosecutor's fourth floor apartment in central Malmö.

There was one person in the apartment at the time though the prosecutor himself was not present at the time of the shooting. There have been no reports of any injuries.

Chief prosecutor Sven-Erik Alhem said the attack was most likely part of a larger plan.

He recalled the bomb attack on the home of prosecutor Barbro Jönsson in Trollhättan in November.

"It may be that organized criminals are trying to strengthen their own influence on society through an escalation of violence and threats," he said in a statement to news agency TT.

Suspended Sentence for Hockey Player Jere Karalahti

Finnish hockey player Jere Karalahti was given a suspended prison sentence of a year and eight months on Wednesday for complicity in a serious drug crime. The prosecutor in the case called for a six-year custodial sentence.

Karalahti was accused of helping acquire four kilos of amphetamine. The prosecution said that Karalahti had arranged 20,000 euros to finance the deal.

Karalahti himself has denied all of the charges. He said that he had merely paid a debt to one of the main defendants in the case.

A total of ten defendants in the case were given prison sentences. The three main figures in the case were sentenced to more than ten years.

The prosecution plans to appeal the leniency Karalahti's sentence and those of a few of the other defendants.

The case was the first in Finnish legal history in which membership in a criminal organisation - in this case, the Bandidos motorcycle gang, was seen as an aggravating circumstance. The standard was applied to six of the defendants.

Last year someone was shot and killed at the southeast chapter clubhouse of Bandidos mc Finland, and on 28.3.2008 Ville Veikko Vainio got 10 ½ years for the murder. Ville was working in the club bar that night and was having a really hard time with one customer, so hard he went to get a gun ... and shot him. Ville is not a Bandido member, yet, but a X-team member.

Fight between motorcycle gangs leaves one dead in Riihimäki

A fight between rival biker gangs led to the death of one man in Riihimäki on Thursday evening. Several shots were fired in the forecourt of the ABC service station just before 11 p.m. One youngish man died of bullet-wounds and another was slightly injured.

The victim was ferried 35 kilometres to a hospital in Hämeenlinna, where he was found dead on the pavement outside. Police are still trying to determine who took him there. The police interpretation of events is that the participants in the firefight were members of the Bandidos motorcycle gang and a local Riihimäki gang. There has been trouble between the two groups before. Both the deceased and the injured man belong to the local gang.

Police officers detained seven persons later on Thursday night after the shooting.
The case is being investigated as murder. The firefight also caused danger to innocent by-standers, as the gas station was open and had a couple of dozen customers at the time.

On Friday, police raided the Bandidos premises in Tampere, according to reports from the Finnish News Agency, STT.

In Finland the police is still investigating the murder of a Riihimäki gang member. A lot of Bandidos mc Finland members have been arrested.

Sorry to write back so late, haven't had time to check out the forum. You have to refresh my memory which country you are talking about, because i can't remember posting anything about Outlaws versus Bandidos...at least I think.

The relationship between Hells Angels mc Denmark and what is described as immigrant gangs is worse than ever. 19th of august a member of an immigrant gang was shot and killed, believed by HA as payback for something. Since then there has been four drive by shootings plus a hand grenade attack at HA's clubhouses in Copenhagen. There are two of them. The police are on their toes but can't make up their mind if a war is on the way or not...only time will tell...and I will keep you all posted.

I am getting old...

But about Sweden 2007, seems everybody was fighting everybody, and have to say I have no idea why Bandidos and Outlaws were after each other. Read some one year old articles from Sweden again, and there are no explanations or speculations to why. But Outlaws mc Sweden and Rough Crew mc Sweden are gone, that is for sure...I think.

Recruits flooding to HA Denmark
Hell’s Angels applications increase tenfold in connection with immigrant showdown.

The Hell’s Angels biker group is experiencing a flood of new applications for membership, in particular for its support group AK81. The group normally receives only few enquiries in its web-based guest book, but the past week alone has seen 250 queries.

Seventy-five of those enquiring have asked to become members of the AK81 group, or to be invited to Hell’s Angels parties in order to gain affiliation.

AK81 is a support group for the Hell’s Angels. The acronym stands for the Danish words Altid Klar (Always Ready), while 81 are the alphabet numbers for H and A.

Showdown
The increase in membership enquiries comes in connection with a showdown in recent weeks between immigrant groups and the Hell’s Angels as well as shows of strength by Hell’s Angels members who have walked the streets of Copenhagen and Århus en masse.

The Hell’s Angels home page has introduced a special AK81 page providing direct mail to the group, thus preventing police from being able to track approaches.

Going fast
A concerned police force has, however, registered the flood of interest in being recruited to what is termed the Hell’s Angels ‘mini-army’.

“We are worried that this is escalating and involving more and more people,” says Deputy Chief Superintendant Jørgen Isalin of the National Investigation Support Centre.

“It’s all going very fast now and there is no doubt that more and more people are joining. This is also happening on the other side too where large numbers of anti-social youths are supporting criminal immigrant groups who cause trouble in the streets and are provoking the Hell’s Angels,” he says.

HA no comment
Last month the conflict between the two groups cost the life of a young man. Since then the showdown has become more open, with shots being fired, hand grenades lobbed and marches in which the gangs show their strength.

“First of all it was the other groups that bothered the Hell’s Angels. Then they started AK81, and now they feel strong enough to arrive at parties, pubs and techno parties to show off their insignia. That is something the other groups won’t accept,” says Isalin.

It has not been possible to get a comment from the Hell’s Angels.

Shootout continues in Copenhagen
Shooting spree in apparent gang shootout involving immigrants and Hell’s Angels continues unabated.

Two men narrowly escaped being hit last night when between 15 and 20 shots were fired in the Nørrebro district of Copenhagen in what appears to be a turf war between immigrant gangs and the Hell’s Angels biker organization.

The two men were sitting on a bench when bursts of fire were shot through a passageway leading to Jægersborggade street.

Deputy Chief Superintendant Poul B. Hansen of the Copenhagen Police said the shots were in all probability ‘a hefty signal to bikers’ who hang out nearby and run the cannabis trade in the area.

Shots were fired from 50 metres in what Hansen said was close to attempted homicide if attackers had actually seen the two men on the bench.

Several cars were hit by the shots and impact marks were found in a wall in Jægersborggade street.

Arrests
Police detained six young immigrants on Monday evening although it was unclear whether the detentions had anything to do with attacks against biker hangouts over the past week or so.

Three were arrested in northwestern Copenhagen and three others were detained around Blågårds Plads square in Nørrebro. A loaded pistol was found under the passenger seat of the car in which the first three were detained.

“It is too early to say whether the six people can be connected to any of the shootings. Initially they are to be charged with the illegal possession of weapons,” the police spokesman said.

Three attacks
Police were called out three times during the night as a result of street shootings. No-one was hit during the attacks. Around midnight a car was also set alight in front of a Hell’s Angels clubhouse on Lindegreens Allé.

Police step up presence to quell further reprisals in ongoing gang turf wars Copenhagen Police are increasing the number of officers on the streets this weekend in a bid to prevent an escalation in violence between rival gangs.

Per Larsen, head of the Copenhagen police, said they have prioritised their enquiries into the gang struggles and are increasing police visibility on the streets.

'It has been quiet in Nørrebro in the past few days and we hope it will stay that way, but we're staying alert,' Larsen told Berlingske Tidende newspaper.

The search zone, which runs until 30 September, allows police to stop and search anyone on suspicion of carrying weapons.

One of the gangs implicated in the ongoing unrest is the Hells Angels bikers, its numbers swelled by the AK 81 support club. AK represents Altid Klar (Always Ready), with 8 and 1 numerically representing the letters H and A in the alphabet.

The bikers' club released a statement on Wednesday denying its involvement in the alleged conflict, but also rejected reports of a truce between them and certain immigrant gangs.

'Hells Angels is a motorcycle club that doesn't bother anyone, but if someone steps on our toes, we'll stamp back heavily.'

The club is also involved in ongoing tensions with the Trillegård immigrant gang in Århus, Jutland.

East Jutland Police have been tipped off by criminal sources that the Hells Angels plan to kill three Trillegård members.

Police sources also told Jyllands-Posten newspaper that the Hells Angels have been evacuating their family members from the city.

This follows the attempted shooting of two men connected to the Trillegård gang in a busy street on 4 August.

On 8 September, two hand grenades were thrown at the Hells Angels clubhouse in the north of the city. No one was injured, but the club was not going to take any chances. Police arrested a Hells Angels supporter outside the clubhouse on Tuesday night with a bullet-proof vest and a loaded gun, apparently protecting the premises.

Gang wants three HA supporters
The leader of one of the larger groups in gangland demands punishment and blood money to stop the current conflict with the Hells Angels.

The gang warfare between the Hells Angels and immigrant gangs has taken a surprising turn. The leader of Den Internationale Klub (The International Club) has demanded that the Hells Angels hands over three members of its support group, and provides financial compensation.

Den Internationale Klub’s Leader Danny Abdallah has demanded that the three named members of the AK81 group be handed over for punishment, and that the Hells Angels pays four million kroner in blood money for the death of 19-year-old Osman Nuri Dogan who was killed outside a pizza bar in August.

Four million
The killing caused a heated armed conflict to erupt between the Hells Angels and immigrant gangs. A member of the AK81 group, which is a support group for the Hells Angels, has been charged with the killing but police have not had enough evidence to have him jailed.

“What I’m saying is that we can find a solution. The Hells Angels must hand over the three people who were involved in killing Osman. Over and above that they must pay four million kroner in damages to Osmans family. That is hardly a big sum for a club such as Hells Angels,” Danny Abdallah told B.T.

“If you do something like that, you have to pay for it,” he says.

HA split in Århus

The ongoing battle between immigrant gangs and the Hells Angels has resulted in a split within the Hells Angels organisation in Århus.

At least seven bikers of the Århus Chapter of the Hells Angels have been suspended due to internal disagreements about how to handle the current strife between the organisation and immigrant gangs.

According to Ekstra Bladet, the seven disagreed with the confrontational policy that has been determined by the organisaiton leadership.

Among those suspended is Jimmy Nissen, the president of the Århus Chapter according to the reports.

It is unclear whether those suspended have been declared in Bad Standing and thus outcasts from the group.

COPENHAGEN • M'Bossaran Ciss still feels knots in her stomach when she recalls the night a stray bullet zipped through a window during dinner at a friend's apartment in Copenhagen.

"Two minutes earlier, I was standing at the window right in the path of the bullet and I could have died," the Guinean dancer said. The bullet went through the living room window before lodging in the wall just above the door.

Denmark's accustomed calm has been brutally shattered in recent weeks, as a violent turf war has escalated between Hell's Angels bikers and youths of immigrant origin with a raft of shootings across the capital.

The bullet that interrupted Ciss's dinner party on October 11 had been fired by a member of an immigrant gang who was being chased through the streets by three men in a car.

In the past two months alone, police say there have been 25 shootings in Copenhagen's otherwise peaceful streets, leaving one person dead and six injured from both sides. "It's a miracle that no innocent bystander has been hurt in these very worrying clashes," Copenhagen police spokesman Flemming Steen Munch said.

There appear to be numerous motives for the repeated attacks. "There is the control of the lucrative drugs market, 'turf' protection, jealousy (and) soiled honour that they want to wash clean with blood," Munch said.

Gang members were also seeking "vengeance in line with the principle of 'eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth,'" he added. Ciss's near-death experience was not the first time an innocent bystander narrowly escaped injury or death at the hands of the rivalling gangs.

"On several occasions we just barely avoided a tragedy," Munch said, stressing that "we are doing everything we can to stave off the worst."

The long-simmering conflict between the two gangs exploded into full-blown war after a 19-year-old man of Turkish origin named Osam Nuri Dogan, who was armed and wearing a bullet-proof vest, was executed on the street on August 19.

His body was riddled with 25 bullets in front of a Copenhagen pizza parlour. A member of Hell's Angels suspected of the killing was arrested but was soon released for lack of evidence. Since then, the violence and the often racially-loaded insults flung between the two camps have grown.

In an attempt to stem the clashes between Hell's Angels, its offshoot AK81 and the gangs of mainly third-generation immigrants, police have launched a vast operation in Copenhagen and in the western town of Aarhus and central town of Odense, seizing "more than 200 illegal fire arms," according to the justice ministry. "More than 3,000 searches of people and vehicles have been carried out, dozens of search warrants have been issued in these circles and some 40 people have been taken into preventive custody," the ministry said in a statement.

Justice Minister Brian Mikkelsen has also vowed to put "massive pressure on the gangs." "We will not accept such settling of scores in Denmark ... because our citizens must be able to move safely around in the streets," he told reporters.

Despite the massive police action, the violence has continued. Last week shots were fired at the Hell's Angels clubhouse in Copenhagen and between two cars in the heavily immigrant neighbourhood of Noerrebro. No one was injured.

Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen recently called for sending even more police into the streets, insisting on the need to "immediately bring an end to this fighting." He cautioned that allowing the violence to continue could result in it spilling over into "societal clashes between Danes and immigrants in general."

Danish biker boss remanded

The president of the Danish Bandidos biker group has been remanded in custody in Sweden.

The president of the Danish Bandidos biker organisation Jim Tinndahn has been remanded in custody in Sweden until November 14 on suspicion of motorbike theft.

"There's a 50-60 percent chance that he is involved in this. I needed the remand in order to investigate the case in peace," says Prosecutor Anders Månsson.

Jim Tinndahn and his defence pawyer plan to appeal the remand.

"We do not feel that the prosecutor has enough evidence so we will appeal," says Defence Attorney Sven-Eric Ohlsson.

The court hearing was held behind closed doors at the Helsingborg Police Station rather than in a normal courthouse due to the fact that Tinndahn, who lives in Sweden, is a biker. He is generaly believed to also be the European president of the Bandidos group.

Tinndahn has been held for several days following an operation earlier this week at the Bandidos clubhouse in Helsingborg.

Better late than never. In the trial against members of Bandidos mc Finland accused of murder/man slaugher, Jouni Tapani Laine got nine and a half years, Seppo Sakari Vaihoja got six years and Mikael Krister Lankinen and Petri Aarne Oskari Latvala got two years.

Whenever they are back on the street and still members of the club, they can show their Coup de Grace badges. A badge supposedly with the same meaning as HA's Filthy Few and Outlaws' SS.

Informal mediation between the Hells Angels and ethnic minority groups has put a stop to shootings in Amager.

Mediation in the conflict between Hells Angels bikers and young ethnic minority groups seems to have succeeded for the first time.

While shots are still heard in Copenhagen at regular intervals everything seems quiet in the Amager area.

The relative peace comes following mediation in September between HA bikers and members of their support group AK 81 on the one hand and a group of ethnic minority youths from the Holmbladsgade neighbourhood on the other.

Agreed to halt shootings

The meeting came about as a result of an initiative from a full HA member who contacted local social worker Henrik Vang Nielsen in connection with a series of episodes involving the two sides and which risked escalating into a more serious conflict.

“He contacted me to see if we could arrange something. Since then I have heard that they held a meeting in which they agreed to stop the shootings,” Vang Nielsen said.

Bikers in Amager

After 19-year old Osman Nuri Dogan was shot and killed in Tingbjerg on August 14, the conflict between the ethnic minority groups and the Hells Angels has resulted in several shooting episodes in Copenhagen, Århus and Odense. Since August 1 the Copenhagen Police has recorded nearly 30 public shooting episodes but only two episodes in Amager.

“I think the HAs were content to contain the conflict to one area instead of having it also spread to Amager,” says Vang Nielsen.

Detective Constable Steffen Pedersen says there are several high-ranking HA members who live or have a history in Amager. “You can imagine that the HAs were not interested in shootings in their own back yard,” he says.

Jim Tinndahn, Preidente of Bandidos mc Europe, is still under arrest, and in Denmark there is infighting in Bandidos mc. Some members have been kicked out of the club, the police have found a machingun in one of their club houses, and it is believed members of the club is getting ready for a civil war.

A court in Helsingborg in Sweden has found Jim Tinndahn, the leader of the Danish Bandidos biker organisation, not guilty of fencing in connection with the theft of three motorbikes.

The prosecution claimed that Tinndahn was involved in extensive crime and that he was, among other things involved in the theft of three expensive motorbikes from a garage in Falkenberg.

Stein Bagger’s former bodyguard, prominent Hells Angels member Brian Sandberg, narrowly escaped with his life yesterday when he was shot at close range

Danish television and radio personality Mads Vangsø put it best when he asked the government if residents of Copenhagen now need to buy bulletproof vests for their children, in a full page advertisement in national tabloid Ekstra Bladet.

His call for the government to take action came after the midday shooting that took place on an exclusive central Copenhagen shopping street yesterday.

High-profile Hells Angels member Brian Sandberg was sitting at the window of Joe & the Juice coffee shop on Ny Østergade street when two suspects approached and opened fire at 1pm.

CCTV footage and eye witness accounts describe one of the men drawing a pistol and shooting at Sandberg’s back twice from less than two metres away. The two men fled on foot from the scene.

It was initially feared that Sandberg was seriously injured, but it appears that the 9mm thick café window absorbed most of the bullet’s power. Ekstra Bladet reports that the first bullet penetrated the window and Sandberg’s heavy padded jacket, before leaving burn marks on his back. The second bullet also broke through the glass, but embedded itself in the café’s sofa, which had its back facing the street.

Sandberg was taken to hospital before receiving a police escort to the City police station at Halmtorvet square. He emerged after an hour of questioning to flashbulbs and jostling reporters. Sandberg did not answer any questions regarding the attempt on his life, only confirming that he felt fine, before being whisked away from the station by two AK 81 members in a waiting car.

AK 81 is a young supporters group of the Hells Angels and its members have been linked to many of the shootings between the bikers and immigrant gangs.

It is the second street shooting is less than three days after an Algerian man was hit by gunfire as he sat in a central café on Monday night. The 40-year-old was in a Thai restaurant in the popular café area of Halmtorvet, when a masked man emerged from a car and sprayed the restaurant window with bullets. The victim was hit by four bullets as he dived for cover, but is expected to recover from his injuries.

Hells Angels spokesman Jørn Jønke Nielsen told B.T. newspaper that he did not see this as an escalation of the difficulties between the bikers and the gangs.

‘There’s no conflict, so there’s no need to talk of retaliation,’ said Nielsen.

Sandberg has been the subject of much attention over the last year, not solely due to his Hells Angels connections. His security company BS Consultancy was hired by Stein Bagger’s IT Factory and Sandberg had effectively acted as Bagger’s personal bodyguard, until the executive fled to the US, leaving IT Factory bankrupt.

Berlingske Tidende newspaper reports that the bodyguard had been paid 200,000 kroner per month by Bagger to keep him safe. The attempt on his life came only an hour after he had been questioned by prosecutors in connection with Bagger’s ongoing fraud case.

Swedish biker gang chief gets 9 years in prison

The leader of a Swedish chapter of the Bandidos motorcycle club has been found guilty of orchestrating two car bombings in 2006.
Mehdi Seyyed was sentenced to nine years in prison.

The Goteborg district court on Wednesday said the 34-year-old ordered attacks against two men in the city on the west coast of Sweden. Hand grenades exploded under their cars, but both survived.

The court says one of the car owners had appeared as a witness against Seyyed in an earlier trial, while the other had denied him access to a night club.

Seyyed has denied the charges. It wasn't immediately clear if he would appeal.

Four others received sentences between 2.5 years and 9 years in prison for involvement in the explosions.
