It’s confirmed: Rage Against The Machine are indeed reuniting to play Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Held April 27-29, it’s not know yet which day they will play, but they are confirmed to perform their first gig in seven years at the event.

Also on the bill are the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bjork, Arcade Fire, Interpol, the Arctic Monkeys, Ghostface Killah, the Decemberists, Air, the Roots, Sonic Youth, Kings of Leon, Kaiser Chiefs, Travis, Lupe Fiasco, the Good, the Bad and the Queen (Blur/Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn's new group), Willie Nelson, Satellite Party (Jane's Addiction frontman Perry Farrell's newish band), New Pornographers, Black Keys, Silversun Pickups, Fountains of Wayne, Regina Spektor, Jarvis Cocker, Placebo, Stephen Marley, DJ Shadow, Damien Rice, Peeping Tom, Placebo, Rufus Wainwright, the Rapture, Felix Da Housecat, Pharaohe Monche, and reunited lineups of the Happy Mondays and Crowded House.

Plus, rumor has it, The Police might also reunite for this year’s shows.

Three-day passes for the festival will cost around $249, with tickets going on sale on Saturday. A limited number of one-day tickets will also be sold for $85 each.

Cool. They're the only reason to go to that show, though.

Wow, that's a horrible lineup. Rage is literally the only band there I'd want to see.

Yeah, and I'm not a particularly huge fan of RATM either, so there wouldn't really be any reason for me to go.

Although it is amazing how many people don't know what the band is talking about, they just like the sound of the music. This band really mainly existed as a political vehicle. That was the point. They just happened to be really good at what they do. Clearly that weighed in, they love making music. And it's good to see them reuniting.

If you ask me, I think that while Cornell does his solo thing, the guys should put out another Rage album. They have so many subjects to talk about! The republicrats have given them enough material to last a decade. But since the band was no longer fulfilling Zack's ambitions, I don't know if he's willing to get back into it. Although what has he really done since then? He's definitely made music, but I don't think much of it was actually released.

I hope something of Rage's set will be on tv or something. If not, I'm sure there will be some footage on youtube.
Cool.
