Title: It's Time for Lady Gaga to Go Away

I agree that she needs to GTFO. It's nearly impossible to escape coverage of her in some way or another. Whether it be her severely overplayed music, her ridiculous outfits or just being god damn everywhere all the time. Her music has gone from "Oh, I guess this is alright to play when you want people to dance" to "Dear fucking lord do I really have to hear that song again?"

Though, I do majorly disagree that she needs to take some time off and return later to keep from being over-exposed. I think she just needs to go away period. I've had about enough.

QUOTE
Screw Britney, Christina, and even Beyoncé, Gaga is clearly heir to Madonna's pop princess throne. And she could be even greater than her predecessor.

And this is just stupid. Why does anyone need to be heir to any fucking throne? Half the problem with her being overplayed comes from dipshits in the media implying that she is the new Madonna. 1 Madonna is just about enough.

But, to see how Lady Gaga is copying Madonna, check this video

NO! We need Lady Gaga! She's a necessary fail! Imagine the horror that would replace her.

Interesting.

The Pussy Wagon is all Tarantino though.

As I've said before, my mind has developed an amazing self-defense mechanism in that any time Lady Gaga is referenced or heard, all I hear is "Radio Ga Ga".

That said, here is my highly optimistic and unlikely theory on Lady Gaga:

I've heard that it's been made known that she has ACTUAL talent and can make music that doesn't suck, but chooses instead to make utter shit like paparazzi. So, I'm thinking (read: praying to Odin) that everything she's been doing so far was engineered to gain popularity so that she could eventually expose her unthinking and shallow audience to better music.

I know I'm going to be proven wrong, but I can hope. :/

You know what, put me on the job and she won't see the light of day, provided you pay the funds of course, half now, half later, only joking, but seriously she needs to GTFO and STFU a lot, since she's obviously the next britney spears.

If you've seen a video of her before her Gaga shtick, she's not bad.

Exactly. That, and the fact that I saw an interview with her on BBCA at some point where she didn't look at all comfortable being in character, are the only things I have to base my theory on.

Yeah, I've seen that before too. She changed her sound, her style, even her personality. It's amazing the dumb shit people do just to be famous.

I dunno, I don't really hate Gaga. Some of her songs are admittedly stupid, but catchy, and that's all that matters in mainstream music. I don't think many people find her to be talented, but since when has mainstream required talent?

Also, she doesn't like your beard.

Kitty - August 6, 2010 07:30 AM (GMT)
I don't mind her music when I hear it, but I don't go out of my way to listen to it either. I have to admit, at this point I am waiting for her to either fade out of mainstream or have a breakdown of one sort or the other.

Munkey - August 6, 2010 03:55 PM (GMT)
The former might take a while. After all, she's such an easy article for any journalist.

Kitty - August 8, 2010 05:39 AM (GMT)
The latter could happen at any time though.

Munkey - August 8, 2010 05:40 AM (GMT)
With her typical behavior, I doubt the journalists would be able to differentiate. :P

Kitty - August 8, 2010 05:44 AM (GMT)
She'd breakdown to straight. :P

Which is why it's so easy for her to stay in the limelight. Act like a total lunatic and do stupid shit all the time and you stay on the cover of the magazines. As the old saying goes: there's no such thing as bad publicity. <_<

Another journalist who thinks its time for Lady Gaga to give it up. And M.I.A. goes off on both Gaga and Oprah.

QUOTE
Another pop star, the more interesting M.I.A. recently took exception to Gaga as well. She went off to Time Out about how Oprah, "Made this huge speech at the ball praising Lady Gaga and about how she [Gaga] is helping Americans to be the best of themselves." She went on to say, "There's millions of other Americans who represent that for me. It's about numbers? About how much you're selling? Is it truly about the journey? Because [Gaga's] journey isn't that difficult: to go from the fucking Upper East Side to a fucking performing arts school and on to a stage at the museum of fucking wherever. That journey's about four miles."

HombreSabio - September 19, 2010 08:52 PM (GMT)
I thought this article from Cracked was really spot on, too.

Why It's Time to Stop Paying Attention to Lady Gaga

Scarlet Witch - September 20, 2010 05:27 AM (GMT)
