Title: Need help with my new toy.

I got a video iPod, technically for my b-day in 3 weeks. I'm having troubles loading videos on it though, can you guys help me?

I can't afford to get a lot of videos through the iPod store right now. I have a couple limewired ones though. I can get them onto my iTunes, and I figured out how to convert them so that they will load onto my iPod, but then I tried it out and there is no sound. Can anybody tell me what went wrong and how I can fix it?

Sounds (no pun intended) like a crappy converter that only converted the video and not the audio too. If it was freeware then thats most likely the case. I'd search for a better free converter.

The converter came with iTunes. I pretty much figure its how they get you to buy the songs from them.

I don't know how to get a different converter. If you can give me a hint I would appreciate it. Other than that I am currently in the process of trying to find videos that I don't need to convert. Its a long process, but as of right now I have no videos to speak of for my iPod. If I get any that will increase my videos by 100% or more.

Need to know the specific file format they need to be converted to to play on the iPod.

I recently bought a Philips GoGear 4GB portable multimedia player. Its video format is a specific type of WMV for videos. Came with a converter also, but I've no problems out of it.

I have no idea. If I figure out how to know what it is I will tell you.
