I've been around the internet forums and seen rep points where people can add rep if someone has a good post. Any clue if we can bring that shit here?

My only issue with rep points is that people may get good rep points when they dont deserve it or Good posters will get negative rep points just because they dont post whore or something stupid like that.

Who controls the points/Who can add-subtract points?

If everyone has the ability to adjust points, I would say no.

I'm pretty sure that a mod or admin can edit it just in case something like that happens.

The other forums I go to, legendofzelda.com, has a currency system set up. Members are awarded money (fake of course) for every post they make, based on how long/complex the post is. That money is then spent on digital art, like sigs and whatnot. I haven't spent a whole lot of time there, so there may be more purposes for the money, but... yeah.

Don't count on getting anything from them about it though. About a week ago, I sent a PM to the Admin about another feature they have and still haven't gotten a response.

The problem with "rep points" is that they're redundant. If you frequent the boards and you make good posts and people like you, you already have a good reputation. What does a number add to that? (And this is beside the potential for abuse.)

In SLC, I have a Rep System which works pretty good but not a lot of members on there that go there regularly so it doesnt really get much attention. It would be good to see here since there's a lot of regular posters. Also there's a bit of hostility it seems between some posters so the rep can go down from their rep rating minus thingy. Hmm. How it works is that a person can press the button under their avatar and member info which is under their avys. There's a button to add rating and a button to subtract rating.

If they want also, with each rating they give to a person, they can add a comment. If I give you a positive rating, your number goes up by one. It doesnt go by how many posts you have. That would just be stupid. Ill link you on MSN to the thing for it unless you want me to post the code here.

Just ignore them then. It's not that hard to do.
