Title: Brett Favre signed on for one more year
Description: wtih Green Bay, of course
IAmMrDonut - April 27, 2006 02:00 AM (GMT)
Brett Favre will be playing one more year in the NFL, with the Packers. He announced this morning (or somebody did for him) that he'll play this season, after taking months to deliberate and make us fans sit on the edge of our seats.
Search anywhere on the web and you'll find someone with an article about it.

Ah crap...... 1 more year of this sucker
IAmMrDonut - April 27, 2006 03:09 AM (GMT)
I like Favre and Donald Driver together.

Every Packer  fan just got a boner.

He's only going to go out and make himself look bad like he did last year by throwing 3 interceptions a game.

I like Favre and all, but he's not exactly in his prime anymore.

As true as that is, they are a better team with him than they are without him.

i like brett favre, i always have since the packers had him and sterling sharp, but the packers need to get him some help on offense. i don't like ahmand green (spelling), and i don't think favre should have came back unless they got him some help on that team. he isn't 3time mvp bret favre who made the packers awesome just by the fact he was on the field.

Good news, bad news...
Good: Green Bay picked up A.J. Hawk in the first round. If there is one thing we need, it's a better tackling defense.
Bad: The Packers traded Javon Walker. Freaking GOSH!
Saiyu - April 30, 2006 10:34 PM (GMT)
Javon wanted out anyway, didn't he?

<_< i just hope the packers play good this year. i still don't think they are anywhere near as good as they were back in the super bowl days.

I think going 4-12 (same record as the Niners :o ) would have been a sign for Farve to hang it up. I personally don't see Farve having that great of a season this year either.

The record doesn't say much. As much as Favre himself may have struggled, the team as a whole really wasn't in top form. You can't pin the entire season on him.

Ahman Green, Javon Walker, Bubba Franks, a lot of headline-worthy players got injured, early. Not that easy to be successful when you get hit with a blow like that.

that's true, but i guess some people put too much on favre, because of the fact he won an mvp 3 times in a row and they think he can carry the team alone. i don't believe in such nonsense. i know favre is a great player, but everyone has their limits. just look at payton manning.
Saiyu - May 7, 2006 02:43 PM (GMT)
That happens in sports all the time.

Peyton Manning is really good. He too has (had?) great players backing him up, like Edgerin James and Harrison.

and now Edgerin James is no longer on the team. I know Manning to Harrison is money but who they got in the backfield to complement that (I dont follow all the teams in the NFL very much I know)?

he DID throw more interceptions last season (29...whereas his previous high was 20) than he has all the other seasons he's played. and INTs are usually a result of poor decisions....but also because he didnt really have anyone to throw to (or so it woudl seem)
still, having the same record as the Niners (and other teams that didnt do so hot this last season)...and the first time the Packers have had a losing season since he's been on board....hmm?
Twilightlord - May 25, 2006 02:47 AM (GMT)
i've been saying for years that favre needs one stand out wide reciever, but the defense last year was really bad for the packers i heard.
IAmMrDonut - May 25, 2006 02:50 AM (GMT)
The defense could not tackle... it was sad.
Donald Driver is a stand out receiver.
