My brother, Josh and I will again be hosting 3 panels at Fanime this year! If your going be sure to check them out:
Consoles and the Industry (Friday, 4-5pm) Game developers often times create games based off of the technology of the console it'll play on. For example, many motion controlled games are being released due to Wii's hardware and more emphasis is placed on online play than single player play on several popular games due to Xbox Live. How much emphasis do developers place on hardware technology when developing games and does this compromise the quality of gameplay? Anime Impact on USA cartoons (Saturday, 7-8pm) Anime has impacted animations in the USA in several ways. Cartoons with more mature themes are now commonplace in America due in large part to anime influence. Several animation techniques have been adapted by American animation studios from popular anime. There are also American animations which were created as a direct result of their creators watching anime. Check out this panel to partake in this discussion topic. The RPG genre (Sunday, 10-11am) RPG video games are of the most prolific and highest selling genres in the industry. But why? What makes this genre so appealing to gamers? And how does one truly define an RPG video game? How has RPG video games changed over the years? What is the difference between traditional, strategy, and action RPGs? We'll answer all these questions in this panel. |
