No experience keeping the fish, but it sounds like from what I read a good cantidate for R/O water.

I think it might be time to buy an RO unit, I have been buying it from my lfs up till now. if you have still got it could you link me to the info you have come across gm

Only looked after them for a short period of time, haven't kept them myself... but I have done some research on them and produced this profile. Hope it helps a bit!
