Under Arrest, Again

Billy resisted in mimicking Leah's actions, as both his hands were easily seen by Peter. If he had moved them out of sight, his friend would know only too well. "Yep. Barn is still here." He nodded.

Peter looked at the horse, blinking out of slightly surprise before shrugging. "It's fine. You have done more then enough here and I imagine you need your own equine for this place." He nodded. "Anyways, I came to check to make sure no one was dead and my stable was still standing. Also, it is.... About eight." THe man nodded, trying to give subtle hints for his friends to wrap up their business. "Tucker is inside the house still." He nodded before turning acutely and walking out.

Once the cowboy was out of sight, Billy let his eyes drop to Leah. "Do you know how cruel you are?" He inquired softly, turning so they were face to face as a seductive smile slipped onto his lips.

Leah just nodded to Peter. "Thanks." she said on his way out for letting her stallion stay.

Once Peter had turned the corner around the barn, she turned back toward Billy, putting both arms around his back. Nodding, she couldn't help but smile. Getting so close that her lips brushed his as she spoke. "I think that was our cue to leave," she mentioned, looking into his eyes with her hazel ones, "So I guess I'd better go say goodbye to my love." With a grin she placed a kiss on his cheek then walked over to Flame's stall, 'her love'.

Leaning over the door she patted Flame and said good-night.

"Yea..." Bily grinned. "I think Peter might be a little more then annoyed if we do not pick up my son and remained out here in the stables. If so, we kinda loose the instant babysitter." The smile only broadened as he followed her slowly.

As she approached Flame, one of Billy's eyebrows rose slightly in a playful manner. "So you have disowned me for a horse? That, my dear, is a dagger to the heart." He smiled sheepishly, walking up behind her.

Leah turned around, leaning against the half door to Flame's stall. "I'm sorry, but this horse was my first love." she said with a shrug, trying to sound as serious as possible.

For a moment, she just stood there quietly, looking up into Billy's eyes. She thought about the day and how crazy it had been. With yesterday's mess with Becca and Migaul, then today they got in two big fights and she got arrested, but somehow they had finally admitted their love for one another and everything was fine at the end of the day. If they could get through a day like today, then they could get through anything.

With a sigh, she stepped toward Billy, putting an arm around him. "Let's go get your son and get home." she said softly, starting to lead him toward the house.

"Sounds good." He nodded, sliding his arm around her and began to walk slowly up to the house.

Peter had seemingly been watching them and as they neared the steps of the house, he appeared in the doorway with a sleeping Tucker in his arms. Billy pulled away from Leah to take his child from Peter, shifting the childs weight so he could still reach out to Leah.

"Tucker has slept on and off, and already had dinner." The cowboy shrugged, leaning against the house. "He might wake up later, might not." He continued with knowing eyes.

Billy nodded, trying to supress the growing grin as his friend still hinted at them.
"Thanks, Peter."

"Anytime." The cowboy winked before walking back into the house, closing the door behind him.

Leah leaned against the railing of the porch while Peter handed Tucker off to Billy. Peter and Kaia really had done so much for them, epecially in caring for Billy's son while they worked out their problems. She noticed how her and Peter's relationship had changed over the last few years. First they owned the stables togeather and were very close, but now, he seemed like their babysitter that she also worked for.

"Thanks Peter." she said with a soft grin. Then Leah turned and walked back down the driveway toward her truck.

Billy could not help but grin, walking back towards the the truck. Opening the back door, he softly set Tucker on the seat before he himself took the front.

He let out a long sigh, resting his head back as he awaited Leah to get in and start the truck. Tommorrow he had work. The next day he had work. The day after that he had work. So much for the rest of his vacation. Oh well... Boss mentioned a few days ago about finding him a new partner, perhaps a partner would be found soon so he can get back on the streets.

Looking back at the barn for the last time that night, Leah hopped in the truck and pulled the keys out of her back pocket. She put one into the ignition and started it up without a word. As she backed out, she also looked down at Tucker, making sure the loud rumble of the desiel engine didn't wake him.

Soon they where headed down the road on the short drive back to Billy's house.

"So," He started softly, "it has been an adventurous day. Found out stuff... Forgot stuff... Made up on stuff." A small smile laced his lips as he spoke. "Hopefully tommorrow things get back to normal. Or close to it. Work will be hell, but Boss mentioned something about finding a new partner."
