After the morning excursion, Billy had made a doctor's apointment once he reached the police station. Few noticed his disheveled appearance and lack of conversation as he hastily made his way to his office.
Picking up the phone, he dialed his doctor and schedualed an afternoon appointment before making arrangements at the new fancy resturaunt. Several officers peeked their head into his office for various reason's but a familar voice stepped in, closing the door before taking a seat in front of the desk. Bobby, a long time friend of Billy's, watched the man softly as he let the silence pass between them without interuption. He waited for Billy to talk, knowing that the man would speak eventually. A small security box sat before Billy as he fidgeted with its contents, letting his eyes only slip up on occasion to confirm the presence of Bobby before returning his gaze. The box was open, recieving soft looks from the worn cop before he removed a small red velvet box from the metal container and shutting the lid. He locked it before returning it to its place in a drawel of his desk. Covering the small velvet box with his hand, he looked up at Bobby and nodded. "I have a doctor's appointment later, so I'll be leaving early. Cheif already approved it." Bobby nodded only slightly, still watching the man before him. "Chest pains." Billy added. "What were you doing here early this morning?" Bobby spoke, questioning the man with interest. "I saw it on the video this morning, recapping the night." Billy blinked, letting his eyes rest on the man before him. "Leah and I had a fight." "A bad enough fight to have a man leave his house and return to work, hours early?" "Yes." Bobby nodded his head slowly, letting his eyes grace over the top of Billy's desk. "Are things better now?" Billy was the one to drop his eyes, wondering how this question should be answered. "Depends on how you look at it. She lied. I left. I returned. We fought. We tried making up. Then chest pains." "Chest pains?" Bobby's face distorted slightly in confusion, looking at the man across from him. "Chest pains." The younger officer repeated with a nod as the older man exhaled before rising to his feet. "Very well." And with that, he walked out. --- At the doctor's office, Billy reclined in one of the unconfortable chairs, letting his head rest against the wall as sleep tugged at him. His name was soon called out by a nurse as he was escorted into one of the many rooms, to be left once more. Yawning, he let his hands slip into his pockets, brushing against the red velvet box he had from earlier. Holding it in front of him, he watched it softly before slowly opening the small box to see its glory. Inside, a set of marriage bands sat together as a pair, looked upon with awe by their beholder. The last time he had cast his gaze towards these was several years ago. It took much strength and courage to look again, much less remove them from their designated spot in the security box. His fingers delicately pulled on of the rings from its place as he traced the band of it with his finger. The last person who wore this ring was Hannah. His last wife... The door of the room opened apruptly, spurring the man from his thoughts as he replaced the ring, closed the box and slipped it back into his pocket. A wisened man stepped in, wearing the standed lab coat while carrying a clipboard. " 'Lo Billy. Let's see now... Chest pain. Shallow breathing..." The man read over the chart, eyeing Billy at periodic times. "Six foot. Healthy... Good. Good. Good. Check. Officer." He mumbled slightly before nodding attentively. "So, Bill, explain these chest pains to me. When did they start?" "Early this morning." "For about how long did they last?" "Eh... Five, six minutes." "Good, good. What were you doing?" Billy blinked, suppressing a growing grin. "Um." What was he suppose to say? "I was.... Cuddling heavily." The doctor paused, looking over at the man who tried suppressing the evergrowing smile. Blinking, the wisened man mumbled as he wrote on the clipboard, "Having sex." "Now describe the pain intensity between 1 through 10, ten being the most painful." "11." The doctor looked back up, eyeing the man once more. "11?" "I have been shot before. Been in a car accident. Been attacked by a bat. Have had countless broken bones and injuries. I know what pain is. Those chest pains were an 11." "Ever had these pains before?" "No." The appointment went on from there to several tests. Billy had blood drawn and was scheduled to return withen the following week for results and maybe even more tests if needed. Either way, the outcome was grim as the doctor explained several possibilities and concerns. He was suppose to avoid any high-pressure or adrenaline actives until the results came, which he merely laughed at once out of the ear shot of the docter. His job was built on pressure and adrenaline and he could not afford, not to work. --- So now, here he was, heading home for to get ready for the date he had planned. A nice way to end the day. A much needed break from the outside world. Peter already had the kids, so all was needed was he and Leah. Pulling into the drive, he opened the door and stepped out, closing the truck behind him. Walking up to front door, his hand brushed the side of pocket, to reassure he had the small box still. Nodding silently to himself, he started to walk through the front door as his chest tightened unexpectedly. He stumbled slightly and coughed, closing his eyes momentarily to supress the growing pain. ((Hehe... Looooooooooooooooong post. About time I conjured one up.)) -------------------- Amicitiae nostrae memoriam spero sempiternam fore: "I hope that the memory of our friendship will be everlasting."

That morning, Leah took the kids with her to Peter's and let them play around. Her twins felt at home at the ranch, no surprise. Her work felt like it was taking for ever that day. She was beyond anxious to get back to Billy and find out the results from the doctor.
"I love the way you wear those worn out blue jeans walking all around in the big sunshine Baby let me believe that you're perfect at least for a little while" Leah had decided a long time ago she would only do what she liked, and that ment she would only work on a ranch. Spending her days mucking stalls, feeding horses, filling waters, working horses, and raking barn isles. And of course, coming home filthy. "You don't have to tell me what you're thinking You can keep all that to yourself Baby we got such a good thing going don't show me that you're someone else Cause Im acting as if this blue sky's never gonna rain down on me I'm telling myself This true love's never gonna leave me lonely Unless there's something I've missed, I'm acting as if" Another part of only spending her days doing what she like, was spending her days with the people she liked. And right now that was Billy, and no one else. Leah could never imagine herself more head over heels in love with someone. "We don't have to have a conversation Baby don't ya think it's going fine We don't need to send out invitations to tell the world that you're mine Cause Im acting as if this blue sky's never gonna rain down on me I'm telling myself This true love's never gonna leave me lonely Unless there's something I've missed, I'm acting as if" A hard worker, Leah was glad to find that she finnished her chores early enough to spend time with Flame. Over the last week he had gained back weight and she was determined to gain back his condition. From the moment she saw that horse she knew there was nothing else in the world that could compare. Though she had yet to ride him, the experienced horsewoman could tell she had something big. "As if your sweet kiss is never gonna fade away And the way you look at me will never change Cause I love the way you wear those worn out blue jeans, walking all around in the big sunshine I'm acting as if this blue sky's never gonna rain down on me I'm telling myself This true love's never gonna leave me lonely" And there was Encore. Quickly become more comfortable with Leah and letting her work with her more and more. Well, then, every other horse at the barn Leah had managed to make friends with. That day she thought about her girls a lot as they wandered around, helping her and playing with the animals. One thing she had always dream about was teaching them to ride and each becoming as horse crazy as Leah was. But right now she knew her life was to hectic to try and raise them right. She didn't want the extra burden on Billy either. The timing wasn't right...but eventually it would be. After many thank you's to Peter and Kaia, Leah was anxiously on her way back home. ---- Just as she shut off the water to the shower, the woman heard Billy's truck pulling in. Stepping out of the shower, she wrapped the towel around her and dried off quickly. When she exited the bathroom, finally, she was dressed nicely and hair was done up. Smoothing down her skirt, which was characteristicly cowgirl designed, she brushed the few strands of hair that fell into her face. In the bedroom, she searched for her heels; Leah had gone shopping a few days eariler, considering she didn't have many clothes with her. When she found the black, open toed pumps, she walked down the hall with them in one hand. Grinning, she looked around the corner to see Billy. But, when she did, the grin slid off her face. Quickly, she walked up to him and put out her hand. "Hey." she managed to mutter when he caught his breath. -------------------- Leah Lovette Can't stay away |

The pain passed just as quickly as it had come, before Billy smiled and took Leah's hand, pulling her up close to him. He merely gazed softly into her eyes before gently kissing her lips once or twice.
"You look amazing. I do not think I would be able to dress up nearly as well as you." He complimented with a growing grin. -------------------- Amicitiae nostrae memoriam spero sempiternam fore: "I hope that the memory of our friendship will be everlasting."

Curls falling around her shoulders, Leah slid closer to Billy. Her grin matched his and she nodded. "Something about a skirt on you just doesn't turn me on." the woman muttered in her thick accent.
Putting a arm around the man's waist, she puckered her lips in thought. "So, I can't wait any longer. What did the doctor say?" Leah questioned. -------------------- Leah Lovette Can't stay away |

"The doctor says to come in in a few days to see what the tests say." Billy nodded slightly. "He does not believe it is a heart attack but instead something that usually happens before a heart attack, yet without the heart attack happening.... If that makes any sense at all..." He blinked, questioning his own sentence.
The man nodded slightly, letting his head tilt some as a smile graced his lips. "The doctor also said that I was not suppose to become active in high-pressure or adrenaline activities. I guess he forgot what my job was." A soft laugh left him before he kissed the her forehead. "Moving on, I guess I must clean up for tonight. People might start talking about a beautiful cowgirl like you going around with a flithy cop like me." He nodded once more with a playful grin before pulling away hesistantly and meandering towards their room. -------------------- Amicitiae nostrae memoriam spero sempiternam fore: "I hope that the memory of our friendship will be everlasting."

"Hum," she nodded, "Sounds ok enough to me."
Leah left that at the short explaination. If Billy was ok, he was ok...but if he wasn't, she was going to hope the doctors could do something about it. Resting her hand on her hip, she shook her head tiredly as the cop walked down the hallway. Soon she shuffled her way over to the couch and plopped down, skirt ruffling around her as she curled up her legs. -------------------- Leah Lovette Can't stay away |

He reappered after several minutes later, dressed in a new pair of jeas and a blue button up with silver linning. The man was cleanly shaved as he held out his hand towards Leah.
"Ready, my dear?" Billy questioned with a growing smile. ((Bleh. I lost my creative spurlge...)) -------------------- Amicitiae nostrae memoriam spero sempiternam fore: "I hope that the memory of our friendship will be everlasting."

Pulling down her black, tight fitting shirt slightly, Leah looked up to see Billy sauntering down the hall. She raised herself slightly before she took his hand and stood up, gleaming with beauty.
"Well now, look at you." she grinned, raising an eyebrow and interlacing their fingers. "Must we really go out to dinner," the woman commented, "I mean, that place is so expensive." Their income definatly seemed to be a problem. One working for the state and the other a little side job didn't exactly put them at a high income bracket. Then there was the ordeal of the kids and getting a new house: a house of their own. One other thing had seemed to creep to the back of Leah's mind...the money she still owed to the loan sharks. Though she wouldn't admitt it, she feared for Billy the most. The men knew who ever she happened to be with would be the one with the money...but some were along the way, she fell in love. Snatching her shoes up from by the front door, the cowgirl continued outside toward the truck. -------------------- Leah Lovette Can't stay away |

((I'm gonna fast forward to the dinner, if its okay.))
Seated at the table, Billy's eyes skimmed over the menu as he tapped several fingers subconciously. So many things appealed to the starving man, as the stress of the heart-thing, ring and work seemed to clutter up his day, he found little to no time to eat. "Too many things sound overly appetizing." He spoke aloud, letting his eyes glance over the top of the menu. "Perhaps the grilled chicken with lemon. Sounds simple enough, yet filling." A soft frangance layered the air, swirling with spices of freashly cooked meals. The lighting was dim as their table was secluded to a corner. Servers bustled quietly around the large room, waiting paitently on customers to order. -------------------- Amicitiae nostrae memoriam spero sempiternam fore: "I hope that the memory of our friendship will be everlasting."

Leah would look up at at the man across from her everytime his eyes dropped down to the menu. Her own hazel eyes held nervousness, just like her fingers tapping on the table. For a moment or two she distracted herself with skimming over the menu, but couldn't stay focused. All of the sudden she clamped her hand down to her side as it began to shake. The woman finally had decided she would tell Billy, he knew enough about her life already to know what had been bothering her for so long...and she hoped it would make sence of things.
With a deep breath, Leah tried to clear her thoughts. Glancing about the resturant she picked out all the little details, a minor side-affect to the mild autism that affected her as a child. Not the kind of autism that made you socialy impaired, just the kind that made you more sensitive of the details and stimuli. To her it was just one of those little things that led her to where she was now. "Their not stressin' you out to much at work, right?" she spoke up slowly, trying to get her mind on what was at hand...as if she didn't have enough to worry about. -------------------- Leah Lovette Can't stay away |

Shrugging lightly, he set the menu down to the side after he decided his meal.
"No more then usual." A faint smile lingered on his lips as he watched her. Something was... Odd. Or atleast, off or uncertain as his keen eyes picked up on her statue. "How was your day?" ((Bleh... I had a better post but my computer ate it.)) -------------------- Amicitiae nostrae memoriam spero sempiternam fore: "I hope that the memory of our friendship will be everlasting."

Leah shrugged, "Same old, same old." Taking notice of the fact he was probley taking notice of her quirks, she gave a slight grin and relaxed in her chair. "The kids helped out a lot." the woman added.
Finally her eyes drifted downward to the menu, skimming it to find something she might like...Leah was never very picky. Well, she wasn't picky when it came to food; for just about everything else, she was.
