Fvza Rpg > Introductions > Raike Shinoba

Posted by: Naruto X13 Nov 14 2006, 08:45 AM
Full Name: Raike Shinoba

Age: 16

Occupation: None

Ethnicity: Japanese

Eye Colour: Black

Hair Colour: Black

Height: 170cm

Weight: 60kg

Preferred Weapons: Shuriken (a.k.a. ninja stars), Kunai (little japanese daggers), and various other ninja weapons

The Backstory of the Character:

Raike Shinoba was born in an isolated countryside located in Japan. He was only seven years old when a mysterious gang consisting of highly trained gunmen raided his place, killing both his parents in the process. After the gunmen left with what they came for, he was told by his dying father that he was a descendant of the famous Shinoba ninja clan. Also, he discovered that the clan had been hiding for the last 200 years in order to protect the sacred object that the gunmen had taken. He also revealed that the attackers were members of a famous and the most powerful vampire clan, Vlaxikahn. With those words, his father passed away.

When Raike checked the house for anything worth taking, he found a collection of high quality ninja weapons that had been concealed in the secret room beneath the house. He has since hunted vampires to avenge his family, and to take back the object that the vampires stole.

No one knows what the object is, not even his parents succeeded in acquiring that particular knowledge. But they knew that it is of great importance, and in the wrong hands could bring disaster upon all life on Earth.

Among the equipments Raike took from his ruined place was a secret ninja scroll. It contains many secret ninja techniques such as the secret art of creating illusions that resemble oneself, and how to climb up cliffs that have no footholds etc. etc.

Also, because of his unique ninja blood, he is immune to vampire and zombie virus, allowing him to hunt the undead without him worrying about turning into one of them.

Um.... no. Check the list of forbidden things. That would clearly fall under the supersoldier thing.

Okay, then. Raike Shinoba is NOT immune to vampire and zombie virus. Like everybody else, he becomes an ugly rotting chunk of flesh when he gets bitten by an undead.

And by the way, the reason why I created a character who doesn't use guns is: I don't know anything about them except that they are efficient killing weapons. And I can't be stuffed finding out.

Posted by: Alaska Nov 15 2006, 06:58 PM
Pff. Check the list some more. You can't use Magic. That's a truckload of bull, buddy. We're a legitimate RP, not some pussy version for guys who like Naruto. Play legitimately or don't at all.

PS: Just because you don't call it magic doesn't mean it is. You can be a Ninja. You can't do "Techniques" or whatever the Hell you call them. I can play without magic and I have fun, so too can you.

Posted by: Cyber78 Nov 15 2006, 10:21 PM
Although on the other hand I can quite easily create allusions of myself without magic. All I need is a camera, a printer, a lot of ink, and a few cardboard cutouts. As for scaling a cliff without any footholds, that's also simple. Simply take have somebody drop a rope down from the top.

Okay, okay. I'm sorry. I'll make up another character who is more realistic.

But the problem is, as I mentioned before, I don't have any knowledge on guns or any other mechanical weapons whatsoever. And I think if my character were to use one, I myself should know how to operate it. This means that my character has a distinct disadvantage. This made me try and fill the gap with some mildly superhuman abilities. Anyhow, if I've offended you, I'm deeply sorry and you have my apologies. I recently found the FVZA website while searching for some information on flamethrowers, and thought I might join, which I did. I'm a newcomer here, and I'm not familiar with the FVZA RPG. This caused me to infringe on the rules and possibly offend you. And I'm again sorry for not reading the rules and 'the things that are prohibited' properly. From now on, I'll regularly check for any new stuff and avoid violating it. Furthermore, I'll see to it that my friend (a.k.a. Itachi) also fixes up his character, as well.

And by the way, ninjutsu (ninja techniques) are real. I admit that they couldn't create clones, manipulate water to attack enemies or any other bullshit like that, but they had special training which helped them to master various skills required to become a ninja. Is it okay if my new character is a master of that discipline instead?

Posted by: Roncas Nov 16 2006, 04:11 PM
See but you wouldn't be able to home those skills in the first place... for if you were a wonderer 1. You would have not received any training from a master. and 2. Your character si wayyyyy to young to home those skills.

As states you can be a "ninja" but you would lack alot of skill due to your character's young age.

Posted by: Cyber78 Nov 16 2006, 08:23 PM
Once again, Roncas hits this nail on the head. You could definatly know some ninjitsu (even if ninjas are inferior to pirates), but at the age of 16 there's just no way you could be a master at it. But hey, RPG's wouldn't be too fun if everybody were a master at their discipline. In fiction the best hero is usually the one who learns and develops over the course of the story, so starting with a master usually ends up boring the reader anyhow.

Just so long as these techniques are based in reality and don't reach into the realm of anime style physics (you know, where all females come equipped with hammer space) then there shouldn't be too many problems.

Hooray responsibility!

But according to Cyber78, lacking skill in the beginning of the story is good. So would I be allowed to keep the character but fiddle around with his backstory and skill level so he's inferior to others, instead?

Posted by: Judder Nov 17 2006, 03:14 AM
Yep, It means you gotta learn it to earn it youngin

Posted by: Cyber78 Nov 17 2006, 03:14 AM
Yeah that sounds good to me.

Just play with the back story a bit. Although instead of considering your character inferior, how about simply make the character more dependant on original ideas instead of skill in order to compensate.

Okay, I've fixed my character up.

Name: Raike Shinoba

Age: 16

Occupation: None

Hair Colour: Black

Eye Colour: Black

Height: 169cm

Weight: 65kg

Backstory:

Raike was born in Seoul, South Korea. His parents were Japanese people who had moved there because of cheap electronic stuff. As the result, Raike was shunned by his fellow students (ask an average South Korean for why this would be if you don't know already).

One day, at the age of 15, he was almost beaten to death by some school bullies. He bitterly swore vangeance, and began his search for a very effective strengthening drug.

After a few months of researching, he found out about the effects of vampire virus. He tried to acquire it, but he couldn't find a way of achieving his goal. After an immense amount of time on the Internet, he finally succeeded in obtaining a vial of vampire blood through the black market.

As he injected some of it into his body, he laughed maniacally, finally being able to get even with the students of his school and all other who had treated him badly.

Now Raike resides in the city's sewer system, resting at day time and arising after sunset in order to get his revenge upon the forementioned people.

Posted by: Cyber78 Nov 17 2006, 03:35 AM
Now that is one hell of a background. I like it a lot, nice work.

Posted by: Naruto X13 Nov 17 2006, 03:38 AM
So you know about the current relationship between Japanese people and South Koreans?

Posted by: Cyber78 Nov 17 2006, 03:39 AM
Yeah, I used to talk to a Korean guy online. He was a real nice guy who had nothing against the Japanese, but he told me a bit how bad relations were between the two.

Posted by: Naruto X13 Nov 17 2006, 03:43 AM
You used to? You're talking to a Korean guy now, buddy.

Posted by: Cyber78 Nov 17 2006, 03:46 AM
A korean guy who's into ninjas. I never would've thought.

Posted by: Naruto X13 Nov 17 2006, 04:25 AM
Was that meant to be sarcastic, or what?

Posted by: Cyber78 Nov 17 2006, 04:41 AM
Actually no it wasn't. You could call it cultural ignorance if you'd like, but I always associated ninjas with Japan, and therefore they probably weren't welcome within the culture of most Koreans after some of the shit that happened in WWII. Same way in that some of the Polish guys around where I live still reject a lot of German culture, how a lot of people around here still reject Mexican culture, and how everyone flatout rejects French culture.

Posted by: Naruto X13 Nov 17 2006, 05:06 AM
I'm different from an average Korean guy since I've been living in NZ for more than a third of my life. I don't dislike Japanese people, nor reject their culture. In fact, I know quite a lot of Japanese language, since I took the trouble to study it at high school. I even have a few Japanese friends, whom I email to.

You have NO IDEA. He's like a huge Naruto freak and considers himself an expert.
Downside to knowing him: his overinflated ego.

You're more of a naruto freak than me since you read the manga and play that Naruto-Arena thing. How childish is that? I mean, don't you have anything better to do like trying to beat me in something?

I only used to watch the anime (that's right, not anymore!). And know quite a few things about it. That's it. At least I don't go searching for information about Naruto on wikipedia (nor porn, unlike you).

And just for the record, downside in knowing you: you consider anyone better than you arrogant.

simply doing my job. now lets both shut up before we say something stupid.

look, please, if you are going to flame me, do it at nanzu.

anyway, i like your NEW story. its pretty good.

Posted by: Asiant X13 Nov 19 2006, 06:08 AM
Thanks. Your story is pretty good, as well. Did you get the idea of the name 'Jay' from your first name or Castlevania?

Also, I have no intention of visiting that nanzu website. As I mentioned earlier, I'm not obsessed with Naruto. Never did, and never will be. Got it?
