Word on The Hill
DCU four win appeal Shane Ryan (Dublin), Dessie Dolan (Westmeath), Ross Munnelly (Laois) and Diarmuid Kinsella (Wexford) - who were suspended for allegedly playing while ineligible for DCU - had their bans overturned on Tuesday night. The `DCU 4' were suspended by the Higher Education Committee for 12-weeks after playing with DCU against Sligo IT last November. It was alleged that they were part-time students and therefore not eligible to play for the college. The bans kept them out of the O'Byrne Cup and would also have kept them out of the early rounds of the National Football League. However, all four appealed to the Central Appeals Committee where their case was upheld. |
