Ok I happened to come across the demo of this game and the demo is a very long one. Here is the story of the legend:

THE DRAGON'S LEGACY

The world of Nimoa is as beautiful as the morning dew, but only at first glance. Under the surface of hills and fertile valleys lurks an old and eternal evil. Living as a mould, stretching threads through an infected area like deadly toadstools. The center of this "being?" deep in the under world is the giant daemon, Skarborr.

In deceptive times of peace, this unseen matted tangle of threads, lies dormant, in a state of sleep until it breaks through the Earth's surface and like a toadstool produces caps from which uncountable, no not spores, but dangerous and nauseating monsters appear to serve only the wishes of Skarborr and spread themselves across the planet.

Opposed to the shadowy, subterranean existence of Skarborr is the might of that divine species the dragon, not the storybook dragons of old, but the lords of the skies and the earth.

The humans who had to fight for their existence in Nimoa paid homage to and worshipped their dragons and their dragon god, Ungh-Agor. In the fight against Skarborr man and dragon stood side by side, especially the Ungh-Agorites, members of a religious order of magicians who would fly into battle on carpets with the ability to fly.

There were long and bloody wars, which became longer and bloodier every time they broke out and finally, but finally the dragons and humans won the overhand. A long period of peace rested over Nimoa. The towns built by the humans flourished and slowly but surely the people forgot about the terrible wars of their ancestors.

Time and history passed, the dragons withdrew into their own spheres and eventually left the land of Nimoa and the humans to themselves. Before the dragons left, the Dragon God, Ungh-Agor left the humans with a horrific prophecy and a legacy. The prophecy told of past times and of the return of Skarborr from the void that he was banished to. The bequest or legacy of the dragons was an egg, a dragon's egg, an egg, which Ungk-Agor placed in a well-hidden nest in a forgotten, old stone temple. These old holy places usually have an exceptional flow of Earth energy and these conditions would ensure that a very exceptional dragon would develop and hatch from this one egg. This dragon would come to the aid of the humans when he was needed the most.

The evil of Skarborr did eventually return as predicted. The Ungh-Agorites did not hesitate to gather their forces and began the hopeless fight against the might of Skarborr, but always with one eye on the horizon, scouring the skies for some sign of their savior, the long awaited dragon of the legends.

Basically the game puts you in control of a dragon in which you fly around, destroying buildings and monsters. You navigate the dragon by clicking where you want to move. You target enemies too (games like Warcraft series have this sort of gameplay), the dragon itself can attack with different flame attacks as well as cast spells at each level (you get stronger spells when you reach higher levels). You can also snatch enemies up and devour them.

There are a few things that are a little bad, only one main thing, the dragon is rather a bit slow but is powerful enough. There is no Multiplayer either but it would be a good idea.

You have a choice out of 3 dragons, one which is warrior-like (fire and is the only one you can choose in the demo), healer-type (water) and a necromancer-type (darkness) as well as another dragon you unlock after you complete the game. Each one has their own campaign but have the same goals and that includes killing the demon at the end of the game. You also can create towns in which you must defend (they can handle themselves reasonably well but it is always good to provide as much assistance as possible).

The game i'd give an 8/10 as it is a wonderful game, even though the demo allows you to play through 3 levels. The levels take a long time to pass but it also does not take long to get used to playing as the dragon. The game was sold on November 2004 in America, Europe and France (i'll try ordering it online).

You can download the demo for free.
Those who are RPG fans or Dragon fans alike may not find the game so appealing but it is one worth having. A very addictive one as well.

TECHNOLOGY:

State-of-the-art inhouse Direct3D-based engine with full support for hardware T&L and multitexturing;

Huge levels: each one has tens of square kilometers full of rolling hills, mountains, dense highly-polygonal forests, stones, buildings and other objects;

Real-time terramorphing lets you level down whole mountain ranges and raise new ones instead. Earthquakes, Volcanoes, Craters - you call the shots;

Both static and real-time lighting supported for the best speed and quality;

Time of the day with smooth real-time lightmap blending - watch magnificent sunsets and don't forget to look up at five thousands of stars visible during the night. Try to find some familiar constellations;

Every graphical subsystem has a complete implementation of real-time smooth Level of Detail algorithms which allows to show huge landscapes and thousands of objects without noticeable framerate drop even on low-end machines;

Skeletal animation with smooth blending of different animations makes for an incredibly fluid life-like motion;

Particle systems with more than 50 parameters allows us to model realistic explosions, magic rays, fire, smoke, fractal lightnings and a lot of other effects;

Photorealistic texturing includes both "high-level" textures (roads, etc) and aperiodic detail textures with individual texels less than 5 centimeters in size;

Time control - if you find the action too fast, pausing a game might not always be convenient. So you'll have an option to slow down the game and fine-tune the game time speed to match your personal gaming style. Slow motion effects look cool too...

3D sound with Doppler's effect and MP3 format for music let us create an immercive aural environment. Burning trees, dying monsters, sizzling magic - feel like a real dragon. Music changes smoothly in reaction to the game events.

ASSETS:

Three dragons available, each with its own inherent abilities (fire, acid and ice based) and different set of stats which greatly increase replayability value. Make a "fighter"-type dragon, a "mage" or a "sniper" to suit your tastes - possibilities are endless;

Twelve unique areas representing different landscape types: mountains, deserts, forests, steppes, snowy hills, etc. Each area size is more than 10 square kilometers;

Hordes of hideous monsters (about 40 types);

Ten types of human models - archers, knights, common folk, etc;

All the models use skeletal animation with smooth blending of different animations;

Almost a hundred types of landscape items (trees, boulders, buildings, etc);

More than sixty spells with breathtaking special effects for each one.

GAMEPLAY:

A mystical land filled with magical creatures is your playground. And this time you are a not some puny magician, or a stupid barbarian. You are a Dragon! A power to be reckoned with... Fly with the wind. Protect the people, fight the monsters, set fire to forests, level entire mountain ranges!

Your magic beast has some inherent abilities (different for each of three dragons) and multiple characteristics that you can improve by distributing experience points (base stats are also different but you can develop your dragon any way you wish);

Of course, some different kinds of magic are there, so you won't be limited to throwing flame at monsters. Freeze them, tamper with their minds, summon familiars, heal friendly monsters that citizens tamed, learn to locate important objects or teleport to them directly;

Multiple complex unit behavior routines. People protect towns from monsters and gather enemy souls so you can upgrade their town.
