Would it be possible to implement a sort of dice rolling script (basically it a random number generator e.g. generates 1-20 for d20 then adds given modifier) on the message boards?

For e.g. you put in
CODE
[dice]1d20+2[/dice]

and it gives you a random integer between 3 and 22

I have seen this before, on another site.

I can tell you the site, which has such a function, if you'd like.
The site is DnD Online Games?.
(It seems to be very popular for roleplaying via message boards).

That might work. The actual coding would be very easy to do - I just have no idea how they have implemented it as a message board function.

eh, I preffer having us DMs do it. it gives us more control over what's going on. we can keep things interesting, letting the lower-level players survive when they're in a higher level party and attract the attention of something they shouldn't have. But it would be useful enough for players and their attack rolls.
