I have two biographies... one is ok, but the other isn't very accurate.

The good one is just called "Depp", and it's by Christopher Heard. It seems pretty accurate, and the author seems to have a deep admiration for JD, and I think some times it gets in the way of his writing. Biographies are supposed to be unbiased.

The second one, which is from the star biographies series, is called Johnny Depp: The passionate rebel (there's that rebel word that Johnny hates so much angry.gif) and it was written by Stone Wallace.

The book contains a forward by Dolores Fuller (for those of you who've seen Ed Wood. Dolores Fuller was his girl friend played by Sarah Jessica Parker). The only thing I don't understand about this, is that Dolores says she hasn't actually met Johnny before. Don't you think a forward in a biography should be written by someone who's actually met the person?

The book is an ok read, most stuff I had already read before. It wasn't very accurate though, in the chapter on 21 Jump Street, the author mentions that:

"unfortunately, [Fredrick] Forrest's character, Captain Fuller, only survived 7 episodes of the first season before being killed by a drunk driver. His role was filled by Steven Williams."

First off, Fredrick Forrest played Captain Jenko... and Steven Williams played Captain Fuller. Second, captain Jenko actually only in the first 6 episodes (his funeral was featured in the begining of episode 7, "gotta finish the riff", so technically he wasn't actually in that episode) Obviously, Stone Wallace, who ever he is, didn't do his homework before writing this bio.
